Chapter Fifteen; Evident

"In Amane's room we found various evidence." Ryuzaki explains. "For example, cat hair found on the tape on the second Kira's video cassette. There was also make-up powder and clothing fibers. In order to prevent the certain chaos, we've decided not to publicize our capture. We told her agent that she is under arrest for possession of illegal drugs. That way, it won't create too much public uproar."

There's a long pause. Light just stares at Ryuzaki with an unreadable expression.

"Are you alright?" Ryuzaki asks. "Your girlfriend is suspected for being the second Kira, I can imagine how you must feel."

No response.

"Okay... Well we will leave you alone for now." Ryuzaki says, turning to face me. "C'mon."

I walk alongside Ryuzaki as we head towards the cafeteria for cake and leave Light to think about his next move.

—a few hours later

"Ah Ryuzaki. The evidence all makes sense now." Aizawa says as Ryuzaki and I walk into the room.

"Watari, did she say anything?" Ryuzaki asks, stepping in front of the computer screen.

"No." Watari replies. "she hasn't said anything, Not even complaining about being held up."

"Very well... Send the image here."

"Is that a good idea?" Watari question Ryuzaki.

"It'll be fine." Ryuzaki replies.

Moments later a live video of Amane tied up head-to-toe and blindfolded is put onto the screen.

The rest of the team besides, Ryuzaki and I, gasps.

"Ryuzaki!" Chief Yagami is shocked, "This-"

"Miss Amane is suspected of being the second Kira. It is only logical to restrain her this way." Ryuzaki informs the team. "If she turns out to not be Kira this will have been a bad idea and highly illegal, but I'm quite sure that it's her."

"Even though the fingerprint isn't her's, we found a notebook that has the same paper as the diary entry and she has the same stamps as those on the envelops." Aizawa says. "Also, the ink in a pen of her's is identical. The tape sent in Osaka had flower pollen from the flowers found where Misa had lived before this April. There is no such flower in Kantou."

"She also has the receipts for the train tickets from when she went to Nagano and Tokyo to send the other tapes." Matsuda says. "The security tapes of those days are still intact, we can easily borrow them to make sure."

"With all that evidence, there is no doubt that she is indeed Kira." Chief Yagami states.

Ryuzaki sits in his chair, "The only things left to figure out is how she killed the victims, and if she knows Kira. Also if she does know Kira, who is he?" He pauses for a moment before speaking again. "Watari, do everything possible within the limit of keeping her alive to make her talk."

I stiffen up. This does not look good.

"Yes sir." Watari replies in an indifferent manner.

"Mr. Yagami, I have already restricted access for Light to come in here." Ryuzaki says. "In the near future, I may summon him here for questioning, I hope you can prepare yourself for that." He takes a long sip of his cold tea that has been on the desk for an hor or two. "Amane moved to Kantou in April, and then started to date Light. Amane's parents were killed by robbers and those robbers were killed by Kira. Light had Amane's cell phone, while this is normal for couples, I don't think Light would normally like that stuff, considering his pride. If Light is Kira, he would probably kill her to seal her mouth, but she is still alive. Though, since there are only a handful of people who know that Amane is captured, he may be worrying that he will draw attention to himself if he acts now."

I nod my head in agreement. How long are we going to have to sit here and wait for Amane to speak?
