Stingray✔️

War was second nature for me. I've been in so many gang wars that they've all faded together. There was no way I was going to remember war number 5 or 3. No, but I will always remember gang war number 1. A tragic story appropriately associated with war.

My dad had been leading The Remnants back then and he was launching the first attack against the opposition. I know what you are all thinking, that he died but he didn't.

Well not yet at least.

He was burning down one of the Loan Sharks buildings of the opposing gang when his future wife (my mom) shot him in the stomach.

Now many of you might not know this but that's arguable the most painful place to be shot. However, my dad survived and had a relationship with my mom. Which, evidently, led to me. I would say bad ass-sity runs in the family. Note made up word.

So my dad was The Remnants Alpha and my mom was his Luna. They were so badass they eventually took over the entire Gauteng, driving out any rival gangs. Of course when they died most of the territory was lost. The Remnants were all I had left of them and getting the territory back was going painstakingly slow. But I was determined to get all of it back.

Now normally when people think about a gang, they think about Future's song Mask off. Well its not that. In fact its far from it actually. If I had to put it into their simplest form I would say its part GTA, part Watchdog, part Need for Speed and part Mythology.

This will confuse.

Luckily I was born into it, so it was my entire life. Well half of it, I still have highschool. Now, back to the present.

I sat in the dark room, sipping my coke, looking at the digital screen that showed what my entire gang was doing. I wasn't letting my family die while I'm chilling safely away from danger. I was here because I had just single handedly taken basically the entire Aeolus Academy area. It was hard work being an Alpha.

Now, unfortunately, I was grabbing my sword and gun. Now I'm sure your asking how my sword would stop bullets. Well, you probably have many assumptions as to what I mean, but I'm going to be mean and not tell you. You're welcome.

I finished my coke, grabbed my sword, gun and car key. What did you think I was going to do, walk to The Cross? I'm was only fifteen but tall for my age. At mere glance though I looked legal. Being a criminal had its perks.

I got to the garage and looked at my first car. A moment of doubt crossed my mind. I wanted, just for second, to get in and drive to Zoe to make sure she was safe. My family didn't know this but deep down I was doing this for her. I wanted her to be safe.

Then I remembered who was after her. No way. I patted my car and got in. They were going to die. I promise you, readers. I stepped on the pedal and sped down the street.

Zoe's Pov

It had been hours since the news broadcast came on. Luckily for me I could cook a bit. I spent most of my time on Whatsapp, TV and on the couch. I tried to get the war off my mind but my friends kept on talking about it. Some were saying it was cool that they were in a gang war. Some were scared. I was too. I mean we all lived in the area because of school and if we died I was going to haunt Aeolus Academy for making me live in this gang invested area.

After making myself hot chocolate while listening to Trace in the background, I stared out of the window. The street was completely dark and no one dared come out. It was eerie. Like the calm before the storm. I missed my parents, and my little brother was miserable without them. Luckily once I mentioned he didn't have to go to school, he was fine.

Suddenly the street lit up. A bluish Corvette sped down the street and on its side The Remnants symbol flashed proudly. I felt what I assume was his presence and had a moment of deja vu. I knew him.
