Joint Custody✔️

Everyone left except Toni who helped me think of a course of action. I know, because of Psyche, that Jake is still looking for Caitlyn. I mentally roll my eyes. I'm sure it won't take long for Jake to find out the progress of his gang and what they did to the Hydras. So it's safe to assume that he will not be around anywhere we think he would be. But we already knew that. So we just spread the word to be on the look out for anything underworld-ly.

Toni and I were now sitting on chairs by a table in the cafeteria. The cafeteria in the headquarters of The Remnants had a chill vibe with tables, chairs and sofas. Where we were sitting was a sort of Starbucks thing.

"I'm sorry about Bradlin and Psyche." Toni said suddenly. I shook my head.

"No it's okay. I guess I'm just afraid. I've finally found some peace and stability in my life and Jake coming back just means that everything can ruin that."

"I know how you feel but don't worry. If Jake even tries to flirt with you I'll cut him down faster than he can say 'Hey Baby'" Toni threatened. I laughed, but I doubted she would be able to cut him down that fast. Or at all.

"But I'm glad he's up." I added. Toni gave me a small smile.

"You're conflicted. Tell me about it. I have this to deal with, and I was about to watch the new season of Teen wolf." I laughed at this.

I turned to stare around the room. Luke wasn't back for obvious reasons, and I missed him. Andrew and Gabriel aren't really the talkative type. My mind was jumbled as it moved rapidly.

Jake was out there. Death had returned.

Death's P. O. V

Dammit.

I stood outside the San. King Gunther had supposedly taken his army and joined the fight but I didn't believe that. I know for a fact that while I was out there, there was nothing more than Remnant troops out there.

I opened the door and stepped into the San. Just as expected it was empty. Smart idiot I thought. He would be a fool to come back here. I felt a piercing pain behind my left eye. I covered with it with my left hand and ran to the nearest window. Since it was dark, my reflection was imminent. I uncovered my eye to see the pupil red and the white, black. I smirked and watched it finish.

It felt a lot like this the first time but that was, actually no it wasn't, well it felt like a long time ago. The pain in my eye was just as bad as the first time but I knew it would get better. It wasn't as bad as the time I had to absorb all the pain and torment of the underworld. But now that I thought of it, did that mean that I would need to learn how to use my power again?

I looked back at the room. My guess: it had been abandoned for six months now. How did I know? I could just say I'm a genius or that my new red and black eye could see into the past. But that would be a lie. The dust on the floor was a factor and the fact that it was so stuffy in here.

Now what to do?

I walked forward and thought more on that question. I thought that it wouldn't be so hard to pick up the trail again but apparently the trail was dead. Just BLAM! I kicked the nearest thing, which was a pillar and guess what? I broke my foot. I immediately sat down and massaged it. A pain rang up my leg, and I cursed. I say curse like it was one but it was a continuously stream of curses. This didn't happen six months ago.

"You know, you don't have to be such an ass?"

"You're the one that's the ass. Driving a knife that could have potentially killed me was a nice move, ass." Hades growled back.

"One would think you'd want your wife back. One would think you'd at least keep me healthy enough to find her but I guess if you don't -"

"Don't even finish that sentence. I want Persephone back. It's...driving me mad being without her and we would have found her already if you didn't get yourself captured and then stabbed." Hades spat back.

I stared at my foot. I could feel the broken bones in my toes and foot.

"Hades..."

"Just shut up. Take your broken foot and your guilty ass and find my wife!" He shouted and fell silent.

Those last words echoed through the abandoned building. I felt my bones in my foot painfully reconnect, but I didn't scream nor curse. I didn't deserve such pain; I deserved more. I left Caitlyn out there where she was at mercy of the Fates.

My wife.

Not ours, not our soulmate. I would rather throw the world into darkness than not have my soulmate.

Wait...

Persephone was in Caitlyn, and I needed to find a way to get to her. She was an underworld goddess and queen. I can't track her by her scent of death, but I also know she is the goddess of springtime. Also that a certain goddess went crazy when Hades took her.

Come on readers, help me get this goddess name, please! Her life depends on it.

I got it! Thank you, thank you, thank you. My body, powered by new hope, jumped up. I balled my fist and looked up to the sky.

So Hades hates me? Okay. Zoe probably hates me? Okay. I haven't seen my brother in six months? Okay. But I'm going to find Hades soulmate.

"Our soulmate," Hades mumbled.

"I definitely agree."
