Chapter Two: The Mission

"SILENCE!" Roared my father. We were sitting in the meeting chamber. Again.

"My Lord, we believe the portal to the other realms was forcefully opened by a witch and warlock last night." Spoke Talon. He was nicer to me than most of the others. He shared certain views with me but was still on my fathers side.

"How was this possible!" He was beyond furious. "Does anyone have any other information on this! Once they are caught they will be sentenced to the Faction of the Forgotten." He said flicking his cloak and motioning for me to follow him. I scraped my chair back and followed after him.

"This is your first mission to get prepared for being the queen of Hell. They all hate you so if you fail they will have a reason to take action to remove you, am I clear?" He spoke calmly, a little too calmly.

"When am I leaving?" I questioned.

"In an hour, go pack a bag to bring with you." He said nodding his head towards the door.

I hurried out and towards my room I packed a couple knives in case they don't feel like cooperating. I know I have my powers but I don't want to use them unless absolutely necessary.

I looked back at my room, it was the only place that didn't scream death in this entire place. I had a grey rug and a white fluffy bed. Nothing else really besides my black desk.

I closed my door and walked down the stairs and into the throne room.

"Father?" I called when I didn't seen anyone on the throne.

"In here!" He yelled from the room connected to this one from a stone archway. I walked in and looked at the mosaics that littered all 4 walls of this room.

I looked at him to see him studying a book. He was hastily flipping through the pages.

"What's that?" I asked not recognizing that book.

"It was your mother's." He muttered under his breath.

"What was she like?" He visibly tensed and shut the book pushing past me.

"We don't have time for this, are you ready?" He questioned. I frowned, but nodded.

"Lets go." He said walking around me. I followed him down the corridor.

"Why won't you just tell me?" I asked him again. I was desperate to know something about her, anything.

He just ignored me.

I sighed and just kept following him. We walked down the dreadful staircase and into the meeting room, but luckily this time it was empty. No angry goblins, no angry demons no angry anything. Well besides my father.

We walked up to a huge portrait. He pulled out a knife and slit his palm open.

"What are you doing!" I screeched and went to grab the knife from him when he smeared it on the painting.

"My blood is payment to open the portals, so I don't know how they were able to get out of here." He growled.

"I'll find them." I told him confidently.

"You don't have much of an option." He said pulling the painting open.

"How do I get back?" I questioned him.

"Go to the exact spot you land and spill your blood on the ground, it will open a portal and you'll be back. You can't mess this up, am I clear?" He spoke with authority, I just nodded my head and looked back at the painting.

I let out a nervous breath and took a step closer.

I looked at my father to see a stern look on his face. I turned around and stepped in.

A swirling haze of colors filled my vision along with a sudden need to vomit. I closed my eyes and once the feeling of nausea passed me I opened my eyes to be met with a dark room. I stood up and bashed my head on something hard. It must've been a shelf or something I then tripped over another thing. I groaned and felt for a door knob, when I felt the knob I turned it and light poured into the room.

I stepped out the door and realized it was a closet I was in. I was standing in the middle of a hallway that had blue walls with dark wood floors. Where was I?

I walked down the hallway and saw a bar and a bunch of tables. So the entrance to hell is in a closet, in a bar. That's great to know.

"Hey! Sorry but we are closed right now." I looked up and saw a guy holding a rag and was dressed in all black.

"I'm sorry but could you tell me the name of this bar?" I asked him.

"Pamela's Pub. Do you need something?" He asked. I just shook my head and walked towards the door. Well, he wasn't that friendly. The sun was blinding. I looked up at it, I've only read about the sun in books. About trees, Oh my gremlin, there are so many trees, they are beautiful. I walked up to one and let my finger touch it. This is so weird.

I needed to get over my excitement of Earth, sure it was beautiful, but I'm here for a reason and sightseeing isn't it. I looked around and didn't see anyone so I raised my hands and began chanting. 'Locatari gentari' I saw small sparks start lining up along the grass creating a trail. I followed it down this quad looking thing. There were streets lining the ground with cars parked on the side of the road. I followed it farther and farther down the street.

I must've been walking for about thirty minutes, when the trail stopped. I was standing outside a not so nice looking warehouse. It was a rusty brown color with shattered windows.

"Great." I muttered to myself. I looked around for a door when I spotted a large opening on the side of the building that definitely wasn't supposed to be there. I pulled the knife out of belt and started stealthily walking towards it. I peeked in through a shattered window and saw crates and boxes everywhere. I walked through the hole in the wall and began walking around.

'Locatari gentari' I breathed. The spark went to the ceiling before dissolving, that means they are here.

I glanced around the crates still not seeing anyone.

I peeked around the crate when I saw a man and a woman wearing brown cloaks.

"Hello Princess Laylah." The woman spoke.

"Why would you come here I told you what would happen."I said to them.

"We needed to come here." They both spoke.

"There is a man, he is dangerous and he's been threatening us." The man muttered ashamed.

"I need to get us back to the entrance to hell." I told them. "Tell me everything when we get back."

"He wants you." The woman mumbled.

"Hold onto my hands." I told them. Trying to forget what she just said. If this is true it isn't safe for us here.

"Transportal memor." I chanted. Until I felt the world spinning until our feet reconnected with the ground. I looked up and saw that the three of us were back in front of the pub.

"Come on." I told them. They followed me through the pub and to the closet.

I pulled out my knife and winced when the blade sliced my palm open. I rubbed my blood onto the wall in the closet.

The portal began forming when we heard a loud bang come from the front of the building.

"Go!" I told them. They jumped through without hesitation.

I put up a few enchantments guarding the closet before jumping through myself. The all too familiar nauseating feel ran through me until I crashed into the meeting room floor back at hell.

I glanced up and saw my father already had them in shackles.

"Father! Unchain them, it wasn't their fault." I told him as I made it to my feet.

"And you two better tell us both everything." I told them. They immediately nodded their heads and I motioned for them to sit.

"We don't know his name but, his threats were gruesome and terrifying. All he told us was that he wanted you, and it doesn't seem like he is willing to stop finding new ways to get you." The woman frowned.

"So you led your future queen into a trap!" My father roared.

"Take then to the Faction of the Forgotten." My father spat at the guard. I just stared at them in shock. Why would anyone be after me? I mean sure there are many reasons actually, but the easiest way to dethrone someone is to go for the person actually on the throne. Not the kid that no one gives a crap about.

Deep down I knew that the two had committed treason against the kingdom so I didn't argue with my father this time.

"Did you see anything else while you were there?" He asked me. Dismissing the guards that surrounded us.

"No, I heard someone, but didn't see them." I frowned looking down at my hands. So many things were rushing through my head right now.

"At least you didn't fuck up the mission, you'll be staying on this." He growled out before leaving me alone in the hallway.
