Chapter Sixteen: What Did You Expect A Five Star Hotel?
I got to the painting on the lower level of the palace as soon as possible, I needed to talk to Noah, Ty and Lance. I was running out of time and they seem to know a lot about things like this for just being humans. If they got there hands on historic journals and logs from here they could help save my father.
"Enare." I chanted. A line was sliced across my palm, blood seeping down my arm as I rubbing it against the painting. The portal opened for me as I jumped through. I need to make this quick I didn't even tell anyone I was leaving. I ignored the feeling of nausea that crept in my stomach from leaving this realm. Once my feet connected with the dusty wood planks I slammed the closet door open. Luckily today this bar seemed less crowded. I left the bar ignoring everyone's curious stares.
"Transportal memor." My surroundings changed and I was standing outside their small house. I ran up to the door knocking on it nonstop. I heard someone yell to calm down and that they were coming. I think it was Noah. The door bathed open and I see a shocked Noah staring back at him. He ran up to me pulling me into a tight hug.
"None of us thought you were coming back," he smiled.
"Noah! Whose at the door!" I heard Ty call as him and Lance walked down the stairs, once they saw me Lance just looked surprised and Ty full on fling himself at me, nearly knocking me down in the process. I laughed at his behavior.
"Come on in." Noah said motioning for me to walk inside.
"Did you finally show up so that we could teach you everything about well everything?" Asked a completely excited Ty.
"I wish that was the case." I frowned.
Once we all sat down in their couch I filled them in in the situation at Hell. I told them everything.
"Damn, you've been through a lot." Frowned Noah.
"I don't even know where to start, my warriors are out hunting my mother who is no where to be found, my father is dying and I have no idea what to do, I need to be in too many places at once to ensure my realms safety from her. That's why I'm here, I was hoping you guys would be willing to help." I smiled hoping they would agree.
"How can we help?" Asked a weary Lance.
"Well I would need you to review a bunch of historical documents along with spell books to see if you guys can find anything to hat relates to my fathers symptoms." I spoke.
"Of course we will help, when can you bring the documents here so we can look them over, we will also need to have a list of his symptoms and that sort of stuff." Said Noah.
"Sorry, But I would actually need to bring you guys with me." I frowned. The shocked and terrified looks on there faces made me want to go back in time and not come here.
"You want to kill us!" Yelled Lance.
"No of course not, just think of it as a trip, i will bring you back safely here once everything is fixed." I smiled.
"So we won't actually die correct?" Asked Noah.
"I've never done this before but I can get you guys back here. I can even enchant you guys with protection spells while you are there." I was really hoping they would agree, I know it was a lot to ask, but this is my last resort. I don't trust anyone else right now.
"I'll go." Noah said looking at me.
"Me too bestie." Said Ty nudging my arm.
"Absolutely not! Have you all lost your minds, she wants to bring us to a fiery pit down there," He snapped pointing at the ground, "People who do bad things like murder are down there. Plus, what happens IF fucking Satan wakes up and gets all better go see us there there, we will actually be dead!" He yelled sounding extremely frustrated towards him.
"IF my father wakes up he won't lay a finger on any of you." I promised. All I got in return was a 'yeah right' look form Lance.
"No one can stop effing satan, sweetheart!" He snapped.
"I can." I shrugged; He may be the leader of Hell but I can beat him in any fight.
"Yeah, and how is that?" He said giving me a dirty look.
"Because I've done it before." I Said. "I'm one of the strongest beings in that realm I can protect you guys, I promise." I smiled hoping they would just agree to come with me.
"This doesn't feel right, guys ." He spoke directing it towards Ty and Noah who were standing next to me.
"Lance, come on. Please we never do anything without each other." Noah begged. "And plus who gets to say they went to hell and are friends with the queen of Hell." He smiled at me.
"How are we even supposed to get there?!?!" He snapped at all of us. He was beyond pissed.
"Please Lance, I am running out of time. I really need all of your help." I frowned.
"Fine, But i better not be stuck down there if we all die." I nodded in agreement.
"It won't come to that, we should go now." I told them. I couldn't teleport all of us, that spell could just cause too many problems, I wouldn't want someone to part with their souls and that would just create an entirely new problem for me.
"Can I bring some snacks?" Ty asked picking up a bag of chips. I think they were called 'Doritos' based of of the name written across the front of the dark blue bag.
"Ty, don't think with your stomach right now." Sighed Noah. I couldn't help but let out a laugh . Of course Ty would want to bring food with him. I haven't even known him that long but his goofy personality has definitely been getting through to me. Breaking off chunks of my hard demeanor one by one.
"You won't be needing food trust me." I smiled opening their front door. "We have to go I only have a day to find my mother, and break the curse on my father." They nodded. Talk about having a messed up family. My dad is literally satan and my mom is a psycho scientist who seems to be out to kill everyone. Just great.
——————————————
It took us about 15 minutes to get there in Noah's truck. He parked in the empty parking lot behind the bar.
"So you are telling me that the entrance to hell is in a freaking bar?" Asked an extremely confused yet still annoyed Lance. I mean he was moody last time but he's especially moody today.
We walked inside and ignored the looks of customers. Thankfully they all seemed to be a little too drunk to process that four teenagers were walking into a bar.
I opened the closet door.
"Oh my fucking bad guys, it's in an effing closet inside of a bar." We all have him a dirty look.
"Why am I the only concerned one here?" He asked raising his hands up in defense.
"Does teleporting hurt?" Asked Ty giving me a now scared look.
"No, you might just feel a little dizzy that's all." I smiled. We all crammed into the closet. Noah crashed Into the shelf on the wall opposite of the door.
"Shit." He winced rubbing his head.
"Enare."I breathed tracing my finger across my palm opening up my wound. I smeared the blood in a pattern across the wall.
"Okay, now I can't be the only one to think that's creepy." Lance spoke with a crazed expression on his face.
"Hold my hand." I Said reaching it out. They all gripped onto my not bloody hand as I pressed my bloody one harder into the wood. The familiar feeling of nausea washed over me, this time it felt a little different, maybe because I was bringing three people with me.
We landed with a thud, immediately I was pressed to the ground with a thud. Ty feel right on top of me.
"Ty get up." I wheezed.
"Sorry." He mumbled quickly scrambling to get off of me.
"Woah." I looked behind me to see the three of them looking around in shock.
"I was expecting more of a fiery pit." He sighed looking at all the ancient paintings that decorated the old cracked stone walls.
"What does it look like outside?" Noah asked.
"We don't have much time so you can look quickly, the sky is red so don't get freaked out by that. And keep in mind this is hell not a vacation destination." They all shares looks of disbelief. How do they think I felt when I learned their sky was blue.
I pushed open the giant stone doors with inscriptions of runes decorating the edges.
"Oh my god." Murmured Noah.
I glanced outside with them. It really was an awful sight, people strung to poles as their bodies slowly disintegrated into nothingness before returning. The people down by the lava pits. On certain moon cycles the tide of the lava pits will rise, engulfing those condemned. Their blood runs through this kingdom, it is paint in the throne room practically and it lines many paths leading to even worse sentences for the condemned. A few lesser demons flew across the red sky almost mimicking giant bats. If those are a thing...
"I think I'm going to be sick." Wheezed Lance coveting his mouth with his hand, quickly turning to face the inside of the palace.
"Come on, I'll show you guys my room where all the books are." I motioned for them to follow me.
"I don't think I was really allowed to bring you guys here; you will need to stay out of sight." We walked up the spiral staircase up to my Chambers's. I pushed the old wooden door open revealing the only not so awful thing in this kingdom.
"These are ancient texts, go through each of
them. I will also leave a list of all of my fathers symptoms, you have maybe 24 Earth hours at most." I frowned.
"Commano." A small object formed in my hand with a band attached to it.
"This is a siren beacon, it will alert me when you found something." I told them. They nodded in understanding. I handed it to Noah who placed it in his pocket.
"No matter what you cannot leave this room. If someone sees you and I'm not here to protect you, let's just leave it at it won't be pretty." I frowned. "I'll set up enchantments so only I can get in from the outside, so don't leave." I warned. I stepped outside.
"Protera memro" the door slammed shut as the magical barrier formed. Only leaving a hidden loophole for me. I rushed down the stairs and into the planning room. There were several warriors tracing lines across the map.
"Nothing yet Dark Lord, we apologize."
"Don't apologize, get it done." I spoke before turning towards the door. "I'm going to go have a chat with the Phoenix's."
"Transportal Memor." I let the feeling of nausea that I have grown accustom to swarm me before my bearings blurred into the Phoenix's sanctuary.
"Jasper!" I called out. Almost immediately about five Phoenix's came rushing over holding Spears.
"Where is Jasper?" I asked the Five Phoenix's. Two girls, three guys. They all had mesmerizing colorful eyes with different color hues flowing across their skin, almost like the trees in this area. The only trees that have ever survived on Hell.
"Not here, daughter of Satan." One of the girls snapped. She had a chocolate skin tone with hues of purple and teal running around her arms and legs.
"It's Queen to you." I snapped. "I don't want to cause trouble but you are wasting my time. Now where is Jasper? I won't ask again."
They slowly parted letting me get through.
"The tent, you were in it the first day he brought you here." One of the guys spoke up.
I nodded and began jogging towards it. Jasper must have sensed my presence because once I needed the tent he walked out looking right st me, as if he'd been expecting me.
"Is She here?" I snapped at him.
"My top trackers and warriors can't find her anywhere and this is the only place they can't look." I snapped. "Where. Is. She!"
"She's not here, we would never help her again, I even began training a few of my stronger people." He frowned. "We will be of service to you, my queen." He bowed his head.
"Thank you, Jasper. Round up as many people as you can and have them ready. I have a gut feeling that this whole things is not going to end well." I frowned.
"War, Laylah. I know none of us want to be in a war but we can't avoid the inevitable." He sighed. I nodded in agreement. I guess we are at war, with my mother.
"Any ideas of where she could be hiding?" I asked hoping for bigger leads as to her location.
"I have no idea, I'm sorry." I nodded before casting a spell.
"Transportal Memor."
My bearings changed and I was immediately back in front of my bedroom door. I opened it nearly scaring the three boys half to death.
"I thought for sure she would be hiding with the Phoenix's." I frowned. "It's hidden and I'm the only one who can get there." I frowned.
"What's a Phoenix again?" Asked Noah.
"They are a type of demon that has a deep bond with nature. Not the type of demon that usually lives in Hell. They can fly and are good at hiding." I spoke.
"And Cora wasn't there." Asked Noah. "That sounds like a perfect spot for someone to hide. She would blend right in and no one would be able to get to her."
"Wait a minute. Do you have anywhere else that is maybe closed off, no one goes there, that she could get to easily?" Asked Lance. "I read about this place in that journal over there. The Faction of the Forgotten? Is that still around?"
"It's right down the path outside." What would she be doing back there.
"She was kept a prisoner there. Along with hundred of thousands of people, that's where people who live here are sentenced for commuting a crime and the worst criminals from your realm." I frowned.
"Why would She be there?" I whispered to myself. None of this made sense. Wait a minute.
"Orpheus said something about her being able to absorb magic in a way. She could overload the barrier spell. She tried taking out my father to lower the power behind it. She's trying to take the barrier down." I whispered to myself,
"Oh my god, she's trying to kill everyone in this realm not just my father and I . She's trying to destroy everything."
