Chapter Seven: Lovely Family Bonding?
I sat up and stretched my sore limbs the events from the past few days hitting into me like a wrecking ball. I took my fathers warning to heart. I don't want to be put in the dungeons or something drastic like he threatened.
I got dressed in my black leggings, black shirt and black cloak decorated with golden detailing.
I walked out of my room and down the spiral stone staircase in the castle heading towards the throne room. I walked in to see someone bowing down to my father probably begging for forgiveness from some type of crime committed in our realm.
It seemed like a warlock due to the horns emerging from their hair but I could be wrong.
"Back to the dungeons." My father spoke motioning for the guards to return him back.
"Come in Laylah." He said looking straight ahead; not sparing me a glance.
"You ordered for me to come here?" I questioned.
"Have you regained your strength from your previous....activities?" He asked now focusing his attention on me.
"I'm back to my full strength." I nodded.
"Good. I have another mission for you back at the human realm." I just nodded confused as to why I needed to go back there again.
"What is the reason?" There was no way he would just send me there. He probably wanted me to do something that would mentally hurt me. He knew I didn't like to hurt people but frankly, he didn't care.
"Apparently your mother still has scientists working in labs on Earth trying to create a specimen similar to you. I need you to kill it and destroy the entire lab." He said through gritted teeth.
"Well that's easier said than done." I said feeling kind of annoyed.
He stood up from his throne and took a few long strides towards me.
"I don't care how you do it? I just need it done, your going tomorrow I'll leave you today to prepare." He said walking back up his stone steps covered in blood stains to get to his throne.
I guess he must have seen my dumbstruck face.
"What will you do if I'm not here one day to run hell?" He snapped. "Are you going to let any of those goblins or warlocks tell you how to rule, at that point let them sit on the fucking throne."
"You need to get used to these missions."
"Ok." I said already having a plan forming in my head.
"Good, you're dismissed." He said leaning back in his bone covered throne.
I just rolled my eyes and started figuring out a way to have a nice chat with my mother.
I didn't even walk to my room I left the castle doors and headed down the blood covered path.
The horrific tower filled with zombie like people stood before me. All I had to do was get to the top.
I stepped through the gate and immediately they started limping towards me in almost what seemed like waves.
"Incero" I chanted burning everyone into ashes.
I ignored the pang in my heart as the number of bodies, even though they are dead, depleted.
This is the first time I'm ever going into the tower. I shook off my feeling of worry and stepped into the crumbling building. This time I unleashed the demon annihilating everything on this floor before pulling it back in.
I took a deep breath and then made my way up the narrow stairs. I placed my hand on the stone wall filled with cracks and holes as I made my way up.
It smelled awful, like death and I don't know what else. I slowly stepped into the next floor and looked around.
I heard gurgling noises causing me to jump, and that's when I saw something that made bile rise in my throat. There were pieces of what looked like a body being reformed in the corner of the room. I was running out of time.
I quickly found the next staircase and ran up them. Based on the looks of it I just had to get to the roof now. I quickly ran across the floor since I heard more gurgling sounds coming from this floor but I just couldn't look at that again.
"You shouldn't be here." I heard someone laugh maniacally.
I quickly jumped and chanted.
"Zalpe." I chanted quickly sending a bolt of lighting at him from my finger tips sending him flying back into the wall. He was spasming on the floor as the bolts of electricity danced throughout his veins quickly killing him....again. He is in a state of nothingness until he respawns back in this horrid tower.
I quickly found the last staircase. This was it. I was going to see my mother, for the first time in my entire life. I gripped the latch on the door and pulled it down. I stepped out onto the roof and saw a woman chained to a pole my both arms and legs.
"Didn't think I would be getting a visitor." Spoke a voice that sounded similar to that gurgling noise.
I warily took a step afraid to see what she looked like.
When I did get a glimpse I immediately raised my hand over mouth. She was covered in what looked like wrinkles and burns, half of her face was covered in blood and her gray hair was so thin it barely looked like she had anything there.
"Who the hell are you?" She asked when she got a look at me.
"I need to know about the experiments your team is running back on Earth. I need to know where it is." I spoke trying to keep my eyes off of her. I didn't want to see my monster of a mother, but mostly I didn't want to see what I've done to her over the years from releasing my magic.
"Not anyone could get up here in one piece, who are you?" She asked again completely ignoring my questions.
"It doesn't matter now tell me." I snapped.
"Laylah?" She asked. This caused me to look up at her but I immediately regretted it when I saw the look on her face. She was probably just trying to get me to release her. Probably.
"Answer my question!" I yelled not wanting to be here any longer than I have to.
"How am I supposed to know does it looks like I've gotten to catch up with them?" She laughed humorlessly.
"What did you tell them before you were brought here?" I Questioned.
"How I made you." She said so casually you would think she was talking about what shirt she was planning on wearing that day. "I would go if i were you, lightning strikes those posts in a few minutes wouldn't want to be up here when it happens would ya?" She said to me looking like she didn't give a damn about my well-being, she simply just didn't want me there.
"Where is the lab that you were in before coming here?" I asked knowing well when the lightning strikes those posts. I saw my father when I was probably around five cast it, he told me it was one of the worst people in all of hell.
"Why should I tell you?" She laughed maniacally. "What are you going to do about it?"
I raised my hand and breathed, "posedim."
Her body immediately went stiff as I shoved her wrists and ankles into the enchanted iron shackles created to burn their victim.
She let out a blood curdling scream as blood seeped down her hands and ankles. She tried to get out of my grip but she had no power against me.
"Tell me now!" I practically growled at her.
"The lab is in New York. It's an underground compound. You'll never get in and believe me when they get ahold of you...."
"Zalpe." Her body violently shook until she entered the dark void of nothingness.
"Transportal memor."
The familiar feeling of my room immediately comforted me. I wasn't expecting her to be anything special but that was...
......that was interesting.
