Chapter Eleven: The Experiment

I felt like I was in shock as we just stared at each other. It couldn't be possible. But could it?

The scientists immediately refocused their attention on me this time instead of that boy.

"Laylah?" I heard Noah breath next to me. "What do we do now?"

I was at a loss, what do we do now? If I release my demon I would kill the boy and possibly the three of them and I didn't want that.

"Give me a second, and don't panic." I whispered to him.

"Transportal memor."

The feeling of nausea crossed over me before I was standing at the top of the stairs. I heard yelling coming from the room below me. Suddenly the door slammed open as the guards poured into the staircase.

I released the demon as it absorbed them snapping their bodies apart until they were nothing but ash lying on the ground. Usually I felt sadness when I killed people with that magic in me, but this time I felt no remorse. I almost didn't feel like myself.

I hurried through the door to see a panicked Noah and Lance where as Ty looked relatively, bored?

"Zalpe." I changed sending the scientists flying into the wall jolting with electric shocks as they traveled through their veins, quickly killing them. Well my father will be getting a lot of visitors today.

I untied the guys before carefully making my way over to that boy. I was about to reach for his restraints when I felt a hand rest on my shoulder.

"You sure that's a good idea?" He asked.

"Who are you?" I asked the boy who was still staring at me.

"Orpheus." He mumbled, he had beads of sweat lining his forehead.

"Daughter of Lucifer, is it?" I jumped along with the boys as a scientist holding a rather large gun on the other side of the room. "I believe it was Laylah according to your mother. Am I correct in my assumptions?"

"How do you know who I am?" I snapped.

"You are quite popular among this lab." She said walking towards a table placing the gun down.

"I would like you to send your mother back to us, she shouldn't be where she is, she should be here conducting these experiments on him with us." She laughed humorlessly.

"Where is her mom?" Asked Noah. Dammit.

"You haven't told them who you really are have you Laylah dear?" She laughed.

"Your friend here is the future..." I immediately cut her off.

"Pudotan." I was now in control of her every movement. Except for her mouth obviously.

"Tell me everything about this boy and I'll let you go." I told her. She just laughed.

"Tell me everything about Hell."

"Hell?" Asked Lance. "What is she talking about Laylah?"

"I can't tell you guys, it's too dangerous for you to know." I frowned. Never have I ever wanted to tell anyone anything more in my entire life. I felt bad for constantly having to lie to them when they were putting their trust in me.

"Aww poor little Laylah..." I was losing control and quickly. I felt the evil magic deep out of me in thick black clouds as it swarmed her. I could barely hear her screams as they sounded faint to my ears. It almost felt as if I was underwater. I kept releasing more and more until I felt a familiar hand on my shoulder.

"Let's get out of here so I can destroy this place." I said blinking a few times to get myself back together.

I quickly turned to the boy who was looking at me with pleading eyes.

"I will not hesitate to kill you if you try anything, and I mean anything." I unclasped his restraints on his ankles and wrists.

"Noah and Lance can you guys help him walk?" They immediately nodded and flung his arms over their shoulders. Just as we were about to leave I spotted a folder on the metal tables down here. I quickly picked it up reading the title.

Daughter of Lucifer unknown and Cora lightwake.

I quickly stuffed it into a built in pocket on the inside of my cloak.

"How exactly do you plan on destroying this base?" I looked up to see Noah looking at me concerned.

"The same way I got us in, with my powers."

We ran up the stairs getting out of this place as fast as we possibly could.

We shoved the metal doors open and the cold breeze greeted us the second we stepped onto the muddy grass outside.

"Get back to the truck." I told them. I turned and faced the building slowly raising my hands.

"Conforndo." I chanted. "Conforndo."

Slowly the walls began to crack but it wasn't enough to destroy the building. I didn't want to use this spell but I knew I was running out of time, before some of the alive guards would wake up.

"Hexarus." I chanted and was immediately flung back onto the shaking ground I started screaming as the ground was tearing beneath me followed by a huge explosion. After that I was consumed by darkness.

"Hello my baby girl."
I looked around and saw that I was sitting in a cell with that boy unconscious next to me.
All I could make out were the iron bars separating me from what seemed like more of the darkness that was surrounding us.

"Who are you?" I Yelled into the nothingness.

"My child it is I." Suddenly a woman appeared out of thin air. Her body vaporized in a way until it was a human being. I jumped back crashing into the cell wall .

She was beautiful and had similar features as me.

"What is happening?" I asked myself gripping at my hair causing a slight sting to form on my scalp.

"What do you mean my dearie." She laughed suddenly the whole room shifted until it wasn't a cell I was in. I was laying down on a table, my hands and ankles in restraints. Similar to how that boy was when we found him.

"Laylah."

"We are going to extract some of your bone marrow. We want to find out everything about you and how you are so special."

"Stop, please." I begged thrashing around on the table as my mother surrounded me with a few other scientists I'm assuming, whom were dressed in white lab coats and masks.

"I'm your daughter." I cried trying to cast a spell but nothing was happening.

"No you were just my experiment." She snapped picking up the scalpel.

I shot up slamming my eyes open gasping for air.

"Hey! Laylah look at me!" Yelled a frantic sounding Noah, but I couldn't focus on him. The picture of Cora holding the scalpel above me was engraved in my mind.

"Laylah please!" He tried shaking my shoulders. I took in our surroundings to see that we were sitting in the backseat of Noah's truck.

"What happened." I breathed rubbing my temples. Trying hard to forget whatever that was.

"You destroyed that lab alright, almost destroyed all of us with it." He sighed looking at me.

"We waited the earthquake out in the truck before going to find you, you were surrounded by rocks and the whole ground was cracked and destroyed around you. It looked like something straight out of a freaking horror movie." He said causing me to laugh.

"Laylah, I know you don't want to tell us, but you can trust us with what you are." He told me putting a reassuring hand on my shoulder giving me a warm smile.

"Even if I could tell you guys, none of you would ever look at me the same." I frowned.

"I think I deserve to know. I mean your planning on taking me there aren't you " A voice chimed in. That damn boy.

"You deserve nothing, I don't even know you." I spat.

"Well you are my sister after all." He spat.

"I have no siblings, you are nothing but a target I am bringing in." I snapped at him trying to keep myself from accidentally killing everyone in this truck.

"Believe me at this point we couldn't look at you differently." Said Noah.

"Well would you look at me differently if you found out I am the future queen of hell." I snapped before I could stop myself, raising a hand over my mouth in shock that I let it slip. I am so stupid. So, so, so stupid.

"What?" Asked a flabbergasted Noah retrieving his hand from mine.

"That's what I thought." Why can't I just be normal, why couldn't I be a human. I could be happy I could share secrets with people without having to worry about them dying. I wouldn't have to report to the council that I could crush with my eyes closed. I wouldn't have these powers.

I frowned and leaned my head against the window of the truck.

"You'll never have to see me again don't worry. Once we get back to your house I will never come back." I frowned fighting the tears that were threatening to come out. I am not weak, I will not cry. I will not.

"Hey, you've proven to us that your different, but your also good, that you have good intentions and that's what matters."

"Besides you better visit, we really need to fill you in on everything you've missed out on, oooo what show should we binge watch first." Squealed Ty practically oozing with excitement.

"Me being the future queen of hell doesn't even phase you a little bit?" I asked completely flabbergasted. How are they not freaking out. That they are sitting in a car with Satan's daughter.

"It is different and kind of scary but your still the Laylah that we became friends with." Smiled Noah squeezing my hand reassuringly. I was in shock, first then wanting to be my friends right when we met to now them being completely fine with who I am.

"There's no promise in when I'll be able to return." I frowned. "But I promise I will try to every opportunity I get."

Once we got back to their house we jumped out and gave each other our last hugs.

"It was really nice getting to know you guys." I smiled.

"Right back at you." Laughed Noah rubbing his fingers through his hair.

I pulled Orpheus with me walking back to that bar.

"Who really are you?" I asked him after a few minutes of complete silence.

"I'm Orpheus, your brother." He said looking dead serious.

"That isn't possible." I said looking up at him.

"Well maybe we can say half. Our mother told them about how she made you. They created an experiment where they used blood samples from majority of the creatures who are supposedly in you."

"Your an experiment." I said.

"So are you, am I right." He said shaking his head at me.

"Come on." I said pushing him through the bar doors. It was quiet again in this bar so getting to the closet wasn't a problem.

I pulled the knife out of the waist of my pants and slid my palm smearing the blood on the back wall of this small closet.

The portal was quickly created and I shoved Orpheus in along with me.

The feeling a nausea washed over me as I felt myself connect with the stone tiles of the palace. I heard screams and the sight in front of me nearly gave me a heart attack.

The castle was a disaster the walls were cracked fire was lining the drapes along the corridor.

"Our Royal highness?" I looked up and saw one of the guards hurry over to us.

"What happened here?" I asked taking in all the chaos before my eyes.

"We were attacked they took the Dark Lord, What will we do now?" He said looking like he was on the verge of breaking.

"Who took him?"

"The phoenix's."
