TO MY READERS,

OKAY, SO I KNOW that a lot of people are surprised by the ending I have chosen for Death's Door, but I'd like to start this author's note by saying that Shay Chambers was always going to die. When I first came up with the idea for this fic, I knew Shay would not survive the plot of Eclipse. Her death was the first thing I wrote for this fic, and while it's obviously hard for me to let her go, I know in my heart that this is a good place to end her story.

In saying that, I have considered writing an AU where Shay is turned into a vampire so she can have her happy ending with Alice and Sebastian, because I'm just as attached to her character as the rest of you are. So, if that is something people are interested in, please message me or comment below so I can start thinking about a plot for her, etc.

(Update: Stop telling me to bring back Shay, she's dead and is staying dead. I changed my mind ages ago and I'm sick of the aggressive comments I'm getting about my own story. Please stop or I'll deadass create a rewrite just to kill her again.)

Aside from that, I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported this story! Whether you started reading when I first published this nine months ago or yesterday, it means so much to me! I know this story has been a lot shorter than the rest of my books, and I know Shay's death is upsetting and even shocking for some of you, but it means a lot to me that anyone was remotely invested in Shay's plot. I didn't expect Death's Door to get so much love, both on quotev and on wattpad, so I'm grateful for every single heart and every single comment that you guys have left for me.

I hope you guys will continue to follow my writing journey, I have a chapter after this that has links to my other stories if any of you have not read them and are interested in doing so!
