"That was easier to make it than I thought" said Light as he was sitting down in front of his desk.
With a satisfied smile on his face, Ha!
"Does it mean that you were able to hide the notebook?" Ryuk asked with curiosity, that this human had found a way to do so.
Light nods his head, "Yeah"
"I hid it right in this drawer" he answer as Light points to the place.
The shingami look at the drawer, for a moment or two.
"But it doesn't seem to be particularly well hidden" Ryuk noticed, that anyone could go in there and find the notebook.

"You left the key in the lock" he tells the human.
"That's the whole point" said Light.
"I intentionally left the key in the most noticeable place I could think off" he tells him as Light went and opened the drawer.

Revealing...

a brown leather diary?

"Isn't that a regular diary?" said Ryuk.
"That's what it is" Light confirmed.
"I'm guessing that once most people find this diary inside my desk, that'll probably satisfy their curiosity" he tells the shingami.

"But the real key...is this" said Light as the boy went and got out a ball pen.
"Just an everyday item you'd expect to find lying around in my life" he states as the shingami was looking at the object in his hand.
"A regular ball-point pen..." Light trailed off as he went and opened it.

"...and all I need is this part" he finishes saying, pulling out the ink reservoir of the pen.

"So that's they key?" Ryuk asked as he stares at it in the human hand.
"Yeah, if you look closely, you'll find there's a small hole underneath the drawer" Light states.
"Then I just insert this..." he said as Light went and insert the ink filler, into the hole underneath the drawer.

"Oop!!!"

Pushing the fake compartment up, opening the bottom of the drawer...to reveal...

"This diary would distract most people, so I doubt anyone would find it" Ryuk stated.
"You have given it so much thought. Though, it's a pretty risk set up from the look of it. If you make even the slightest mistake, you could be barely burned" he informs Light.

Which cause Light to give the shingami a confused look.
"Risky?" he asked, making sure he's heard right.
"You say the strangest thing sometimes, Ryuk" Light states, which made the shingami confuse in return.
"My whole thing has been a risk since the very beginning from the moment I obtained the Death Note" Light pointed out.
"I'm sorry, but compared to that, this doesn't even qualify as a risk to me" he told the shingami.
"In fact, it actually protests me" Light stated with a grin.

"It all comes down to a choice, would I prefer to be executed or deal witu a little house fire"
