Which caused Light to turn to look at him in confusion.

"Don't you see, this is all an accident?" said Ryuk as the human knew that he was chosen by a higher being.
"You actually thought you were chosen because you're so smart or something?" he continue to say.
As Light sat down at the desk, "Don't be vain. It just happened to fall around here and you just happened to pick it up" Ryuk tells him.
Picking up the notebook, "And that's all" he finished saying as Light stared down at in his hands.

But he wasn't buying anything of this, "Then why did you drop it in the first place?" Light questioned.
He stood up from the chair, turning to look at the shinigami.
"You even wrote down specific instructions. So don't try to tell me this was an accident" he point out to Ryuk, holding up the notebook.
"You are asking me why?" the shingami asked and he nod his head.

"I did it cause I was bored" he confessed, making Light become confused.

Y-You were bored?" Light ask back, curiously, never imagined that a being like him...gets bored

"The truth is, Even if you wrote the name of another Shinigami, it would be pointless because they wouldn't die.

And since we live in the Shinigami realm, it brings us no amusement to kill those in the human world either.

So I figured I'd have more fun if I came down here myself" Ryuk explained.

"Anyway..."

"I am surprised at how many names you've written" said Ryuk as the shingami glances at the pages of the Death Note.
"But I want to know why you only wrote the caused of death for that guy who was hit by the truck" he continue to question.

"If you don't write down the cause of death, the victim dies of a heart attack" Light tells him.
"You see, I've already exhausted the list of the world major criminals" he stated.
"And eventually, I'm gonna get rid of them all" said Light.

"What's the point of doing that?" Ryuk asked, wanting to know why he was doing all this for.

"It's only a matter of time before people figure out that these criminals are being elimated by someone. I want the world to know of my existence; that there's someone out there passing righteous on the wicked" said Light.
"Why even bother? What are you trying to achieve by passing judgement on them? I mean, why do you care?" Ryuk questioned.
Wondering why he was doing all this, "Because I've been bored, too" Light admitted.

Which caught the shingami off guard, "I wasn't ready to believe it at first..."

"But it's obvious now. There is something about the Death Note itself, that makes humans want to try it out at least once" Light stated.
