*Dining Room*

The Yagami family and Mia are sitting down at the dinner table, for supper.

The shinigami is also present as well, standing behind Light and Mia.
Though only the two are the only ones, who are aware of the presence of their death god house guest.

"So..."

"Light, tell me how are your studies going?" Soichiro asked, wanting to know how his son was doing with school.

Hm?

"Okay, same as usual" Light answered with a shrug of his shoulder.

As he went and takes a bite of the steamed pork, "Yup. He's at the top of the class as usual! My big brother is a genius" Sayu replied.

Which made a tiny smile to appear on her brother face, "That's my son. We're all proud of you, Light" Sachiko praised him.
"And what about you, Sayu?" Soichiro asked, now directing a question now to his daughter.
"Who, me?" the girl ask back, gestured to herself.
"Are you...sure you want to know?" she continue to say.
"I guess it's...same as usual. For me too" Sayu tells her father how she is doing.
"I see" Soichiro reply with a nod of his head.

"So..."

"...what about your parents, Mia..." Sachiko started to say.
"Huh?" said Mia as she stop eating and look up, realising that she was now involve in the conversation.
"Are they fine letting you stay over for dinner?" Sachiko ask the girl, which caused Mia to look down at her hands in her lap.
"My parents...passed away" Mia stated.

Gasp!

"O-Oh my, I'm so sorry I had to bring that up" Sachiko immediately stutter out a apologise in a panic.
But the girl quickly reassured her, "It's fine, don't worry about it Mrs Yagami. I'm currently living with my older sister, and we both have moved on from their death" Mia tells her.
"That's good to hear" Sachiko replied in relief, glad that the two od them are okay.

Klatter

"Is everything okay, dad? You look tired?" Light ask his father, noticing the expression on his face.

Sigh

"Yeah. I'm not able to say too much about it, but this case I'm working on now is really touch" Sochiro tells them all.
