"Star, come on!" Elio beckoned to his Amaura. The little pokémon bounded after him. "Ra!" it yiped.

"Passport, amulet, bag, potions, pokéballs, hat... and I'm good!" Elio grinned as he made sure his scatterbrained self didn't forget anything.

"Amaura..." Star rolled it's eyes.

"Gah! Right! I forgot... what did I forget?" Elio said blankly.

Star sighed and skipped off. She came back holding in her mouth... a pair of underpants...

"What would I do without you, Star?" Elio laughed and shoved the clothing item into his bag.

"Tini!" Star twittered and jumped to his side

"To victory!" Elio laughed and ran in the direction of Iki Town.

"Maur!"

After searching for Solgaleo for s while, Lillie and Chuchu met up again, exhausted.

"No sign. Where is it?" Chuchu sighed anxiously.

"What in Tapu Koko's name?!" someone cried for far away.

"Mosaaaaaaaaa!"

"That person needs help!" Lillie jumped and dashed the direction of the cry.

A young boy of their age with black hair, grey eyes, and wearing a blue and white stripey shirt, black shorts and a black peaked cap was face-to-face with a creature, an Amaura by his side, a rare sight in Alola.

The creature was huge, with a body and limbs like a stick and gossamer wings that looked like hair. It had piercing eyes and everything about it seemed hostile.

"Pharmooooo!" it cried.

"Help me you two!" the boy shrieked.

"Shadow, take care of this monster!" Chuchu threw her pokéball and her Decidueye popped out.

"Use Spirit Shackle!" Chuchu commanded.

"Deciiiiiid... ueye!" Shadow drew back it's arrow then released, hitting the creature in the face. It flinched, then glared back at them.

"Now it's really mad..." the boy whimpered.

Suddenly they heard the beast.

"Humanity will fall at her hands. And when it does, we shall take this world as our own and have more Ultra Spaces! And then we will not stop until all the universes belong to us!"

"It can talk?!" Lillie gasped.

"Must be telepathically." Chuchu narrowed her eyes.

"Use Phantom Force!" Chuchu commanded. Shadow slinked up to the beast as a, well, shadow and hit it hard. It screeched.

"I'll be back you little brats! And when I am, you will pay!" it screamed and suddenly leaped and flew away. The boy got up with his Amaura.

"Sorry I couldn't help. I only became a trainer recently. That's an amazing Decidueye!" he patted Shadow on the head, standing on his tip toes to do so.

"I'm Elio. Nice to meet you both." he smiled at the girls.

"I'm Lillie, and this is Chuchu!" Lillie introduced.

"Oh yeah! Chuchu the Champion, right? I'm aiming for Champion once I get strong enough, and Star over here is bigger and stronger!" he stroked Star on her mane, making her chitter with delight. "And Lillie. That's a pretty name."

"Maur!" Star whooped.

"It's a relief you're safe." Lillie sighed contently.

"What was that thing?" Elio asked.

"I'm guessing it was an Ultra Beast. But it could talk telepathically..." Chuchu gulped.

"What's an Ultra Beast?" Elio cocked his head.

"Well... it's complicated." Lillie trailed off.

"Lemme guess, it was after this?" Elio suddenly held up a shard. It was silvery and had a snowflake symbol on it.

"Is that a Z-crystal?!" Chuchu gasped.

"Star found it lying on the ground. You really seemed to like it, didn't you girl?" he was still patting his pokémon, and she was liking the attention.

"And that Beast attacked you afterwards?" Chuchu bit her lip. "But what would an Ultra Beast want with an Icium Z?"

"Because that's not just an Icium Z." a voice said mysteriously.

"Hey! Chuchu! Lillie! I'm fine!" Hau came running up to them, smiling, but his leg was wrapped at the knee.

"Your friend here was lucky I saw him fall. He was mostly good and didn't suffer concussion or anything, but he didn't exactly escape without a scratch..." a girl turned her attention to his leg.

"Elleanor, I'm perfectly OK! Guys, this is Elleanor. She rescued me." Hau stretched his arms like usual.

"What happened to you?! We were worried!" Lillie scolded.

"I got knocked out after my gramps sent me flying, this gal-"

"Don't call me a gal."

"Rescued me, took me back to her cabin, patched me up and she showed me why the Ultra Beasts are here and why Nebby is missing!" Hau jumped about excitedly.

"Please! Tell me!" Lillie begged.

"Well, I don't know why they went missing in the first place, but we know how to resummon them! Just head to the Altar of Sunne and the Lake of Moone, then we do some wacko ritual or whatever using special shards known as Z-elements and boom! Nebby and Lunala are ready to assist!" Hau ended.

Elleanor sighed irritably.

"Elio, you found a Z-element." she explained. "That shard gives you a gift with Ice type pokémon as well as minor control over all things winter."

"So... what's going on? Lemme get this straight; weirdo Ultra Beasts attacked me just because I found a stone that gives you ice powers? And I'm part of some crazy spell you need to summon a freaking legendary pokémon?!" Elio gasped.

"Pretty much." Lillie shrugged.
