Chapter Four
Luke stood in the sunbathed courtyard, awaiting the carriage of the Eunelope sisters. He had put on his best tuxedo for the occasion, which had been ironed by Bernard.
As the carriage approached, Luke adjusted his crooked tie and stood in a more upright position.
The two ladies stepped out of the carriage, Yanna wearing a soft pink lace dress and Hara wearing a black satin one piece dress. They both looked stunning.
Yanna waved at Luke, but Hara paid him no mind. Luke waved back to Yanna and gestured for them both to enter the manor.
"After you, ladies."
They stepped inside and set down their things in the parlor, before they allowed themselves to be led away to the dining area for lunch.
Luke, having eaten an early lunch, decided to take a walk in the courtyard to calm his mind and ready himself for the ladies' advances. Although, he very much doubted that Hara would even try to make moves. She'd shown him no emotion ever since they had first met in this life.
Luke sat on a bench outside and let the sun coat his skin, turning him into a beautiful man of summer. He let out a sigh, wishing he had pre-reincarnation Yanna to be with him. At least then, he wouldn't be alone.
The rules of the ladies' contest to have him sleep with them were simple. They were not allowed to bribe Luke, beg him, or in any manner drop hints. They had to say it in some way, loud and clear. No beating around the bush.
The rules had been created by Master Yan, and he was certain that the girls would stick to them. After all, they were children of nobles. Lying and scheming would be a major embarrassment.
As the girls walked out of the manor and found him in the courtyard, their eyes locked onto each other.
Let the games begin.
Yanna skipped down the stone stairs and hurried towards him, bouquet in one hand and a bag of unsweetened cocoa powder in the other.
"Sir Luke, what a pleasure to see you here. I brought you these gifts in the hopes that you would consider coming with me to the ball."
She held them out to Luke, covering her face in embarrassment. Luke accepted them and told her that he would make them both the finest hot chocolate with the cocoa powder.
However, when Luke turned his head to the doors of the manor, Hara had already gone back inside. She clearly thought this a waste of time, and didn't look like she would be making moves on Luke any time soon.
As Luke and Yanna stepped back inside the manor, they saw Kiarha and Hara exchanging wrapped packages. When Luke asked about them, Kiarha deflected with a simple
"Mind your own business, dukey."
Slightly suspicious, Luke bid farewell to Yanna at the parlor and went back up to his room. Once there, Luke opened his bedside drawer and took out "Legendary Artifacts of the Ancients."
He flipped back to the page where the Gem of the Winds had been shown, and noticed a strange symbol on the top right corner of the page. It was a quarter of a diamond. The bottom left quarter, to be exact. It looked like it could be a piece of a puzzle.
I remember this. There was a gem that could collapse reality and rebuild it according to the user's desire. The Amarok of Dyr.
Luke flipped back and forth until he found the strange symbol again, the bottom right quarter this time. He read the gem's description.
The Traveler's Amber is the gem of the earth, and one of the four Gems of Fortune. The one who claims ownership of this gem shall have power over the stones, the grass, and the sands, and speed shall favor him.
Luke found this very interesting, as he could create homes for entire civilizations by simply manipulating the earth in such a way that it would form houses of appropriate size for each potential resident.
Flipping once more, he found the top left quarter and began reading.
The Madman's Amethyst is the gem of the mind and one of the four Gems of Fortune. The owner shall be able to bend minds to his will, as well as increase the power of his own mind, increasing his intellect in turn.
And finally, he found the top right symbol at the very back of the book.
The Wishmaker's Topaz is the gem of the soul and one of the four Gems of Fortune. He who possesses this gem shall have the ability to shape his soul into any form, as well as guard it from fatal damage. He shall also be able to snatch the souls of whoever he desires.
This gem seemed particularly powerful, because he could end someone's life and leave no trace behind whatsoever.
But then, he saw a barely visible cut in the cover of the book. Using his deft fingers, he fished out what looked to be a page of the book, but yellowed and rotten in places.
However, what was clear was the symbol on the top right corner of the page. It showed a full diamond, which could only mean...
Luke looked at the depiction of the gem, and he immediately knew that he had stumbled upon just what he was expecting to find.
The Amarok of Dyr is the Gem of Disorder. He who has fused the four gems of Fortune shall obtain absolute power. The creator and holder shall be able to manipulate reality however they desire, and shall be able to call the gem back should it ever go missing.
And beneath it was a location of the altar where the four gems were meant to be fused. Luke knew that if he wanted to return to his past reality, which he did, he would have to obtain this gem first. And so, he began his quest.
He knew that it would be nearly impossible to find them, because they left no hint as to where they could be. However, there was an alternate scenario that scared him more.
Someone had gotten a hold of the gem and manipulated reality, creating this one where Luke had returned to his younger body.
If that was the case...
Luke knew that he had to find that gem if he wanted to stop the potential destruction of the world. But what he didn't know was how to stop it.
In spite of this, Luke vowed that he would find the gem and return back to his reality, preventing the destruction of this one.

KIARHA'S POV
Kiarha made her way to the back garden, hidden from view. She clutched Hara's package tightly, making sure no one could see it.
She sat down in an area covered in dandelions, the seeds launched upwards and carried by the breeze as she did so.
She looked at the package, wrapped in a small brown box. The contents would help change the world forever, and she vowed that she would rule the new world she would create.
Opening it, she found a small amethyst carved into a diamond, and tucked it into her dress pocket.

HARA'S POV
Hara had safely hidden the book in her purse. Now, came phase two of their plan.
Finding Luke in the hallways, she waited until his back was turned to him before walking up to him and wrapping her arms around his waist.
His soft gasp of surprise was all she needed.
"Greetings, Sir Luke."
She almost laughed as she watched Luke try to stammer our a response, the red on his cheeks growing more and more prominent. He queried nervously, still confused.
"L-Lady Hara. What are you doing?"
"What does it look like?"
She whispered, her lips tantalizingly close to his ear. She hated doing this, but it was worth it if it worked.
"It looks like you're clinging onto me in a very intimate manner..."
"I'll do much more than cling if you come with me to the ball."
Hara could tell Luke was considering her offer, by the fact that his cheeks had bypassed red and turned maroon. After a long minute of silence, he gave an almost imperceptible nod.
Perfect.
Hara smiled smugly and let go, but not before giving him a quick peck on the cheeks. It wasn't part of the plan, but Hara felt it would help further convince him to stay with her.
Later, she was watching the sunset when Yanna came running up to her. She looked angry, as if someone had stolen something from her.
Which Hara had done.
"Sister, why are you angry?"
"You stole Luke from me! I wanted to invite him to the ball, but he told me he was going with you instead!"
She pouted, but Hara paid it no mind.
After all, this was part of her plan to help Kiarha rule the world and claim the position of second queen in turn per their agreement.

LUKE'S POV
Later that evening, Luke prepared his things for Eunelope Manor. He still couldn't believe how Hara had managed to seduce him so easily and convinced him to go with her instead of Yanna.
As they boarded the carriage, both of the sisters leaned their heads on his shoulders, causing his cheeks to blaze crimson. He had two of the prettiest girls he had ever known leaning on him.
As they crossed the river of Flower, he caught sight of the manor. It was a pretty thing, with a beautiful hanging garden on the roof, swaths of jasmine clinging onto the wood.
As they stepped inside, they were welcomed by Master Yan and his wife Helena, who had warm smiles and outstretched hands. Luke shook them both, and prepared himself for the night that lay ahead.
