Feats:

-Hid his identity as a serial killer for almost an entire year

-Tricked Namatame into throwing people into the Midnight Channel

-In one ending, he convinced Yu to destroy the evidence, allowing him to get away with his crimes

Kokonoe: Having not much of a good childhood, preferring to study rather than make friends, Adachi is antisocial yet presents himself as a cherry sort when in public despite not being recognized in favor of younger and more talented detectives. 

Ann: And so he was transferred to Inaba and partnered up with Ryotaro Dijima, the uncle of Yu Narukami, who would come to town a month after Adachi. 

Junko: But we'll get to that later, because before that, he would be tasked to protect a popular girl named Mayumi Yamano. Believing her to be his soul mate after seeing her on the mysterious Midnight Channel or whatever, Adachi ended up indirectly causing her death by shoving her into the TV! Yep, you heard me right!

Kokonoe: Adachi had discovered the TV World.

Kokonoe: A realm forged from the collective unconsciousness of humanity. One can easily enter and drag others into it through a large enough television and Adachi himself possesses a considerable amount of control over his area of the TV World. 

Ann: He can create illusory copies of himself and other large-scale illusions and he's able to teleport objects, people, and himself anywhere he likes. He can prevent others from escaping with spells or items or change the environment and block paths. He can even kick others out of the TV World if he pleases.

Junko: Of course, these powers only apply inside the TV world, but he was just as dangerous out of it. 

Junko: While the guy may act all nice and goofy, in reality, he was incredibly sadistic and apathetic! He's incredibly smart and manipulative, knowing exactly how to get under his opponent's skin!

Kokonoe: It takes one to know one.

Ann: And what would a cop be without his pistol?!

Ann: It's likely a Nambu Model 60, a standard gun used in Japanese law enforcement. These guns carry up to 5 rounds but Adachi always keeps extra bullets.

Kokonoe: Back to his power though, he doesn't just have control over the TV World.

Ann: Oh right, he also has control over Shadows and his very own Persona.

Ann: Shadows and Personas are both the manifestation of one's personality. Adachi can summon both and has complete control over them even though he doesn't have a Wildcard like Yu and Joker. But we can get to his control over shadows later. Let's talk about his Persona, Magatsu-Izanagi!

Ann: Adachi's Persona and the opposite of Yu's own Izanagi, this Persona is incredibly powerful.

Junko: With it, Adachi can keep up with other Persona users like Akihito, Aigis, Yu Narukami, etc! He's even contended with the Velvet Room attendants who are pretty much Persona Gods in the verse!

Ann: And in the Blazblue verse, he's even helped Naoto face Azrael and Iron Tager!

Kokonoe: While the Blazblue universe isn't technically canon to Persona, Adachi has shown his Persona can keep up with the best of the best. He's even helped take down the town-sized Ameno-Sagiri after having already been impaled and beaten down by Sho Minazuki, who's almost as powerful as he is.

Ann: Magatsu-Izanagi is resistant to physical attacks. It absorbs fire, electricity, and wind attacks to heal itself and completely nullifies light and dark attacks.

Junko: It has a poisonous blade and can easily increase its own strength! It can also nullify any stat boost that Adachi's opponents give themselves or any stat debuffs given to himself or his allies! His Persona has a poisonous blade, can temporarily prevent others from using magic, and even has a technique called Mudoon Darkness which has a 60% chance of instantly killing his opponents!

Ann: He can also control wind and electricity. Just like Yu's own Izanami, Adachi's control over electricity is his greatest ability as it allows him to paralyze his opponents.

Junko: He can also summon ghosts!

Kokonoe: With a move called Evil Smile, Adachi can summon purple ghosts that inflict fear onto his opponents once it hits them. Making them too afraid to even fight back.

Junko: And once his opponent is afraid, he can easily have his opponent kill them with Ghastly Wail, which is a powerful downward slash that also inflicts fear!

Ann: And with a powerful, upward slash called Heat Riser, Adachi can piss his opponents off, putting them in an uncontrollable rage that increases their attack power but at the cost of accuracy and decreasing their durability.

Junko: Along with that, he can use an ability called Magatsu Madala!

Junko: Where he creates a red vortex that sucks his opponent in and sends them flying into the air! This move will cause his opponent to panic afterward, making them unable to dodge and causing them to strike at random!

Ann: With all this power it's bad enough that he has control over Shadows. And to make matters worse, he even managed to somehow get control of the Reaper!

Ann: An incredibly powerful Shadow! In fact, it's one of the strongest and the only one capable of giving both S.E.E.S, the Investigation Team, and the Phantom Thieves a hard time! Even the Velvet Room Attendee, Elizabeth, had a hard time putting it down when going up against it physically! This thing has two guns that shoot out not just normal powerful bullets but fire, ice, wind, electricity, and almighty energy! It can greatly increase Adachi's magical attacks and has several light and dark moves that could instantly kill an opponent! It can drain one's life force as well as their magic abilities, and it could nullify any resistance to fire, ice, wind, and electricity! It also nullifies light and dark attacks!

Junko: And when Adachi combines his Shadow manipulation with his Persona, he can perform his Astral Finish! Or Instant Kill, whichever one you prefer... Yomi Drop!

Junko: Adachi summons Magatsu Izanagi as he clutches his head in pain, while Magatsu Izanagi attempts to grab the opponent from the ground! Magatsu Izanagi will then drag the opponent down to a hellish underworld full of Shadows! After that, the persona will strike down on his opponent with his sword, tearing the apart!

Kokonoe: All to achieve victory by any means... but while his power is impressive, Adachi is a very flawed human being.

Ann: Yeah, he's incredibly arrogant and sadistic, but he can also come off as lazy and overconfident in his skills. In fact, he's a bit too reliant on his Persona when using it in combat. Sure he can throw a few punches himself, but he rather has someone else do all the fighting for him as he's always taking the easy way out.

Kokonoe: This was the biggest flaw in Adachi's character. And after taking on Yu Narukami and the Investigation team, even after taking down all of Yu's shadows and nearly killing him, the Investigation team still managed to achieve victory... taking him out and forcing him to have a different perspective on life. So he turned himself in to the police and spent his days in prison where he would finally make peace.

Junko: But we all know that's not the end of his story! Adachi will be back, and when he is... it will spell chaos for whoever is on the opposing side!

Adachi: Why choose reality when you can have a world of your own making? That's clearly the choice, y'know...I mean come on, we all prefer the easier life. Hehehehe... You see, all reality ever gives you is boredom and bickering. And no one truly wants to live in a world like that. It's only because they think they have to accept it that they choose to buck up and deal. There's only one thing that's going to set you apart and let you succeed in life: it's the magic ticket they call 'talent'. And if you don't have it, then you're left to rot in despair. Game over. So wouldn't we be better off without this reality crap? Someday, you'll all understand what I'm saying. No matter what you try and do, reality sucks. And I, for one, am sick of it.
