Kokonoe: For years, Fishman have been seen as nothing more than monsters towards humans. And while some Fishman tried to take peaceful strides in making humanity not hate them, others used a more forceful method to get their point across.

Junko: Enter Fisher Tiger! A Fishman and Captian of the Sun Pirates, who was well known for freeing not just imprisoned Fishman, but even humans and Amazon's like Boa Hancock! However, Good ol' Fisher still had a deep hatred for humans... which would eventually lead to his death. 

Kokonoe: And nobody was more upset by this than the man who hated humans the most, Arlong.

Junko: Yeah, after Fisher's death, his good pal Jinbei was in charge and became a Warlord of the Sea, meaning he basically serves humans for the sake of Fishman. But Arlong wasn't a big fan of this, so he went out and took his Crew with him, becoming known as the Arlong Pirates! With his own crew, Arlong set out to a small island and pretty much took it over. Killing former marine Bell-mère and forcing her daughter, Nami, to go out and steal treasure and write maps all day... basically making Nami's life a living hell.

Ann: Well, she couldn't just disobey him. Arlong is an incredibly strong foe.

Ann: As a Fishman, he's ten times stronger than an average man. He can casually lift and throw houses and crush bones with a single stomp! 

Junko: He can rip a large chunk of stone from the ground and chew through stone pillars, swords, and even cannonballs!

Ann: He's also really fast!

Kokonoe: He can launch himself at high speeds and easily react to Sanji's kicks and Usopp's sneak attack. He can even catch cannonballs in his mouth and keep up with Luffy, who at the time was capable of taking on opponents that move faster than the eye can track. And lets not forget that he's much stronger and faster when underwater.

Junko: But with immense strength comes incredible durability!

Junko: He remained conscious after getting stabbed through the chest by a beam of light! He even survived getting beat to a pulp by Jinbe!

Ann: He took an onslaught of attacks from Luffy and shrugged them off. He even got hit by Usopp's Gunpowder Star, which only pissed him off. 

Kokonoe: He even survived getting smashed through six floors and then having an entire building fall on him.

Junko: Yeah, his Fishman body comes with a lot of benefits. One of those benefits is his nose!

Junko: Standing over a foot long and filled with razor sharp points, Arlong's nose is extremely tough and durable! It was even claimed to be unbreakable! Until... well... Luffy broke it. But Arlong fixed it moments later like it was nothing.

Ann: He also has his teeth!

Ann: Arlong's teeth are razor sharp and designed to tear through flesh and bone! They can be ripped from his mouth, but like any shark his teeth will grow back twice as strong.

Junko: He has plenty of moves too! Like Shark on Darts!

Junko: Where he launches himself at high speeds and stabs his opponent with his nose! It can be used consecutively and is faster underwater! It's also faster when he's given enough distance to build it up! He has an advanced version called Shark on Tooth where he spins around with his jaws open!

Ann: As far as weapons go, he has a Flintlock Pistol.

Ann: The gun he used to kill Bell-mère. These types of guns normally hold up to five bullets.

Junko: Or he can splash water droplets at his opponent. For him humans are so fragile, he can toss waterdrops like they were bullets!

Kokonoe: And his main weapon..his blade, Kiribachi.

Kokonoe: This giant sword has six "teeth" along its cutting edge. It can slice through buildings and he can use it to climb up buildings by spinning around like a buzzsaw.

Ann: But despite her incredible size and strength, Arlong isn't completely unstoppable. 

Junko: Yeah, Arlong has a really... really shaky win/loss record. Even his victories over Zoro and Sanji were due to them already being previously injured. He's overconfident and looks down on anyone who isn't a Fishman. This, along with his very short temper, makes him act pretty reckless around others.

Ann: Still, Arlong is a very powerful Fishman, and the last person in the East Blue you'd want to mess with.

Arlong: This is the power that we Fishmen are born with. A power that the heavens did not bestow upon your race. Which is why YOU are the inferior species! We're on completely different levels from the moment of our birth!
