Kokonoe: Born in a modest family, young William Baker was abandoned by his father and left in poverty with his alcoholic mother.

Junko: The usual background of any villain. They never have loving parents. I mean, this is why guys like this first turn to violence and then turn to crimes before going by a dumb name like "Flint Marko"!

Kokonoe: William would constantly end up in and out of jail. One day, during a casual jailbreak, he managed to take refuge on a beach.

Ann: Oh, that doesn't sound too bad.

Kokonoe: That just so happened to be the site of a nuclear test.

Ann: Nevermind...

Kokonoe: Caught by the radioactive blast, the molecules of William's body merged with the sand beneath, transforming him into... the Sandman.

Junko: A much better name than Flint! He used his newfound powers to resume his criminal career, becoming one of the most dangerous villains Spiderman ever had! And with good reason. Sandman is incredibly strong!

Junko: When I say he's one of the toughest Spider-Man villains, I wasn't kidding. He's capable of easily tossing bulldozers, ripping through metal, and tearing apart tanks! He's not just able to take on Spider-Man, but even the Fantastic Four! Breaking out of Invisible Woman's Force Fields and going toe-to-toe with heavy hitters like The Thing and even the Incredible Hulk! And the more sand he absorbs, the stronger he gets!

Ann: He's also really fast!

Ann: He's kept up with Sider-man on numerous occasions and can even throw sand faster than Nova can react! He can dodge Rhino's charge and even move out the way of a water jet. He gets faster the more sand he absorbs.

Junko: Lastly he's incredibly durable.

Junko: He can take hits from Spider-Man, Rhino, and Mr.Fantastic. Bullets and tank shots don't harm him, acid webs don't even phase him, and he can even take hits from Hydroman... the guy literally made of water... which Sandman is weak to.

Kokonoe: Most of the time though he doesn't need to worry about durability thanks to his sand body.

Kokonoe: Due to the huge amount of radiation he absorbed while surrounded by sand, his body is now made up of malleable sand.

Ann: He can control all the grains of sand in his body with his mind. He can still bleed and feel pain though... it depends on his form and mental state.

Kokonoe: Sandman can also control his bodies density.

Kokonoe: Making himself as soft as sand or as hard as iron.

Junko: Hard huh? Sometimes I don't even have to try.

Ann: This ability makes him immune to any physical attack or shotgun blast! Any punches will phase through his body and he can even trap people like Spiderman and the Trapper into his body.

Junko: And he can shapeshift his body!

Junko: Turning his whole body into anything he desires! Turning his arms into a club, hammers, fists, giant maces, giant spiky sticks, walls, basically anything!

Kokonoe: He can impersonate other people perfectly, changing his appearance, size, and even his voice. He can crawl on walls like Spider-man, turn into a dust-like sand substance to phase through objects, stretch his body out like Mr.Fantastic or Plastic Man, or even change his size.

Junko: Change his size? The guy's already six feet. What, does he grow one or two more inches or some-

Junko Holy SH**T!!!

Kokonoe: Depending on how much sand he absorbs, he can increase his size and grow bigger than skyscrapers, terrorizing the city like Godzilla.

Ann: But he doesn't just have control over his own sand but also the sand around him.

Ann: He has full control over any amount of sand he comes in contact with. This ability allows him to create devastating sandstorms, fire sand projectiles, smother others in sand, or put sand in his opponent's body and cause them to blow up from the inside out... um... ew.

Junko: Um awesome! Think about all the sandcastles you could make! And since there's no limit to how much sand he can control, he's basically unbeatable in places with tons of it! He can take control of an entire desert and make as many sandcastles as he wants! Just imagine if he was on Tatooine though... Anakin Skywalker will not be happy. Oh yeah, and he can also summon sand clones!

Junko: He can create an army of clones depending on how much sand is around him. Each clone is as fast, strong, and durable as Sandman himself. They even have minds of their own! Which can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Ann: For him or his opponent?

Junko: Yes.

Kokonoe: But more impressively, he can alter his sand particles and become Glass Sandman.

Kokonoe: In this form, he can reflect light and energy. And even if he were shattered, he could always piece himself back together though as broken glass.

Ann: But if he were to be put in this form through different means such as through heat, he won't be able to turn back to sand.

Kokonoe: But it would be bad if we didn't include his Enhanced Armor.

Kokonoe: Made up of Reed Richards' stolen technology, this suit has been with him through most of his career... more specifically during his appearances against the Fantastic Four. With this suit, he can mix chemicals with his sand to perform new attacks, such as... creating a slippery puddle, make himself as hard as a brick...

Junko: Hehehe...

Kokonoe: ... it lets him stick on surfaces and even coat his sand with a substance that turns into a poisonous powder when it becomes heated.

Junko: It would be badass if it didn't look so dumb.

Ann: Still, with all this up his sleeve, you would think he would have no problem taking on a teenage boy in a suit who swings around buildings and calls himself a spider right?

Kokonoe: Well true... compared to Spider-Man's other villains, Sandman isn't the guy you can necessarily beat with your fist... however he isn't unbeatable.

Junko: Yeah, Sandman can easily take damage from water. It slows him down and makes him less agile. Not to mention too much of it can tear him apart. Oh, the same thing can be said for poison though not to the same extent.

Ann: And it's bad enough his clones could potentially turn on them since they all have a mind of their own. He can also be caught off guard by surprise attacks or struggle with opponents faster than himself.

Kokonoe: But his biggest weakness is the Queen Bee Particle... a single grain of sand in Sandman that contains his brainwaves. It controls all the sand particles in Sandman and if it were to be destroyed or compromised Sandman will no longer be able to control his body and won't be able to keep his form.

Junko: Nah, his biggest weakness is his intelligence. He's not that bright and that allows weaker but smarter opponents than himself to get the drop on him. Not really a good trait to have for a villain.

Kokonoe: That's the thing though, he's not necessarily a bad guy. He's tried changing his ways and joining Spiderman to stop other villains and had once even joined the Avengers and partnered with the Fantastic Four. While he does commit a lot of crimes, he normally prefers to do it with as few casualties as possible.

Junko: Because even when he's good, he'll always come back to his old ways. He's another crook after that sweet, sweet money!

Sandman: When I saw those bad guys gone good on TV, part of me thought they were crazy. But I gotta admit, doing the right thing like this... It feels pretty damn good.
