Mukuro: Survivor of a great quake that sunk part of Tokyo, Masane Amaha is a mother with no memory of her past. 

Junko: She wasn't exactly the mother of the year either. Always on the run from Childs Welfare Services because they don't think she's the real mother of her adopted daughter, Rihoko Amaha! But still, it's not like Masane could run forever. Eventually, she was found, arrested, and her daughter was taken away from her for good... that is until she awakened her Witchblade!

Mukuro: The Witchblade is the offspring of the universe's primal forces, the Angelus and the Darkness. To avert mutual destruction, a truce was struck. The Angelus and the Darkness consummated and in so doing conceived the Witchblade, creating peace and balance between them.

Junko: This has nothing to do with Masane, but let's just say that there were many wielders of the Witchblade, and Masane herself is the second to last person to hold the thing. Other wielders include Joan of Arc and even non-canon chicks like Wonder Woman! The Witchblade is one powerful weapon!

Mukuro: What the Witchblade does is help Masane transform.

Mukuro: This Witchblade form grants Masane immense speed, strength, and durability that she could never have as a normal human.

Junko: She can effortlessly rip through steel and destroy robots and tanks, easily break through stone, and once jumped off a building so hard she damaged it! Even while heavily sedated, she managed to knock down an Iron Door and take out several guards!

Mukuro: She can easily move faster than the eye can see. Noticing and deflecting gunfire as well as avoiding rocket fire. However, the Witchblade's most recognizable power is its ability to cover its host in protective armor, which adapts depending on how much damage the user is receiving. At its default form, the armor covers only the most sensitive areas around the user and usually takes the form of a metal-like bikini. If the user receives continuous damage, the armor can cover the whole body. Because of the sharp surface of the armor, it always shreds the wielder's clothes. The armor itself is incredibly strong and is impervious to all manner of firearms, explosives, and even energy blasts.

Junko: That explains how she can come back unphased after being hit in the head by a missile twice! She's had her limbs impaled, got electrocuted, and even got hit into concrete so hard that it cracked, yet she was fine!

Mukuro: The Witchblade makes her immune to most physical attacks as well as fire and ice. She gets a healing factor and becomes immune to diseases. Previous users have even healed others.

Junko: Masane Also gets a neat little blade.

Junko: This long blade can extend and become as big as she wants. It can also cut through almost anything. She can even grow spikes on her knees.

Mukuro: Not just that but she can grow four extendable appendages that can grow out of her newly grown red hair. These um... hair blades can move much faster than the eye can see and even extend to great lengths.

Junko: But if she wants to go all out, she can use her Ultimate Form.

Junko: In this form, all her stats are boosted! She's much stronger, can fly, and so much more! She basically gains the full power of her Witchblade... sorta.

Mukuro: Other wielders of the Witchblade have shown the ability to summon flames and Masane in this form might not be too different. Either that's from shooting fireballs or infusing her blades into flames or-

Junko: Or in Masane's case, blowing herself up into kingdom come.

Mukuro: But Masane isn't exactly the strongest wielder of the Witchblade... and for good reason.

Junko: Yeah, Masane wasn't exactly the intended user of Witchblade. Because of this, she can't exactly control the thing. She gets an almost unsatiable urge for battle, almost erotic pleasure from destruction. This gets worse in her Ultimate Form.

Mukuro: It's also because of this that going into her transformations will take a toll on her body. This gets worse in her Ultimate Form and staying in either form for too long will eventually kill her.

Junko: But even if she is one of the weakest people to use the Witchblade, she'll do whatever it takes to protect her daughter... even at the cost of her own life.
