Kokonoe: Dream Land is a very peaceful place to be.

Ann: And the civilians are so cute!

Junko: Yeah, but you'd never guess these civilians are led by the tyrannical King Dedede! Who um... isn't really as evil as the other three guys in this fight. In fact, he's actually a pretty good guy at times. And everything was going pretty well for him too until one pink marshmallow of death named Kirby came along and grew in popularity. 

Kokonoe: Dedede was understandably upset about Kirby's arrival, to the point that he would make it his goal to surpass his new rival.

Junko: Luckily Dedede is incredibly strong!

Junko: He's easily capable of sending people flying with a single hammer swing! His battles with Kirby destroyed concrete walls and pillars! Hell, just being as strong as Kirby is impressive considering the Lil guy is strong enough to split a planet in two! He can easily bust through buildings, volcanic rock, stone pillars, and planet-sized monsters with ease!

Kokonoe: He's been electrocuted, frozen solid, buried alive, crushed, and even thrown into the sky... many... many times. He's survived planetary reentry, getting hit by giant lasers, can withstand a ton of heat, could take a planet-sized explosion, survived getting sucked into a black hole, and many more.

Ann: Suffice to say, Dedede is incredibly durable. He's also fast enough to keep up with Kirby's warp star, which can move faster than light. And he's capable of going toe to toe with Meta Knight, who can fly from the other side of the galaxy and back in mere seconds.

Kokonoe: Also he somehow learned how to fly like Kirby... how in the-

Junko: Well at least he's a good swimmer too! And he's also learned a few more techniques from copying Kirby! Like the inhaling technique!

Junko: That's right, King Dedede can suck his opponents into his mouth and copy their abilities!

Kokonoe: Actually, that part is one thing he hasn't copied from Kirby. Instead, he spits his opponent out, sending them flying wherever he pleases.

Ann: But he would be nothing without his hammer!

Ann: His signature weapon! It's sharp enough to cut through rope... somehow. With a single swing, he can cool molten lava! He can toss it like a boomerang and it will come back to him! He can surround his hammer in flames and even fire off small energy blasts! Or he can throw his hammer at his opponent and make it blow up in their face! Oh yeah, his hammer also comes with a rocket!

Ann: This Jet Hammer lets him charge up a hammer swing that can deal a ton of damage! But if he charges it up for too long, it'll blow up in his face. Don't worry though, he has loads to spare. No, I'm not kidding, if he ever loses one, he can just pull another one out of thin air. 

Junko: He has so many hammers, like the Bluster Hammer that controls the wind, the Zap Hammer that controls electricity, the Splash Hammer that controls water, the Blizzard Hammer that lets him control and manipulate ice, and the Sizzle Hammer that manipulates fire. 

Ann: But his most powerful hammer of all is his Star Rod Hammer!

Ann: Definitely his biggest hammer yet that was created by the Star Rod with some of the magical powers of the Star Rod. With it, he can fire ten magical projectiles at once, create massive shockwaves, increase his speed, grow in size, or even summon clones of himself!

Kokonoe: These clones are much smaller than Dedede himself, but do share the same strength as him. He can summon up to 63 at a time and they can be taken down with one hit.

Ann: Also... Dedede can summon his minions to his side... whenever he wants... hey Junko, whatever happened to their minions not being used in this Death Battle?

Junko: So I forgot both Bowser and Dedede are capable of summoning allies whenever, so what. It only makes things much more fun. Oh yeah, Dedede also has a ton of bombs.

Junko: Yeah, he's the type who would throw a bunch of bombs at you just to get the win. He'd even put a bomb in a bubble and have it float toward you... but like any boss fight, they tend to be redirected right back at him.

Kokonoe: Then there are his Boost Orbs.

Kokonoe: Boost orbs are special equipment granted during the Platinum league in Kirby Battle Royale that unlocks special abilities to aid the user in battle. These orbs are available for Kirby, Meta Knight, Bandana Dee, and the King as well.

Junko: Some of them increase his speed and strength. The metal one makes you invincible for 10 seconds but makes him really heavy. The invisible one makes you transparent and untouchable for 15 seconds. There's a deflector that lets you brush off attacks for 60 seconds and even spicy curry that lets you breathe fire for 10 seconds. There's even one that lets you go berserk, but Dedede can do that without the Orbs.

Junko: A state he's in once he takes enough damage. He pretty much goes berserk as his hits are much stronger and every attack causes an explosion. He can even fire exploding stars.

Kokonoe: He can teleport, shoot electricity from his hands, and can even fire Friend Hearts.

Junko: Dedede has the power to throw an unlimited supply of hearts. When these hearts touch another enemy, that enemy's moral compass is automatically oriented towards serving Dedede as his ally, following his every command until Dedede decides to "unfriend" said ally. The ally also gains the ability to toss Friend Hearts and generally becomes comparable to Dedede in power as a result of the friending. The only ones unaffected by the Hearts are those who are truly corrupted and evil, who simply take minimal damage upon touching them.

Ann: And let's not forget about Masked Dedede!

Junko: When wearing this mask, Dedede's power is highly increased and his inhaling ability is too! 

Ann: He even has a new electric hammer capable of generating electric shockwaves! It can also work as a flamethrower and missile launcher! He can even combine his mask with his giant form!

Junko: As a giant, penguin kaiju, Dedede is much stronger and his hammer can, of course, create massive shockwaves. His mask can also increase his durability so weaker attacks have no effect on him and only stronger ones can harm him.

Kokonoe: But Dedede isn't too overpowered and can be beaten.

Kokonoe: In fact, he's been constantly defeated by Kirby and his friends. His overconfidence can get the best of him and while he is smarter than he appears, he's not exactly a super genius.

Junko: Also his minions can sometimes be a bit lazy or tend to do whatever the hell they want. Hell, some of them have even been caught sleeping on the job.

Ann: He can get vulnerable when he gets dizzy and he's shown to also be vulnerable to mind control and possession... as it has been shown... many... many... MANY times!

Kokonoe: But don't let this penguin's size fool you, for he truly is one of the toughest kings out there... King Dedede.

Dedede: When you lose I get to laugh at you... Big time! Ha-ha-ha!!
