Kokonoe: Many, many years ago in a world filled with magic, there was a kind doctor whose real name is unknown. He knew healing magic that wasn't powerful, but let him heal the injuries of both humans and dragons.

Junko: But at this time, humans and dragons were at war with each other. So imagine the doctor's surprise when he comes home only to find his village destroyed by the same dragons he healed with his magic!

Kokonoe: Understandably angered by this, the doctor devoted himself to one goal in mind... kill all dragons.

Junko: The issue is, killing a Dragon is like... super difficult. But that wouldn't be a problem since Irene had made a form of magic that could fight back against them. This magic... was Dragon Slayer Magic.

Ann: The nameless doctor seemingly taught himself Dragon Slayer magic and was actually pretty good with it... having killed more dragons and humans than anyone else at the time. Causing the dragon population to nearly go extinct and making his name known as Acnologia.

Junko: Wait wait wait... humans?

Ann: Oh right, I should point out that there's a little bit of a catch to Dragon Slayer magic... since it originates from Dragons, using too much of it could cause you to turn into a dragon yourself... which was exactly what happened to Acnologia. Once he bathed in the blood of his enemies and had become that of which he despised the most, he took his role as a Dragon a little too seriously. And so he murdered his allies and enemies, causing mayhem wherever he went for the next 400 years.

Junko: Damn! Even after he had learned to turn from dragon to human at will, he was still a force to be reckoned with! This guy's incredibly strong!

Junko: The guy can take on seven Dragon Slayers and toss them around like rag dolls! He ripped through God Serena's abdomen with a swipe of the palm of his hand, pummeled Cobra with a kick, and slammed Laxus into crystal so hard it shattered!

Ann: He's fast enough to keep up with the strongest of wizards, can dodge beams of light, and even keep up with Dragon Slayers capable of dodging lightning!

Junko: Gajeel's Iron Dragon Sword couldn't even pierce him, Laxus' lightning punch was taken like it was nothing, and he can even take hits from the first Dragon Slayer, Irene! And that chick can send down meteors big enough to destroy a country! By the way, there's another guy named Guildarts who can shatter anything with a punch... he somehow managed to piss Acnologia off and despite how incredibly overpowered he was, it still wasn't enough to take the guy down!

Kokonoe: Part of this could be because of his Dragon Slayer Magic.

Kokonoe: Magic specifically used to kill Dragons. Thanks to this, Acnologia has a heightened sense of smell and a ton of power to go with it. While it's not announced what type of Demon Slayer magic Acnologia has, he seems to possess the ability to consume the souls of Dragons he's killed. He's become immune to all things magic and can replenish himself so long as he eats something with magic properties.

Junko: It also lets him use moves like the Dragon's Eruption!

Junko: Where he raises his arm and unleashes a giant blast of energy beneath his opponent's feet!

Kokonoe: Or the Dragon Flash.

Kokonoe: Where he raises his finger and fires a giant blast of magic.

Ann: There's also his Dragon's Breath.

Ann: Not to be mistaken for his much more powerful Dragons Roar, which we'll get to later. His Dragon's Breath is when he opens his mouth and fires off numerous explosions!

Junko: Speaking of explosions, we're finally at his Dragon's Explosion!

Junko: Where Acnologia says fuck it and creates a giant, omnidirectional explosion around him!

Ann: On top of all this, he can still turn into a massive Dragon.

Junko: Oh yeah! In this form, Acnologia is so badass he can create shockwaves just by flying around and can reduce a substantially sized area to rubble by simply landing on top of it! He can also take on the strongest of the Fairy Tail Guild without a scratch! Not only has he wrestled with and taken down Guild Master Makarov, but he's even butted heads with the Dragon King, Igneel himself, and tore him to shreds!

Ann: In this form, Acnologia can use his signature Dragon Slayer Roar.

Ann: A huge beam of energy powerful enough to blow up an entire island and imprint a giant crater into the ocean!

Junko: And my personal favorite, the Eternal Flare!

Junko: Where he casts starry lights in the sky, which rain down in a massive radius as beams with an intense destructive force that create huge explosions on impact strong! This technique alone is powerful enough to destroy an entire country!

Kokonoe: But more importantly is his Time Magic.

Kokonoe: After devouring the Ravine of Time, an entire pocket dimension made of magic that exists between time and space, Acnologia grew even more powerful. Now he can bring anyone he wants into his own Space between Time, turning them into a crystal or simply fighting them head on as a spirit while his fleshy body causes mindless destruction until he comes back.

Junko: This magic was so incredibly powerful, it would have given Acnologia control over time and space if Natsu and the gang didn't use the Power of Plot Armor to take him down!

Ann: Well, it comes to show that Acnologia is not unstoppable.

Ann: The guy's highly arrogant, but like many Dragon Slayers he can't ride on any vehicle or he'll get motion sickness.

Junko: And while he can fight people as a spirit in his dimension, he's still connected to his fleshy dragon body in the real world. So if either one is defeated, the other can no longer move.

Kokonoe: His dragon form isn't completely invincible either, given the fact Igneel was able to bite off his arm before getting himself killed. On top of that, he's still technically weak to Dragon Slayer magic... it just does barely any damage to him.

Junko: Well duh! Even Zeref himself admitted he needed to become a God just to get to this guy's level! It took an entire country just to hold down his Dragon form and the combined power of seven Dragon Slayers to finish this beast off!

Ann: Even though he has a limited amount of magical power, Acnologia is still the most dominant figure in Fairy Tail history. Truly deserving of the name... Black Dragon of the Apocalypse.

Acnologia: I see that I must teach you... why they call me the Dragon King!!!!
