Both are giant reptilian monsters that serve as antagonists in a live action sci-fi movie that are released within a one year gap

Both fought a giant ape (Kong and George respectively) and would've killed them had it not been for the interference of a human who came to their aid (Davis Okoye and Mason Weaver respectively). Both would seek to kill them as well, but are slain by the giant apes they attempted to kill (George impaled Lizzie in the eye and brain while Kong ripped out Ramarak's tongue and organs)
