As you may know, this book was based off of a real case that happened in Japan. I changed the names to make it Americanized because I didn't know how to properly write this without ostracizing the Japanese culture.

The story is written as a journal entry because I wanted to be able to mention the torture the boys put Furuta  through without getting too graphic. I also didn't want this story to become sexualized because I have seen bdsm smut about this story and it disgusts me. I'm not kink shaming, but Junko Furuta's suffering shouldn't be sexualized because she was not in a consenting, adult relationship.

I actually left out some truly disturbing details from the case, but everything in the story was true, from the methods of torture to the boy's sentences. If you have questions about which parts are true, feel free to contact me.
