As soon as the paramedics get here, they stick the needle into my arm and inject the fluid in, quickly after opening my airway.

I gasp for air and cough a few times.

"Here, sit her down. She needs air," Cass says quickly.

Max sits me on the padded couch, where I then lean forwards and continue focusing on my breathing.

"You alright?" Max asks softly.

I nod and smile a bit. "Yeah.. Thanks." I say softly, my heart racing.

"Y'know Max, you're getting good at this saving people's lives thing." Cass teases.

Max just rolls his eyes. "You're lucky I was there to save your life when you needed your life to be saved."

"I know, I know. I'm just teasing." She laughs.

Max mutters something that I don't quite catch, but I don't bother to ask.

"We should pay the bill and go," Cass says and begins to pull out her wallet.

"I agree. But we also don't want to move her around too much," Ross pipes in.

"Guys, I'm fine." I breathe and slowly stand up.

"You sure?" Max asks, furrowing his eyebrows as he stands up straight.

I nod and smile. "Yeah. See, I'm talking normally, aren't I?"

"Yeah.. We gotta move quickly though. If Andréa was bailed.. She could be anywhere. Her personality could also be completely changed." Max says quickly.

"But I'm not willing to take that chance. We have to keep your girlfriend safe, Max." Cass says quickly.

He nods and breathes out. "You're right - let's go." He says quickly then stands up.

"I'll pay. Max, you take TJ to the car. I'll be right out." Cass says and waves for us to go.

He nods and turns then leaves with me quickly following behind him.

Tim and Ross follow as well. "Keep in mind, she could be around here, Max. So we have to get to the cars quickly, and if we see her, duck. She can't see us." Ross says quickly.

"I know, I know. I'm not looking to put TJ in any danger either." Max says quickly as he unlocks the car.

I pull the door open and hop into the back seat.

"Hey, Max? Why are we running from this girl?"

"Because.. Cass and I were hanging out this one day in Hawaii, Andréa being a huge fan that none of us knew, long story short she thought Cass and I were dating or something, hunted her down and shot her, nearly costing Cass her life."

"Oh.. And you don't want the same thing to happen to me?" I ask.

"Definitely not. Adam would have our heads." Max says and looks at me.

I nod and look out my window, scanning every face although I don't know what this girl looks like.

I eventually see Cass walk out, looking around cautiously as she approaches the car eventually stopping for a couple of seconds before walking the rest of the way to the car.

"What was that pause for?" Max asks as Cass gets in and shuts the door.

"I saw someone with blonde hair- along with a man, who I thought was Andréa and you know who so.."

"Yeah. I got it," Max says and starts the car then pulls out of the parking spot.

Only about ten minutes later, we're at the house, everyone searching for any news reports.

We all hear a knock on the door, and everyone's heads snap up, all in the direction of the door.

"I got it," Max says and gets up then walks over to the door.

I stare in the direction he left and sigh in relief when Max returns with Adam.

"Guys, on my drive here you'd never guess who I saw.." Adam breathes.

Cass stares at Adam for a couple of seconds. "That's not funny, Adam."

"I'm being serious. She's in town but.. Her appearance changed. I'm just happy she didn't notice me."

"Well, what does she look like now?" Max asks, raising his eyebrows.

"She cropped her hair, I wouldn't say as a bob or pixie but it's definitely shorter.. And her hair is dyed a bit of a darker blonde."

Cass chews on her lower lip and fidgets.

"It'll be fine though.. If we see her out in public, we turn and go the other way."

I nod in agreement and look around at everyone.

"I agree." Cass says. "I don't understand why they would let someone bail her out of jail when she attempted murder."

"Exactly. She nearly took your life with that bullet and- I'm not even going to go into details. We need to keep everyone we know, and care for safe." Max says quickly.

"Was she with anyone?" Cass asks, looking over at Adam again.

"No. Thankfully. She may have been, but I didn't see anyone."

Cass sighs in relief. "Good. But who could have bailed Derek?"

Adam shrugs and runs a hand through his hair. "I don't know.. But that doesn't matter right now. What does, is that we need to keep as much distance as we can from her."

I blink a couple times. I don't even know this girl, but after finding out what she's done.. I'm going to avoid her at all costs.

"Hey, how about we go somewhere? Just to get our mind off of her?" Adam offers.

"Sure," Tim says. "How about we go bowling? All in favor?"

I raise my hand slowly, everyone else deciding they want to bowl as well.

"Cool. Let's go," Tim says and gets up.

Everyone else gets up, and I decide to ride with Adam in his car, Max and Cass taking the back seat, and Tim and Ross taking Ross' car.

"Let's just hope she doesn't show up there," Cass breathes.

I nod a bit. "Agreed." I pipe in.

"Should I call Red to join?" Max asks.

"Sure. He might be busy, but it's worth a shot."

Max is on the phone a few seconds later.

"Hey, Red? You wanna go bowling? Sure, why not. Alright. See you soon. Okay, bye." Max hangs up after the last sentence.

"Is he gonna bring anyone?" Adam asks.

"Yeah. He's taking Jordan."

Right.. Jordan doesn't know I can speak yet. Well, neither does Red. This'll be.. Interesting.
