The Original Chaos Sagas and Chronicles of the Prophecies Plans
As you can see, The Rising Storm was originally called The Restless Storm. There was also originally going to be one arc and three side stories.
The first arc was going to be called The Endless Storms and the three side stories were going to be a collective series called A New Beginning. It consisted of The Robin's Call, The Sand's Flow, and The Shadow's Cast. (A New Beginning was changed to be a story in a second arc of The Chaos Sagas. The Robin's Call likely influenced the name for The Calling Jay)
Willowshine is also noticeably missing from the main cast. She was actually a last minute addition to the main cast while I was writing The Soothing Storm.
It also appears I did not have a Dark Forest arc. That meant Blackthorn likely wasn't intended to be a traitor to StarClan.
This Nightstorm character was also intended to be an introduced character in The Restless Storm. They would have been Scorchfur's apprentice in The Soothing Storm instead of Dawnpaw. I know this because of my plans I made for the second three-story arc of The Star's Wrath arc of The Chaos Sagas before I made changes in the plot. When I revised and re-edited the plot, I saw that name as one of the important characters in my plans for The Darkest Night and The Rising Storm. I guess the name stayed for awhile, but ended up being never used.
It also appears that I didn't intend for Redtuft's side series, which meant she would have never ran away in the attack on the patrol in my original plans. I also never intended for the Clans Saga to be implemented into The Chaos Sagas until I realized that I could add an alternative world to what happened in A Prophecy of Four. So, the Clans Saga was created during the writing of The Soothing Storm.
Now, for names. It appears that the characters for Hollythorn and Hollyheart were supposed to be swapped. Ashstar was originally going to be called Ashfall, as homage to A Prophecy of Four, instead of Ashstorm.
Fireclaw never becomes a main character. That was also a last minute decision right before I started writing The Rising Storm. When I was just about to wrap up The Soothing Storm.
It seems I was experimenting different names.
It seems I had plans for a Dawnstar and Sunshine story for Chronicles of the Prophecies. War for Peace might have been a spin on the Harmony of War story that is planned for CotP.
I have no clue what Sunfall and Moonrise would have been about, but that was a planned story as well.
Fire and Flames, One and the Same, and Cold Stones of Dusk might have been planned stories for CotP as well. I believe this since I have the series list of stories at the bottom left of the paper.
This appears to have been the original map of The Soothing Storm before I made changes to the RootClan-BirchClan-SunClan border respectively. I also believe the lake's lower part is further down than where I stopped it at. I also believe that BirchClan has full control of the river leading out of the lake.
Fun fact: The lake was where Sparkcloud was originally going to die. She was also going to originally die at the very end since she was intended to be the main villain. That, obviously, never happened. I changed that because I wanted to explain how the Star's Prophets managed to sneak into RootClan's borders. Which was that a traitor had to be the one responsible, and I wanted that traitor to be the main villain. Which ended being a certain that I shall not spoil to those haven't read The Soothing Storm yet.
Here's some descriptions of the five clans
RootClan- RootClan is surrounded by spruce and oak trees. Their prey consists of robins, jays, blue jays, mice, voles, rabbits, and, sometimes, pigeons.
LakeClan- LakeClan is surrounded by some oak trees and hunts only sea food. (The changes were that LakeClan also has pine and spruce trees. They don't only hunt sea-food, and hunt the same prey as RootClan. Their area is usually the driest)
DuskClan- DuskClan is surrounded by dense spruce and pine trees and hunts voles, mice, rabbits, birds, and anything with sunlight. (Changes were that the anything with sunlight is cut cause I have no clue what that was for. The description for DuskClan was likely unfinished when I started The Soothing Storm)
SunClan- SunClan is surrounded by open plains and hunts rabbits and some birds.
BirchClan- BirchClan is surrounded by mostly birch trees and hunts rabbits, voles, water voles, any birds, (This was definitely unfinished due to the comma at the end)
With these evident changes and unfinished pieces, this was not the final product, even though it clearly was intended to be.
