*****

Kameela Devgan

As I told, I went to the bar on the corner and took my seat on the stool.

"What do you prefer, ma'am?" The bartender asked as I sat near the counter.

"Urmm...just a cup of water please." He smiled smugly and nodded while reaching out for a cup behind.

I know, it must be weird to ask for a water rather than any drinks that he meant by but what can I do? I don't drink and I'm not planning too either.

I took my graduate time looking around the club and I saw almost all the people here standing there in couples. Some were being too sweet onto each other whilst some were even romancing on between the crowd.

My eyes itched to look away and my heart aches a little of how I'm all alone here.

"Ma'am, your water." The bartender pulled me out of my trance.

"Kameela." I pronounced and he knitted his eyebrows together in confusion.

"You can call me Kameela, no need the formalities." He laughed and I took the cup to sip on the water.

"Okay, Kameela. Where's your date? I don't want to get whacked by him if he saw me laughing with you, you know. " he said and I shook my head, gulping down the last bit of water in the cup.

Why is everyone so interested on me having a date?

"I have no date. So, no one's going to whack you. " He chuckled and there comes another couple to the counter that made this sweet looking guy moves away from me with a nod to assist them.

What am I even expecting from him? I took a sigh at how desperate I'm feeling right now and my eyes wandered around to the crowd.

My eyes thoroughly landing on this man, who looks perfectly outstanding from every men around here and he was too formal for a party like this. He wasn't with anyone around yet he was searching for something in the crowd.

As if he found the source, he gave a wicked smirk and walked to the direction. He made his way to the table on the right side corner and gradually took his place in between this couple, who's practically arguing about something.

They were in the verge of ripping of each other's heads in anger and I was wondering of what the hell this man doing in between them.

On top of it, the two were acting so obvious as if there's no one there and I saw that man leaning in to the quarrelling guy's ears as he whispered something.

What happen next took me by surprise as I saw the angry guy calming down in seconds while pulling his angry lady to kiss. He kissed her with passion and their body molded onto each other, ignoring all the previous fighting away.

I was literally watching the scene with my eyes and mouth wide open, yet I didn't even knew of what the heck did that man whisper about.

As they were kissing, I saw him gliding away from their table with a smile of victory and I was too caught up with the surprise he gave me as I failed to notice that he was walking up to the counter which I'm standing right now.

He took the seat beside me and I was shaken at the fact that my eyes refusing to look away. I'm openly gawking him and to be frank, he's the sexiest thing that I had ever laid my eyes on yet I loved this closer view of him.

His sharp jawline with light stubble, obliqued cheekbones, thick eyebrows, hazel orbs in those beautiful eyes, ideal pointed nose, fully hearted lips, yet finally the perfectly side slicked brownish hair and I don't know about what else would be the definition of being sinfully gorgeous rather than him.

Kameela, stop ogling him like that. Who knows that he might be here with any one of his girlfriend or to be worst, wife and I'm already planning to have a talk with him.

No, that will be bad. I would only shame myself in front of this hot man and that will be the last thing I wanted today.

I sat rooted on my stool and spun back around to face the counter. From my peripheral vision, I could see him looking around and for a second, I was thinking of why don't he order any drinks yet. In the spilt of second, he looked at me in a jerk and unconsciously my eyes averted to stare at him either.

I swallowed down my saliva on the accidental eyes contact and I forced out a small greeting, "Hi."

He looked me as if I changed in green color and he glanced behind his back quickly before staring me with double sized eyes.

Is he okay?

"Hey, again." I turned back to the counter and the bartender was here too.

"Seems like your busy?" I asked him, trying my best to divert from this hunk beside me who's still looking me weirdly.

"Yeah, it's typical actually. And, you sure you don't want to drink anything else? " He joked while tossing on the glass from the cupboard under him and I nodded positively with a smile.

"That's bad. " He pouted while saying so and bent over to the cupboard beneath.

"You should ask this someone beside me instead." I informed with a sly as I still caught him staring at me with surprise, which made me so uncomfortable.

On my saying, the bartender straighten up again and looked at the spaces beside me, his eyes skipping pass the man beside me.

"Where? " he asked as he looked back at me and I was in bewilder.

"Huh? He's right next to me." I begin pointing at the hottie beside me and the bartender looked at the direction as if there's no one.

"Your high isn't it? But, you don't smell...or did you have any vodka just now?" The bartender asked me as he gave me a knowing look.

"What? I'm a teetotaler. I don't drink and please stop joking, can you?" I was a bit annoyed at the way he made fun of me but his expression was serious though.

"Hey, I'm not joking. There's no one here on the counter except you." Before I could register in his word, he whispered something under his breath, "Wait a second, I think I gave you a vodka instead of the water. Let me check for a second."

He muttered while turning around to check something and my eyes shifted to the man next to me.

I felt my hair standing up as goosebumps ran through my body. I'm sure I had the right drink for myself and even if I'm drunk...how is it possible for anyone else to not see him?

There's no one here on the counter except you.

His words rung in my head and that's when I came into realization fully.

Only I-I could see him?

"I got you the right drink. It's a very plain mineral water." The bartender talked back again and my widen eyes were averted to him.

His raised his eyebrows at me and I quickly added in, "I....I need to go."

I dozed off from the bar without even giving a single glance behind and made my way rapidly to my best friend, who's the only person that could affirm me right now.

"Lisa!" I nearly yelled at the couple while barging in the group of people whose busily going on a conversation with them.

She looked at me and her eyes turned concern. I lung at her to hold her hand and dragged her away from the group.

"What happened? You all right?" Lisa questioned, looking every part of my body with careful.

Though I'm the same person who asked her to not hung on me as she had a man waiting for her but now, I just couldn't care about how might Ricardo feels right now. I just needed to confirm something and she's the only hope I got.

"I'm all right, but I need you to tell me something. " I told her and she nodded without any hesitation.

"Okay, just let me know whether what you could see at the bar? " I asked her, expecting so dearly to let it be a prank from the bartender.

"Why, though? And, who are you expecting to be there huh? " she joked at the end of her question while eyeing me with a crook smile and I shook my head.

"No, Lisa. Please. Focus and tell me what you see there? " I noted very seriously as my arms clutched on her both arms tightly.

Her head tipped on the side as her eyes slowly traveled behind my shoulders. She eyeballed everything and started to pronounce one by one, "Just the bar...a bartender who's busy serving this couple and...that's it. There's nothing big to notice in that bar except than this. "

As I heard her finishing, my own eyes snapped behind at the bar and I saw everything what she said but additionally with the same man too. He doesn't seems to be moving any inch from the bar and he was still with that shocking expression on me.

Why the heck she can't see him?

"Y-You don't see anyone else rather than what you pointed out just now? " I asked again, not believing her words that she uttered before.

"No, it was just the bartender and the...flossy couple over there. " she concluded and I really stared into her eyes to check whether she's joking or not, but all I could see is seriousness.

She was really meaning it. S-So, is it like he's invisible for everyone else but me or I'm having any hallucinations problems here?

God, is he a ghost? I-I could see a ghost? When the heck did I even started seeing them?

"Kameela! Where have you been? " I felt her shaking my body and I looked back at her.

I felt myself panting and Lisa held onto me as if she's fearing me of fainting anytime.

"Lisa, I-I need to leave right now. " That's exactly what I needed to do.

I just couldn't digest the fact that I could see this man who's super unavailable to be seen by others right now.

"What? No, you just came like an hour ago right? " I don't want to get haunted, idiot. I was in verge of shouting that at her but her sweet concern full face couldn't help to it.

"Lisa, I know. But, I'm...kind of feeling not well right now. You know, I don't have enough sleep and so maybe I'm tired too. I...I swear, we would catch up later someday. We had a week off though. " I tried my best to convince her and after numerous of lectures of how to take care of myself, she finally let me go.

I bid a quick goodbye to Rick and ran into the elevator.

I was the only one to enter and as I stepped in, I saw that man rushing up to the elevator too.

Oh, Lord. It feels like he's trying to chasing me and I was really terrified to the core as my body started shaking.

I speed walked to my car and I never hesitated to drive away quickly. I was in my home in less than an hour. I parked my car on my regular parking lot and left the car in hurry. Running into the elevator, I pressed into my floor and the elevator moved. Dinging just by in two minutes, I wandered out of the elevator and ran to my house.

I opened the gate and door with so much haste, yet as I finally stepped in and closed them behind me. I was washed with calmness.

I just escaped a ghost or a mysterious man who's only be seen to my eyes and I couldn't be more happy.

I took another breath of relief and walked further into my house. Throwing my bag on the couch like usual, I went to straight away to my bathroom and striped myself to take a hot shower. I just needed to feel warm for some time under this water to calm down my nerves.

It's like a nightmare to digest but I just couldn't believe a thing. Of course, I trust in what the bartender and Lisa meant by, but still...how is it possible?

Though, he was even surprise that I could see him. Is he used to people not seeing him at all and I was the only one to notice him?

"Urgh! Forget it, Kameela. " I grunted a final note to my overthinking brain and after a long 15 minutes, I exited the shower.

Strolling into my bedroom, I changed into my casual clothes and decided to send a quick message to Lisa about how I'm doing as she forced me too.

I set the phone to charge and walked out of my bedroom to go to the kitchen. I opened the fridge to take out the balance slices of chocolate cake and set it in the counter island.

My eyes looked over the dishes rack and I began searching for the always-hard-to-find tiny platter as I'm already scattering everything. I just used it yesterday and now, I don't even know of where I put it after washing the dishes.

"Where did I kept you this time? " I grunted to myself as I kept rumpling the rack and my sanity to stuff in the chocolate cake was going into the edges.

"Can I help? " I don't need another person to help me find this damn tiny platter!

"No, thank you. " I groaned and continue to fondle around the mess I created in the rack.

All at once, my body freeze for a second from whatever I had been eager to search on. D-Did I just really heard someone asking so?
