"Loving is not just looking at each other, it's looking in the same direction."
— Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Jennie gathered her markers, furiously scribbling on the white paper. Her disfigured drawing was not one appreciated to the eyes, but nonetheless, Jennie was proud.
Her mother, dark silky hair and fierce cat-eyes, pale, porcelain skin, was portrayed on the paper. She was wearing a ruby-red dress, one of Jennie's favorite colors, with a notched pattern on it.
Next to her was a small girl, who shared her dark hair, cat-eyes, and pale skin. Both people were absolutely beautiful, everybody would say when they were questioned about the mother-daughter duo.
The small girl, Jennie herself, was holding a teddy bear, one her mother gifted her. Her dress was a bright blue, one that could flash your eyes.
Both had on smiles.
Jennie raced up the stairs to show her mother was creation she had made.
"Eomma, Eomma!" Jennie shouted, a grin plastered on her face as she swung the door open.
Her mother, laid on the bed, was reading a book. When she saw her daughter, she smiled, making her look much more youthful.
"What is it, my daughter?"
Jennie shoved the picture in her eomma's face. "Look what I drew for you!"
Her mother viewed the picture. "Thank you, JenJen." Jennie smiled, satisfied.
They both heard the front door open and close, and Jennie knew her father had arrived.
He came into the room, flowers in his hand. "My wife, these are for you."
She smiled, taking the flowers. "Thank you."
But her smile slowing disappeared. "It's my time."
Jennie and her father's eyes slowly misted. She was only five, but experiencing a severe loss.
"My husband, I love you. Please take care of our Jennie."
She turned to Jennie. "Jennie Kim, I love you. I will miss you, but don't miss me too much. Go on with life, find your love, be happy."
Jennie thought that all those things were impossible to find with her mother gone.
"I love you, Jennie."
"I love you, too, Eomma."
The woman, still young, smiled and closed her eyes.
Later that night, she was declared officially dead.
Since then, Jennie's father has always blamed her for her mother's death. He abused her, verbally and physically.
But another person, who would bully her, would grow to love her.
Kim Taehyung.
