Seventeen: Just Getting Started

Oh my, we're already at Seventeen! That's like, my favorite number.
Aaaand, by this time around, all my other books would have already reached their "overly dramatic" parts and climaxes, but this one, this one is just getting started. Wow. This book will be longer than I thought.

The header above was made by me. Not drawn by me, but colored by me. Quite nice, huh?

Anyway, hope you like this update. Stayed up pretty late for this, and well, it's a consecutive update! Yay!

"Good morning, Daddy," I greeted Daddy as he got down from the stairs. The scent of strawberry and butter filled the room— as I was cooking Anna and Daddy pancakes, and blending a jar of strawberry smoothies. This was normally how mornings were with Mommy, well, except Vera Lynn was the one helping Mommy, while I was sound asleep— or pretending to be sleeping, since I don't like to help with chores.

But now, I guess I'd love to take it all back. I would love to go back in time— join Vera and Mommy in cooking everything, before I knew they were gone.

Daddy approached me with a hug, "Good morning, Elsa, darling. Seems like you're pretty giddy today."

"That's because she just got kissed last night," Anna exclaimed as she took the milk carton from the refrigerator. She looked at me quite smugly— knowing that she just spilled a secret of mine.

I rolled my eyes, and dumped a stack of pancakes on her plate— preparing myself for a series of questions from Daddy.

"Who's the guy?" Daddy asked, not really showing signs of dismay.

Anna looked at me as she spilled more, "Well, actually they're two."

"Shut up, Anna," I warned her— declining to pour out my strawberry smoothie onto her outstretched hand holding her glass.

"One was that popstar," she continued, nevertheless. "And the other was-"

"Stop it Anna!" I yelled, a little too early in the morning.

Daddy was startled, pulling away his coffee cup from his lips. He sternly exclaimed, "Who is the guy, Elsa?"

Anna smirked at me, knowing that I had no choice but to say the truth.

"His name is Jack. Jack Frost," I spoke out in deep breaths. I abandoned the kitchen area to sit down and sulk on my seat.

"You mean that guy I accidentally sent all your letters to?" Daddy continued his questions— biting off a piece of his maple syrup-covered pancake.

"Yeah," I nodded in reply. "That's him."

"You mean," he stared at me, trying to comprehend what he just did to my entire love life. "He came out here for you? All because of those letters?"

"Yes, that's a less weird way to explain why ten trailers and a million cameras are out here on North Carolina," I shrugged.

"All because of your letters?" Daddy raised his voice. "Whatever did you write there, Elsa?"

"My feelings, and a lot of whatnots," I giggled— taking a sip of my smoothie. "I don't really know. It just magically happened, like magic."

He gave me a skeptical look. I know he does not approve of all of this.

"I don't want him to ruin your privacy, Elsa— our privacy.", he said. "And he's a popstar, for god's sake. He can do anything he wants to do to you, and yet turn the whole thing onto you."

"Dad, he's— Jack's not like that," I reasoned out.

He shook his head, "Who are we to know, Elsa? He can change how he looks like in front of all of us."

"He's just like us," I said, almost in tears. I have never argued with Daddy before, and if we did, it would be something petty like forgetting to feed Pepper— but this... This would take a long time to settle down. "Just give him a chance."

He eyed me carefully, his dark eyes staring into my soul, "Only because I want to see you as happy as you are right now. You've never been like this ever since your mother was gone."

I smiled, "Thank you, Daddy. You're going to love him."

"Ah, I hope he doesn't break your heart, either," he chuckled. "Who's the other one?"

Speaking of the other one, as if we were in a movie, Robin entered the house without even ringing the doorbell— as usual. He felt like this was his second home, and truly, it was.

He was carrying a basket of some sort of food, that I presumed was pastries, since he loved to bake with his mom, for his dad... and for us, too.

"Good morning, Mr. Hale," he greeted Daddy at the table, setting down his basket of brownies. "These are for you, and your beautiful daughters."

"By that, he means me!" Anna laughed as she reached out into the basket for a brownie.

"Partially, you," he said, nodding at Anna.

"But mostly your sister," he winked at me— his mouth forming a smile.

I rolled my eyes, "What brings you here, Robin?"

He brought his hand up to his chest, faking a hurt expression, "Is it bad to see my favorite girl, love?"

I shook my head, covering my smile— and my tomato-red cheeks.

Daddy cleared his throat, "So nice to have you around, Robin. Have you heard about that popstar being around here? Jack Frost, was it?"

Robin's face fell as he looked at me. He nodded, "Yeah, Mr. Hale. He's quite famous."

"Then I'm sure Elsa here has told you something, am I right?"

"Yeah," he said, running his fingers through his dark hair. "She mentioned that to me."

"I'd ask a favor, if that's quite fine," Daddy pressed on. He motioned Robin to sit next to me at the table.

"Anything," Robin replied, taking the opportunity to take a glance at me— which I quickly looked away from.

Daddy cocked his head towards me, "Will you, will you guard Elsa? Guard her heart— I mean."

"What do you mean, Mr. Hale?" Robin asked curiously. He eyed Daddy carefully, trying to figure out what he meant.

"I don't want this Jack to break my daughter's heart," Daddy explained himself. "So, would you  guard her heart for her?"

There was a silence in the room— not even Anna had said a word. I breathed heavily, waiting on Robin's response...

He didn't have to guard my heart... I was perfectly fine on being broken...

I've never had my heart broken before, and would it be a terrible idea if I wanted Jack to be the first?

It's not like he would break it anyway, right?

"I'll guard her heart as if it were mine," he said, looking over at me with a smile. "No one would ever break it, as long as I'm around."

"Great. Thank you, Robin," Daddy replied.

He shook his head, "Even if you didn't ask me to, I would never let anyone break her heart, Mr. Hale. She means everything to me."

"I really think there's something going on between the two of you," Daddy exclaimed, scratching his chin.

Anna whistled, "Ah, sure there is."

"Cut it out, Anna," I hissed at her— soft enough for Daddy not to notice.

"Whatever it is," Robin spoke out. "She'll never know what it's like to be broken, for I will catch her before she's fallen."

He looked at me again, staring deep into my eyes— then cracking into a dazzling smile.

"Very well, then," Daddy said. "By the way, you can call me David."

After breakfast, and when everyone was gone, Robin helped me with the dishes, since I always use a lot of pots and pans whenever I cook. Good thing we have this mind telepathy that he would always come by at the perfect day when I decide to cook.

"Great speech back there," I commented— spritzing him with dish soap water.

He chased me around with a soapy sponge, and caught me from behind— covering my shoulders with lather.

I turned around to face him, as he planted a kiss on my forehead, just as before.

"We're just getting started, love."

A/N: Ah, the feels on this chapter make me feel so happy. I'm honestly an Elsbin shipper because well, Robin is secretly what I hope my real-life crush to be— and Elsa is me. I'm such a dork.

Anyway, I'm horrible. Writing a Jelsa story, while shipping a different ship.

At least this book isn't going to be predictable, right? :D

Comment down anything at all, and congratulate me for updating twice in a row! Oh, yeah!

xoxo,
Julienne

P.S: Who was there when the draft of this chapter accidentally got published?
