February 15th
Dear Future Me,
Levi Daniels is my boyfriend. Levi Daniels... is my boyfriend. Levi... Daniels... IS MY BOYFRIEND! Quite a way to start an entry, isn't it? Well, last night was quite the rollercoaster. Like, Skyrush at Hershey Park type of rollercoaster. Dare I say it, it may have been the best Valentine's Day ever (if I get married and my husband somehow tops last night, then this didn't age well).
First things first, Nikki and I are friends again, and to be honest, I think the time apart actually made our friendship stronger. I don't see us not being on speaking terms ever again. This friendship is here to stay, and I'm glad to say it is. I never want to fight with her again. At least yucky Victor is out of the picture though. Nikki, if you're reading this one day, you know I'm right.
Anyway, with Nikki being my hype-woman, I almost crashed Levi's date with Megan. At the VERY last second, I decided not to, and thank god I did. Right as I thought everything was hopeless, Levi comes to my house, throwing a fricking rock at my window to get my attention! God, dad was so mad, but he changed his tune when he saw it was Levi. He must be Skyevi's (that's our ship name according to Xavier) number one fan.
I shocked myself by making the first move on Levi, to be honest. I mean, I just thought to myself that it was now or never and just... kissed him. The way he kissed me back though. I just can't get over it. I could definitely get used to his kisses as long as we're together.
It's crazy to see myself with Levi six months after meeting him, but I am so in love with him, and he's completely head over heels for me. Who would've thought somebody could be head over heels for me? Senior year has definitely been full of surprises, and we're only just getting past the halfway point.
I guess you could say this is the start of something new, Future Me (High School Musical reference intended). The future is sure looking bright for Skye Simmons.
Sincerely,
Past Me.

Even though Skye barely got any sleep last night from the excitement that occurred, she was wide awake and energetic when she heard her alarm go off. She didn't waste any time either, jumping out of bed and throwing her blanket without caring where it landed in one swift movement. She was practically like a little kid in the midst of a sugar high, but in her case, Skye was running on the smallest amount of sleep.
Unlike her usual mornings, Skye went through every step of her morning routine with more eagerness, almost as if she couldn't wait to get out of the house. Skye Simmons, excited to go to school? The universe has truly seen it all. She would have Levi to thank for her newfound energy, that's for sure. Oh, and the coffee she had with the breakfast made by her father too. He definitely noticed how happy his daughter was, and it brought a smile to his face like no other.
"Bye, dad! I'll see you later! Love you!" Skye yelled out on her way out the door, leaving her dirty dishes on the dining room table as she couldn't wait to get on with her day.
"Bye!" Scott yelled back. After hearing the door shut, he walked over and looked out the window, still smiling from before as he watched Skye excitedly get on her bike and ride off to school. "They grow up so fast."
Skye took a different route to school on this particular morning, instead of going in the direction towards Nikki's house instead of avoiding it completely like before. There was no reason to avoid her anymore, and Skye hoped she could catch Nikki on the way to school, which she thankfully did.
She abruptly stopped herself in her tracks, finding Nikki just leaving her house. Skye wasn't aware of this, but Nikki has been walking to school since breaking up with Victor, but that would change today as Skye called out for her before she could walk any further. "Hey, Nikki!"
"Skye, holy shit!" Nikki jumped as the sound of Skye's bike wheels skidding on the concrete scared her. After quickly collecting herself, she ran up to Skye and wrapped her arms around her. "I never see you go down this way anymore!"
"Well, I'm here now! Need a ride?" Skye asked.
Remembering what they used to do, Nikki immediately agreed, happy to get back into the groove of their old traditions. It had been so long since they did them, so it felt like experiencing it for the first time all over again. "Holding onto you for dear life as you ride down the street like a psycho while I stand on the pegs this early in the morning? Sign me up!"
"Don't grab my boob like that one time, alright?" Skye joked, poking fun at a past incident. No matter how many times Nikki insisted it was an accident, she could never live it down, and Skye was solely responsible for it.
"That was an accident!"
"Was it?" She furrowed her eyebrows, dragging out the joke a little more just so she could see Nikki get more annoyed about it. It was completely working, so Skye was happy to have succeeded.
"Yes, now let's get a move on!" Nikki rolled her eyes, stepping onto the pegs of Skye's bike and grabbing her shoulders. Not too loose, but not too tight, although she would most likely end up gripping Skye like her life depended on it. Actually, that was guaranteed.
"I hope you don't regret those words!" Skye teased. After letting out a giggle, she started to pedal, starting off slow before picking up the pace.
"Oh, come-" In the middle of her sentence, Nikki screamed suddenly, holding onto Skye tighter than before as they went down a steep hill. No matter how many times either of them went down that hill, they never got used to it. "Man, I always hated this hill!"
"Me too!" Skye yelled out, dragging out her words for a few extra seconds and gripping onto the bike handles for dear life.
After making it down the hill, the two teenage girls collected themselves, taking a deep breath as they were thankful they got that over with. A moment later, someone's phone began to ring, the ring belonging to Skye, but she couldn't exactly answer it given how occupied she was currently. "Hey, my phone's ringing! Answer it, pretty please?"
"Okay!" Nikki agrees without hesitation, reaching over Skye's shoulder to grab her phone and look at the screen to see who was calling her. "It's Nini, should I answer?"
"Yes! Put it on speaker!" Skye exclaimed. Nikki pressed accept and immediately put the phone on speaker, holding the phone up so they could both hear what Nini had to say while Skye continued pedaling to school. "Hello-"
Barely letting her get a hello in, Nini screamed into the phone for a good thirty seconds, practically damaging their eardrums in the process. Skye took a moment to process, finally speaking into the phone once Nini was done with her screaming. "Um, are you dying or something?"
"What?! No way!" Nini sassed. Come on, she was well more than alive right now, and it would be made apparent why very quickly. "How could I be dying when you and Levi are dating!"
"Oh god, who told you?" Skye asked. Who else? It was clear a certain someone couldn't wait to tell his or her friends about last night's events. Levi had stayed with Skye until midnight, and he would have stayed longer if she hadn't told him to get some sleep since they both needed it. Little did Skye know he stayed up all night long while she was fast asleep, waiting to tell everyone in person at school.
"Levi told Danny and then Danny told me! I can't believe it, you're finally dating! I swear to god, I could die!" As Nini further showed her excitement, Skye realized it was adorable how Levi couldn't wait to tell everyone. It just showed how he wasn't ashamed of her, and that's more than she could ever ask for. But, Skye had to worry that her overly excited friend wouldn't short circuit from her newly formed relationship with Levi.
"Please don't!" She pleaded, forcing out a laugh in hopes that Nini was merely joking and that she would be very much alive to witness "Skyevi" in all of its glory.
"I demand you tell me all the details later," Nini said, not kidding when she demanded that she receive the Valentine's gossip. "A little birdie told me the kiss was steamy like The Notebook!"
"The Notebook?" Both Skye and Nikki furrowed their eyebrows in confusion at the mention of the famous rom-com, and Skye couldn't help but assume that Levi was a bit overly excited when sharing the very good news.
"Um, yeah! Is it true?" It was so painfully apparent how Nini was dying for details from Skye's perspective. She didn't really know what to say without getting flustered about it. Skye got flustered just thinking about what happened last night. It was totally steamy like The Notebook as Nini said, but Skye would neither confirm nor deny such detail.
"Well, I don't know-"
"God, I bet it was." Nini interrupted, which she would continue to do. "Levi probably swept you off your feet, right?"
"Um-"
"Who am I kidding? Of course, he did! He's Levi Daniels!" She exclaimed. "God, I'm so happy you guys are finally together."
"Well, thanks, but-" As Nini rambled on, Skye failed to get a complete sentence out. How could she give any details when Nini kept on talking? Skye couldn't exactly blame her either, it was an exciting time since everyone had been waiting for this moment for so long.
While Skye attempted to speak, she and Nikki could hear a bunch of yelling in the background, which was a result of Nini entering school. Despite going to different schools, the halls were just as chaotic. "Ah, I gotta go! Ugh, teachers are so strict about phones here."
"Oh, um, don't die on me!" Skye managed to get out, and thankfully Nini heard it over all of the noise around her.
"I won't! Bye!" She then hung up quickly, so Nikki proceeded to reach over and put Skye's phone back where it was, continuing on with their commute. Even if some things would never change, Skye still loved practically every bit of her life.
"Steamy like The Notebook?"
"Oh, shut up."
When Skye and Nikki arrived at school, Nikki immediately hopped off the bike while Skye went to lock it on the bike rack. As Skye was distracted messing with the lock (she never failed to fiddle with it every single time), she was completely unaware that her new boyfriend was walking towards the two girls. Well, with the guys, of course.
"Ah, it's your boyfriend!" Nikki yelled out excitedly. Levi furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he figured out it was her, and Skye whipped her head up, frantically looking around until she met eyes with Levi.
"Levi?"
Levi, Xavier, and Danny walked towards the two, just in time for Skye to succeed in locking her bike. Xavier and Danny were just as confused as Levi, so they were definitely expecting some sort of explanation. "Well, this is a surprise."
"We made up before you two sucked each other's faces off," Nikki said in a nonchalant way. While Levi snickered at this, Skye pretended to gag, covering her mouth as she turned away in embarrassment. It was safe to say Nikki immediately earned the stamp of approval from the group, and it didn't even take five minutes.
"Alright, she's cool."
"Yes." She whispered to herself after hearing this from Levi. Skye tried shaking off the embarrassment, but it failed miserably as she and Levi's friends would never let them live this down. Well, all but one would thankfully spare them.
"Alright, let's leave the new couple alone." In classic Danny fashion, he shut down the whole teasing event. Oh, how he remembered the teasing he endured after meeting Nini. Like, merely minutes after. Danny still held a small grudge about it to this day. It would be an even bigger grudge, but he's so happy with Nini it hardly even mattered anymore.
"Awe, you're no fun," Xavier whined as he, Danny, and (to their shock) Nikki walked away from the couple, crossing his arms with a childish pout.
"I know, that's why I'm in a happy relationship unlike you." Danny snickered, never failing to slip that in as much as he could. Even after all these years, Xavier always felt burned by the reminder of how single he was.
"Every time, man, every time." He scoffed.
"I felt the burn too." Nikki sighed, having only been single for just a few weeks.
"Oh," Xavier replied, but when he really got to thinking, he understood why she felt that way. Maybe he wouldn't be so alone anymore. Just maybe. "Oh."
Nikki furrowed her eyebrows as she looked over at Xavier, who had a smug look on his face. He was just a little too excited, thinking he stood some sort of chance with the gorgeous girl walking next to him, but Nikki was painfully clueless. "Okay then..."
As the three walked away, Skye and Levi followed them into the school not long after, finally facing all of the faces that would have questions or opinions that they may not like to hear. Despite that, they didn't hesitate to look at each other with loving grins, walking together as if nothing else in the world mattered. Actually, nothing else in the world mattered to them in that present moment; all they cared about right now was having each other, and there was nothing that they could ever trade it away for.
"Couldn't wait to tell them?" Skye teased as she looked up at Levi with a smirk. He immediately blushed, caught red-handed without a single chance to declare his innocence. The poor guy just really couldn't wait to tell anyone he could that the Skye Simmons was his girlfriend! Could you blame him? Not at all.
"Guilty..." Levi huffed as he darted his eyes away in embarrassment.
He tried to fight off Skye's remarks, but Levi simply couldn't resist her for long when she reached for him and poked his cheek, spilling out praise that made his heart want to do somersaults. "You're so cute."
"Come on, my presence is a gift, Skye, I know." Levi tried to play it off, using that classic Levi Daniels attitude to be "cool". Skye, of course, saw it as a joke, so she playfully rolled her eyes and began to walk away from him, which immediately made Levi pout and call out for her. "Wait, wait! I wanna hold your hand!"
Turning her head to see Levi's puppy face, Skye extends her hand out for him and he grabs it happily, producing a few gasps from some students. The two teens have never been giddier in their entire lives, practically skipping with each step down the hall as they went to their respective homerooms. Actually, Levi's homeroom was nowhere near Skye's, but he just really wanted to hold hands with his girlfriend in the hallways. How adorable.
"Hey." Levi felt Skye gently squeeze his hand for a moment, immediately giving her his undivided attention without hesitating as he anticipated what she had to say. "You ready for today's lab?"
"If you think I'm going to do all of the work you are very mistaken." He playfully scoffed, using the words Skye first said to him the day they met. Oh, how they've come so far since then, and they always evenly split their work too. Truly a full-circle moment.
"Hey, that's my thing!" She exclaimed, hitting Levi's arm as she let out a gasp, even if he could barely feel her do it.
"Well, I can't look bad for the future Skye if I slack off!" Levi protested.
Skye merely smiled, not even resisting the grin that crept up on her face so easily. To think that a simple idea that randomly came to her one summer night could lead to countless entries which in turn lead to the happiest she's ever been. Thinking about it now, Skye knew that her future self would look back on these memories with the biggest smile on her face. She wouldn't want to change a thing now, and she certainly won't want to in the future.
"Don't worry about that. She likes you already."
