Today is Debbie's day off but she always shows up to the nursing home even for just a couple of hours to chat with the elderly. And to visit Jack, her shining star.

Her heart hurts for him and his condition but she has prepared herself for the day she loses him to his illness and to the day of his death. Still, Debbie can't fathom to accept that such a soul like his deserves to be taken of this planet.

She came to the conclusion, that we don't deserve Jack Wayne. He's too kind and too caring for us ordinary humans to even acknowledge his virtues.

Debbie still catches herself smiling at the thought of that mysterious singer, of his handsomeness and enticing ways. Well, she also misses her pillbox hat, her head feels lighter and she can't live like that anymore.

Visiting Jack was painful to Debbie as he was hallucinating and was being a bit violent, all causes of dementia.

She decides for both and leaves the nursing home to walk around the city. It's been ages since she has gone for a walk on a mall and stop by a bookshop. Where she loses herself in Nicholas Sparks romantic novels.

Terrel has ditched her over his new girlfriend. The became friends in middle school, time has gone by so fast and they're adults now.

Debbie's parents called her this morning telling that they will be back the day after tomorrow from their ten years travel through all of Europe. She kind of doesn't miss them as they are a bit nosy but she kind of does miss them as they spoil her every time they're together.

Only child perks!

After the walk at the mall and reading half of 'The Longest Ride' Debbie drives home to her small and cozy apartment, joining her puppy Benji and they watch a marathon of Audrey Hepburn's movies.

Debbie is really serious when it comes to movie marathons, she grabs two bowl of cookies, one for her and the other for Benji. Appropriate cookies for dogs of course!

After finishing the marathon with 'How to Steal a Million' Debbie walks towards to her bathroom and gets herself in an immersion bath to relax. The white vanilla scented candles around the bathtub soothes her and the water is colored by a mauve bath bomb.

Debbie sings Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and even Eartha Kitt, well she tries her best to honor their wonderful voices, knowing she will never going to sing like them.

When Debbie looks at the watch in her bedroom she finds that it's almost night time. Which means she has to start to cook now if she wants to eat at the right time before departing to the club.

The owner of the club, The Avenue, promised to compensate her from the loss of her dearly pillbox hat given by her sweet grandmother.

Debbie's favorite meal to prepare is tomato basil pasta, so simple, healthy and tasty! She starts by choosing a pan, putting olive oil inside, juggling the cherry tomatoes on her hands before cutting them and adding them to the oil with a pinch of salt.

She's preparing this meal with a towel around her body and her hair in hair curlers with a scarf tied around her head supporting the style.

With a meal ready to eat, Debbie walks to the pantry with her fluffy pink sliders to grab some dog food, she struggles a bit to grab the bag as it's heavy and big. Debbie buys a big heavy bag of dog food to compensate the endless walks to the grocery store.

She drags the bag to the kitchen to put some food for Benji, it quickly stars to bark with happiness, panting eagerly with its tongue hanging outside of its mouth.

"There, Benji. Bon appetit!" Debbie pats Benji as it starts to eat the food as if it has been starving.

Debbie finally finds time to eat her pasta, now lukewarm. She sits by the table eating her pasta with a fork and a spoon, trying to catch it in a very poised way.

There's a similar sound of water burbling, Debbie looks down to find Benji drinking water from another bowl, she smiles with the cuteness of her puppy.

After finishing her meal in a very quick but healthy way, Debbie washes the dishes and runs to her walk-in closet, she goes through it combing through her different colored and shaped dresses, skirts and tops. Debbie sighs loudly as she doesn't find a suitable outfit.

Then she recalls giggling in a girlish way of the night her eyes locked with forest green eyes of a handsome young man with a fine brown hair.

"I know what I will wear tonight!" Debbie lets the towel around her body drop and choose a beautiful white dress covered with with lace.

She glides her hand in the hair with a finger pointing out waiting to see where it lands. As she stops moving her finger points to a pair of shining beige pumps. Click clacking towards her mirror she approves her outfit and puts on a pearl necklace.

Benji has joined Debbie facing the mirror as she takes her hair curlers one by one releasing her curled hair. Finger combing her brick locks, Debbie's hair becomes wavy and fifties approved.

"Benji, mommy might take a while. So go to sleep, I'll see you in the morning!" Debbie pets her dog on her lap, not caring about her immaculate white dress.

She walks towards the door, grabs her fur stole that it's hanging by the door, she places it around her shoulders. Her hands search for something else, something that is no longer with her.

Debbie takes the elevator to the parking lot, she has company but she couldn't care less about them. They greet each other with politeness.

She struts her way to her Mini Cooper, catching some men and women's attention howling and whistling at her, but as soon as she drives outside their jaws are on the floor from her reckless driving.

Debbie drives to The Avenue, thinking of Jack at the traffic lights and if she will ever see that young man again.

Once already there, Debbie enters and orders a margarita and searches for her usual table, but the club is as full as it was the other night. After a big search and bumping into people, touching their sweaty skin, Debbie finds a table right behind the artists tables.

The host has already greeted everyone and inform them about the artists, Debbie was busy looking for a place to sit. As she makes her final adjustments on her chair, her eyes teach her that that young man is onstage ready to show off his voice.

He looks at Debbie as he sings, seducing her and assuring she doesn't go anywhere. And Debbie wouldn't as she swoons over his raspy voice that makes her tremble as if she just had the best orgasm on Earth.

Debbie's drink is finished faster than usual, she even surprises herself. Was she in a big need for a drink? Or was it something else?

As the young man finishes his song and bows down as everyone claps and cheers for him, Debbie smiles and gives him a standing ovation. This time she can't go home after his performance, she has to reclaim the club owner compensation.

The young man grabs his guitar case and walks towards Debbie.

"Can I sit with you?" His voice is still boyish from some high pitches that can be heard but there's also a deep tone in it.

"Sure, I don't owe the tables!" Debbie starts to become defensive, her feelings are coming to the surface and she doesn't know how to deal with them.

"I'll take that as a yes." The young man sits besides her while putting his guitar on the guitar case. Debbie looks at him, admiring his biceps that are bulging out of his floral shirt.

"I'm Christian Warren but you can call me Christian." Christian introduces himself, smirking as he waits for Debbie's response.

"Great to know. I'm Debbie." She tells him with a cold tone and snobbish.

"I have something for you." Christian tells Debbie as he reaches to his backpack.

"What? I don't even know you!" Debbie is as confused as a dog looking for a stick his owner didn't even throw.

Christian places a hat on the table.

"That's my pillbox hat! I've been missing it. Did you take it?" Debbie is caught in a mix of bittersweet emotions as she gets her pillbox hat back.

"Kind of. I actually spot it as you left the club, I went running after you but I couldn't find you. So I kept it with me, wishing we would meet here again!" Christian smirks seductively as he enlightens Debbie.

"And why would you think I would want to meet you again? We didn't even speak last time!" Debbie grabs her pillbox hat and starts getting up form her seat.

"Please don't be like that! I didn't mean to keep something that wasn't mine, you're being a bit rough now." Christian pleads, trying to make Debbie stay.

"Well, I have to go home." Debbie tries to escape.

"Is your boyfriend waiting for you?" Christian ask Debbie trying to jab her so he can get things going his way.

"No. No, boyfriend. Just my puppy, Benji." Debbie giggles in embarrassment as she speaks to Christian, realizing her excuse to go home is a bit lame.

"Well, I won't stay. And neither will you!" Debbie tells Christian eagerly.

"What do you mean with that?" Christian points confused at Debbie's statements.

"I want to go to a coffee shop and I would like your company, Christian!" Debbie bats an eye and slowly regrets her fast love moves.

"I like that, let's go!" Christian smiles and grabs Debbie's hands as they get outside. Debbie drives them to a coffee shop between the club and her apartment.
