It's different now

As I sat back onto the chair rocking back in forth trying to calm myself down as my mom officially takes me to my first appointment with the doctor I've been talking through with letters.

My mom hopes it goes well but I feel as if the room gets smaller and I have something in my throat. My clothes tag has been annoying me for the past couple minutes so it's been really irritating. I kept rocking back and forth back and forth.

A kid next to me "c-can you please stop" this kid next to me screams out "Nathaniel!" As the mom yelled out to him "I'm sorry" she apologized to my mom it seemed. Soon enough I zoned out. 

All I could hear is the scratching of the pen as the woman wrote down some notes. It was also bothering me that every time I move I feel my shoe laces hit against my foot over and over again. 

At the same time, it's calming in a way. But that's what's panicking me. I can't decide whether or not on how I feel about it. Then I started zoning out on the patterns on the wall and I noticed that at one point something on it's not even.

"It's not even" I mumbled. My mom stopped the conversation between the woman and asked me "what was that honey?" 

I said again but a bit louder "it's uneven" but then I started repeating it over and over again. My mom says I sound like a broken record.

"Honey it's ok" I kept shaking my head "it's not" she exhaled and then went through her bag "do you want your Pocket watch" I nodded my head a slight bit but as she looked for it "oh no. Honey I don't have it" i started to tear up 

"I-is it at home" she didn't say anything so I said it louder and everyone in there started staring at me "honey I think you had it last" I started to hyperventilate "mom no" I started balling my eyes out "no" I once again started to sound like a broken record

"Please I need it. Can't we go home" I squealed as my voice started to get really sore "honey we can't you have an appointment" I started to rock back and forth more "noooo" I let out a big sob 

"Vincent Morgan" a lady walked out "it's your turn" I shook my head "I won't go without the pocket watch" 

"Honey please" I shook my head over and over again "NO" I screamed but then the doctor walked out "mr. Morgan if you come into my office. I'll give you a piece of candy" my eyes widened as I got up. 

I walked in there. My mom was astonished by how he did that "well sit down you both" he pointed to me and my mother. The both of us sat down "doctor, if you don't mind me asking but how did you do that" 

"Well If you weren't informed. To get a child to listen you have to give them a reward" I looked around "where's my candy" he gasped "oh I'm sorry Vincent. I almost forgot" he got up and showed me a basket of candy

"Choose whatever" I saw a bag of pop rocks  and picked them up "how unusual" he then sat down "so I have an improper question to ask of you, mrs. Morgan" 

She tilted her head "go right ahead" he looked to her "how did you not know that"

"Well Vincent is well behaved. I forgot his pocket watch" he opened his notebook and started writing down "a pocket watch?" 

She smiled "well it's been passed down generations to generations. Vincent loves the sound of it and it calms him down" 

He finished writing down "ah so may I ask what was with what happened in there"

She put her hands together "well he noticed the wall was uneven" he chuckled "I noticed the same. I'm going to paint those walls. It's been bothering a lot of patients. I'm sorry that he had to go through that" 

She put her hand against my hair and play with it "oh he's fine aren't you buddy" I did a "mhmm" as I put the pop rocks in my mouth "so I'm guessing he really likes pop rocks" he smirked "yup. His favorite is milkshakes though"

The doctor wrote down "well that's something that isn't normal. But who's to say what's normal and what isn't. This world was made to be extraordinary not normal" he exhaled "sorry about that. So he loves sweets and stuff like that. Does he eat normal food"

After that I kind of spaced out for a bit after a while I heard my name being called "Vincent!" And I jumped "huh?" 

"I asked how are things with Nate" I looked to see where my mom was but she was nowhere to be found "where's my mom?" 

"In the bathroom. Will you tell me what happened between you and Nate" I nodded my head "nothing happened. We haven't talked since I told him how I feel" 

I sighed "I dont know how I feel about him now. I still like him" he nodded his head and wrote down stuff "are you ready to go hun?" I nodded my head "yes mom"

"Remember to write at least one letter a week. Ok, Vincent?" He said and I soon nodded my head.

When I got home it was quiet  and then my cat fluffy  walked up and rubbed up against me "meow" I then picked her up and sat her on my lap. She loved the attention she's been getting lately. 

Mom said that she broke out of the house and magical creatures made her pregnant so now she's pregnant. We've been told what to do when she gives birth. I can't wait any longer! Mom walked over to me and smiled and then held up the phone "guess who's on the phone" 

I looked over to her "who?" She smirked "Nathaniel"
