Dear Diary,

Kris chopped off all her hair. Those gorgeous red locks, that looked like roses floating in the breeze, were cut into a sharp chin-length bob.

She even started wearing make-up, like the Populars, even though we're too young to wear make-up. But her make-up is completely unlike the make-up the Populars use.

While the Populars wear heavy foundation, powder pink blush and excessively applied scarlet lipstick, Kris's make-up is much, much darker.

She uses black eyeliner, mascara and dark red gloss the colour of poison apples. I'd be lying if I said that she didn't look beautiful, but then again, we're much too young to be using any sort of make-up.

When I asked her why she had changed, she just shrugged and examined her lacquered dark purple nails. Our conversation went something like this:

Me- Kris, why're you wearing make-up? Why did you cut your hair? We're way too young to be thinking about appearances and stuff!

Kris- Well, I care, and it's my appearance, so it's not up to you to decide! What's wrong with wanting to pretty myself up anyway?

Me- You've only been here for eight days and you're already influenced by the Populars?

Kris- It'd do you well to address them by their names, Angel. They're called Steph, Viola, Jeymia and Karyn, not 'the Populars'. Jeymia even said that you'd clean up quite well with some make-up and a good hairstylist. She was even sweet enough to recommend her hairstylist!

Me- You're even calling the Queen Bee by her name now? Have you forgotten what she did to me in the past?

Kris- You haven't even talked to her and you're already judging her! She used to bully you, get over it! Can't you even take a bit of teasing?

Me- Excuse me?! She practically tormented me for two years! Ever since you started hanging out with them four days back you started changing so drastically! I've never seen anyone become their servant so quickly before!

Kris- Wow, look who's being rude now! They're nice people, and your constant jabs against them are just hurtful, you know? They're human too!

Me- Human? Ha! More like devil!

Kris- What is your problem?

Me- My problem? Who was the one agreeing a week ago that the Populars are evil and should rot?

Kris- Yes, I admit that I was badmouthing them a while ago, but that was before I knew them! They're not as bad as you think, give then a chance!

Me- Give them a chance? They've never given me a chance!

Kris- Ugh! Can you stop harping on the past? Come and talk to me again when you're ready to accept them!

Needless to say, she stormed off after that. I haven't talked to her since that argument this morning. I'm hiding in the bathroom now 'cause it's Social Studies and I'm supposed to be working with Kris.

Anyway, I should go before Miss Amy senses that something's up. Talk to you later!
