Katsuki fell to his knees beside her with a groan, his dazed eyes rapidly blinking as he tried to come to terms with what just happened. Small blood droplets mixed with sweat splattered onto the ground and he firmly pinched the bridge of his nose before tipping his head back. He winced. Shit hurt like hell, more than his arms.
He saw (Y/n)'s leg twitch from the corner of his eye and he looked down at her. Her back was turned to him but he could tell that she was starting to gain consciousness.
Sitting back on his heels, he scoffed to himself as he looked back up. Although she lost, he couldn't deny that she was one hell of a fighter. Took him by fucking surprise too. When she challenged him to a fight, he had envisioned it to end differently; with him subduing her in one move, forcing her to admit defeat and her submitting to his demands. What he didn't expect was that she was a sneaky little shit who knew how to use her Quirk and surroundings to her full advantage, even if she was outmatched in terms of power.
His mouth curled down in a scowl. What the fuck was he thinking? Underestimating her and thinking she needed protection, making her the bait when she could perfectly hold her own against him of all people.
Just when he thought he had her all figured out, she comes around and damn near breaks his fucking nose. Twice!
Next to him, (Y/n)'s eyes fluttered opened and light flooded her blurry vision. She blinked her glazed eyes as she gradually registered where she was and what had happened. It all came in at once. The memories, the fatigue, and worst of all, the pain.
Her head felt like it was about to explode, all her muscles in her body ached and her chin was on literal fire. Wincing, she set her shaky palm on the ground and weakly tried to raise herself into a sitting position. Her hand gave out on her and she collapsed back to the ground. She let out a pained groan and she slowly rolled over on her back.
Her lidded eyes fell on Katsuki. The boy lowered his chin and met her gaze, his fingers still around his nose's bridge, and lips parted to breathe. He looked like a mess, she noted, with blood coating his lips and throat. His skin and costume were covered with dirt, sweat, and grime and several grass particles clung to his wet costume. At least she could relax and take comfort that she wasn't the only one who looked a wreck.
Breaking the uncomfortable eye contact, the girl shifted to her side and tried getting up again. She finally managed to push herself into a sitting position but with a lot of difficulty. She winced when a crippling pain radiated from her back but she powered through it and struggled to get to her feet. All through, Katsuki stayed silent while he watched her struggle.
Once she was on her feet, she stumbled forward a few steps. She felt dizzy but managed to get the hang of it as she began trudging towards a nearby tree. She went around it, making sure that Katsuki couldn't see her anymore and her back fell against the tree trunk. She slid down to the ground and leaned her head against the tree trunk.
Huffing out a hefty sigh, she closed her eyes and allowed herself to rest for a second.
Katsuki frowned and released his nose. He wiped off the blood that was on his lips before looking back at the tree (Y/n) had disappeared behind. She had probably gone there to sulk since she had lost a fight she had started. He couldn't blame her. He would too.
Rising to his feet, he followed after her.
(Y/n)'s eyes shot open when she heard rustling behind the tree and she curiously peered around it. Katsuki had come to sit on the other side, his back against the trunk. She looked back in front and stared down at her lap. She brought one knee up to her chest and leaned her head back against the trunk.
"Aren't you...going for the finish line?" she asked, her words slow due to the disorientation she was still experiencing. "You still have fifteen minutes left. You can make it if you go now."
She heard him scoff. "What's the fucking point now? It's not like I can get you there."
"You won't be disqualified if you show up without me, you know," she paused to take in a ragged breath. "You'll just...lose some points. We have a lot, a few won't hurt."
"You don't get it, do you? I got those points with you. There's no fucking way I'm going to lose even a single point that we got. So if it means losing all of it together, then fuck it all."
(Y/n)'s eyes slightly widened. She then quickly wiped off the surprise with a silent scoff. You could've just said so from the beginning...did I have to punch it out of you?
Wincing, she rubbed her sore chin and shifted her lower jaw from side to side. She still felt weird, like she was drunk or something. Must've been the aftereffects of being KO'd, she thought bitterly.
Lolling her head to the side, she pinched out a blade of grass and twirled it around. She stared at the green plant with eyes glazed over. The color reminded her of a certain boy she missed so much and the corner of her lips slightly quirked up.
"You know," her mouth started moving without her permission. "Izuku thinks I'm special."
Katsuki's eye twitched at the mention of his nemesis' name and he reflexively snapped back.
"Who the fuck asked y-"
"You did," she cut him off. "You asked me a lot of times what I saw in him, right? Here I am, giving you my answer."
The boy clicked his tongue and directed his glare to the space in front of him. "Still didn't ask for your fucking reply."
(Y/n) sighed and released the grass blade, letting it fall on the ground. She brought her other knee up to her chest and she rested her forearms on her knees. She had no idea why she was telling him all those things in the first place, but somehow it felt right. Plus, not seeing his expressions made it easier.
"Yeah, well...he treats me like I'm special. And that's why I have feelings for him," she paused, a sad frown playing at her lips. "That's...kinda the same reason...why I started having feelings for you in the first place."
There was silence from Katsuki's side for a good second before he spoke.
"So what you're saying is that you are so starved for attention that you'd fall on your knees for any guy who thinks you're special?" (Y/n)'s frown deepened at the thick derision dripping from his voice. "And when did I ever say you were special?"
"You didn't actually say that I was," she countered, her tone rising defensively. "It was more of a backhanded compliment if anything. But you can't really blame me for reading between the lines. I wasn't unique, I didn't stand out in a crowd. No one treated me like I was special," her face fell with sadness clouding it. "No one...saw me as special..."
"So? What's that got to do with me?"
"You probably don't remember, but once upon a time, we met on the way home and walked together. You acknowledged me for the first time, well my Quirk but still...coming from you at that time, even though you're a dick, was something big for me," she entwined her fingers together and faintly smiled to the nostalgic memories. "You were all perfect and I was just, me. Looking back at it, I should've just ignored what you said. Maybe then, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in."
Another line appeared between Katsuki's brows. He remembered that day. How could he forget? Contrary to the fact that they had been living next to each other for ages, it was the first time he had come to acknowledge her existence. After that, he just saw her around then came her confession, when he became fully aware of her presence. What he didn't remember though, was their conversation. Did he really say something to her to gauge her interest in him? If so, then wasn't it his fault that he gave her the wrong idea? But no, she said it herself, right? It was her fault. She should've just ignored him, otherwise he wouldn't be having-ugh-
Desperate to change the subject to take his mind off stupid shit, he asked a question he had been meaning to ask for a while.
"You stood up to that wench earlier on. Why?"
(Y/n)'s eyebrows furrowed and she turned her head to the side. "What are you talking about?"
"She came by our changing room before all this shit whining about you defending me. Is that true?"
The female's eyebrows rose and she slowly looked back in front. A ghost of a pang hit her chest and she pursed her lips.
"...She told you that?" she asked, her voice faint.
"Yeah. Fucking pissed me off too," Katsuki impatiently clicked his tongue, his eyes narrowing. "So answer the fucking question."
"Does it matter?"
Katsuki repressed the urge to groan.
"For all I know, I didn't ask you to do shit for me in the first place. I could've easily shoved my fucking fist in her ugly face without your help."
(Y/n) made a face. "I didn't do it for you."
"Oh yeah? Coz I'm not so sure you did it for yourself."
(Y/n) could practically hear the smirk in his voice and she rolled her eyes. She hugged her knees and laid her chin atop her knees. She then blew out her cheeks.
"Okay fine, I did defend you," she admitted. "So what? It's not like it even matters to you anyway. You just wanna hear it from me and be smug."
Katsuki went silent. Folding one leg under, he brought one knee up to his chest and rested his forearm across his knee. He stared at the space in front of him, his face concentrated in thought.
"You didn't tell her about yesterday, didn't you?" he found himself asking.
"She didn't need to know."
A small smirk played on his lips. "Keeping secrets, huh? Finally learned to keep your mouth shut?"
(Y/n)'s face twisted in a grimace and her eyes darted to the side. I did it for the greater good, jackass.
Shaking her head, a previous thought popped up in her brain and she quickly asked the question before he could change the subject.
"Hey, you mentioned something back when we started," she said. She appreciated the silence coming from him, signifying his interest to listen to her question. "You said that I said something to Satori. What did you mean by that?"
Katsuki took longer than expected to respond and (Y/n) began suspecting that he might react the same way he did before.
The boy bit the inside of his cheek in an attempt to keep it to himself. He itched to tell her but a part of him didn't want her to admit to it. Hearing those words directly from her would deal a blow more lethal than Hanabitch's and as much as he hated to admit it to himself, he was scared of that happening.
So he settled for the lamest response in the fucking universe.
"Doesn't matter."
He heard (Y/n) let out a mix between a sigh and a groan. "Why wouldn't it matter?"
"Because I-" groaning, Katsuki ran a hand through his hair, his eyes screwed shut. He scratched his head in frustration. "Dammit-"
"Take your time."
He snapped his head to the side, his lips curled in a snarl. "Don't fucking tell me what to do!!"
(Y/n) remained silent, waiting for him to respond. Katsuki let out a growl and glared down at his boots. Since when did he become such a fucking coward? So what if she admitted to it? It'd only serve to help him get rid of her for good and that's what he's wanted ever since the very beginning. Right? He just needed his hopes to be crushed, maybe that's the only thing that was left for him to finally forget about her.
The boy's shoulders sagged and he sighed. He thinned his lips when second thoughts popped up but he quickly banished them.
"She-fuck-she said you fucking hated me and that I disgust you," he finally confessed, his voice magnifying his defeat. "...Along with some other fucked up shit."
What. What?! (Y/n)'s wide eyes stared at nothing. Her mouth remained gaping while her brain struggled to comprehend what he had said. Her heart felt like it had been stabbed and gouged out.
"She...said that?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Would I fucking lie to you?"
She barely registered Katsuki's answer as her brain had gone numb and her chest, empty. Unwrapping her arms around her knees, she leaned back against the tree trunk as she drew her bottom lip between her teeth. She knitted her eyebrows. Why would she do...that?
"Hey, still there?"
Katsuki's voice snapped her out of her trance and she frowned.
"And you believed her?" she clipped as she felt the anger building.
"How couldn't I? You tell that bitch everything. At first, I didn't want to believe it but seeing you act like that-" he groaned. "How could I fucking not?!"
(Y/n) scoffed a dry laugh. "Can you blame me for acting like that? It's not like you treat me any better."
Katsuki's lack of response spoke volumes.
The female clicked her tongue and crossed her legs. She stared down at her lap and brushed her thumb over her palm. Why would Satori say those things about her? And to him? She got that she hated him but still why would she-
Realization dawned on her face and her mouth parted in the shape of an 'o'. Satori said those things to Katsuki right before the exercise. She knew that if she said that to him, he'd be pissed off with her and he won't be able to cooperate with her. No wonder he lashed out at her when she asked him to clarify after he mentioned Satori's name. And his sudden outbursts, the one before they crossed the marsh? And the one after? With the branch?
She narrowed her eyes. But Katsuki always went off at any time without warning, even in normal circumstances...But still...
"I didn't think you were that dumb though," she said with a scowl.
"What'd you say to me?!"
She rolled her eyes. She was irritated, hell, she felt like punching someone again at that moment but at the same time, she felt so disappointed, hurt, confused, betrayed. Despite that fact, she had to first clear up the misunderstanding between her and Katsuki before she could continue to the main issue at hand.
"Satori...always has a way to get into someone's head, okay?" she continued, disregarding him. "I didn't notice it back in middle school, but I started to afterward, a-and now I just confirmed it. Just didn't think she'd ever manage to manipulate you of all people."
A muscle in Katsuki's jaw twitched. She was yet to fucking clarify whether the claims were true or not. What the fuck-
"You callin' me weak-minded or something?" he baited.
"If I say yes, will you kill me?"
"Precisely," he quipped.
He heard her mutter something under her breath and his form trembled with unconstrained rage and impatience. Fucking say it already-
"I don't hate you, Katsuki."
Said male's eyes went round and all his rage was forgotten in an instant. His heart skipped a noticeable beat over what she had just said and more so over the fact that she had used his given name. For the first time.
"I mean, sure you're a piece of shit and you drive me insane," (Y/n) continued, unaware that she had mentally broken Katsuki. "You give me constant headaches. You make me second-guess myself. You make me feel weak. You make me want to kill you," she frowned. "You make me feel pathetic. You've made me cry multiple times. And even after all that, I still don't hate you. I should hate you. I want to hate you," she held up her hands, palms facing up. "If I had to isolate what someone could hate about you, it would be difficult because there is so much to hate."
She sighed and dropped her hands between her crossed legs. She stretched her lips sideways and shrugged.
"Sometimes I wonder why I still put up with you, to be honest. Call it patience, masochism, idiocy. I don't know."
"I thought I hated you once though," she brushed the tip of her finger along the soil. "When you rejected me. But later on, I came to realize that what I hated was the situation and the fact that you didn't return my feelings. It messed me up so I focused all my negative feelings on you instead. I mean, yeah, you weren't so nice with your words but I like, couldn't hate you for not returning the same feelings. It wouldn't be fair to you."
"Anyway, after I got over it and you, I was fine. I felt neutral about you, I didn't care," she raised her chin and scowled at no one in particular. "Then nearly two years after, you suddenly turn around and start acting some type of way. Saying things to me that I wasn't sure if you meant them or not...I tried ignoring you," she scoffed a short laugh while rolling her eyes. "Obviously that didn't work."
"Then that time," her voice dropped to a murmur as a heat crept up her face. "Last week..."
Katsuki, who had long ago snapped out of his shocked state, went red, similarly recalling what had gone down between them. Feelings of guilt flared up in his gut and he bit down the urge to punch his lights out.
"You confused me," he heard her continue. "Because you stirred up feelings I had long ago tucked away so naturally, I lashed out at you. And you, being you, didn't make things any clearer and just made them worse. You'd say one thing yet you'd do the opposite...You know, for an honest guy, you're not that straightforward with me."
(Y/n) took in a deep breath and shrugged. "So there you have it. None of what she said was true."
"You say that like you think I'll give a fuck either way. And I didn't ask for you to clarify shit to me. I was fine without it."
She rolled her eyes. Yet you still listened to everything I said. "I know you didn't but you wanted to hear it from me, right?"
Katsuki didn't respond. He instead ran a hand down his face.
Once again, just when he thought he had her figured out, he realizes that he got it all wrong. Now that he knew the truth, he couldn't help but feel stupid and angry at himself. He had allowed that witch to mess with his mind and corrupt his view of (Y/n). He was right about her the first time. (Y/n) wasn't like Hanabitch, not one bit. But when he started making connections to what happened between them and what was said, the coincidence was so fucking uncanny. That and how (Y/n) was acting towards him...
He repeatedly smacked the heel of his palm to his forehead. Fuck.
He had let himself get so wrapped up with his theories that he had forgotten to consider the truth. That Hanabitch was the devil's incarnate and (Y/n) was...what was she? A while back, he saw her as nothing special, an extra that he had the misfortune to consider likable.
Heck, she couldn't even pass the first round of the sports festival and had to sit back and cheer with the rest of the other side characters from the fucking bleachers! No wonder her fighting skills took him by surprise back there, because he's never given her the time of day to consider her a worthy opponent. Despite his feelings for her, he never once asked her to spar with him, because he saw her as a weak person and a waste of time.
But after spending time with her, he had come to learn a few things; she was annoying, she never stops complaining, she wasn't useless, she still looked decent even with leaves and muck in her hair, she wasn't a terrible fighter and he was completely wrong about her.
He had spent so much time and energy hating her and causing her pain because he'd always believed that he was out of her league and that the universe had wronged him for making him fall for her. When all this time, it was the other way around...
Even after all the bullshit he put her through, forcing her to bear responsibility for his feelings, hurting her, making her cry, she still didn't hate him. She kept up with him for so long but he didn't have the fucking decency to meet her halfway, even after accepting how he felt about her.
Gritting his teeth, Katsuki covered his eyes with his palm.
He didn't deserve her. She was too good for him, and maybe, a part of him had known that all along and that's why he had worked his hardest to make her feel like she wasn't good enough.
He was fucked up and he fully deserved that first punch she dealt him. He had that one coming for him from the very beginning.
"Since I answered your question," her tentative voice broke through his self-loathing thoughts. "Can I ask one of mine?"
Katsuki dropped his hand with a sigh. He felt exhausted already, emotionally, and mentally. "Fine. What is it?"
"Do you...do you really like me?"
Katsuki froze. While accepting to reply, he hadn't stopped to consider that it could be that type of question. His mouth opened to reply but nothing came out. He just couldn't say the words. Clamping his mouth shut, he looked down at the ground with shame and anger darkening his features.
He just couldn't do it.
Meanwhile, (Y/n) felt like a small piece of her already broken heart had been chipped off. She bit down on trembling lower lip as tears pricked at her eyes. A painful lump appeared at the base of her throat and she tried to swallow it down.
Wait. Why am I crying? (Y/n) drew in a sharp breath and blinked her tears away. She looked heavenwards and took in another deep breath. I shouldn't be crying. It won't make things any different.
She lowered her head and cleared her throat. She let out a shaky exhale and forced a smile. You're okay, girl. You're okay.
After making sure that she wasn't going to cry, she slowly got up to her feet and went around the tree to where Katsuki was. She stared down at him with indifference and he also rose to his feet so that their gazes would be leveled.
He anxiously waited for her to talk, not sure what she'd say after basically shooting down her question like that.
"You don't deserve to win, that much I'm sure of," was the first words that came out of her mouth.
Katsuki thinned his lips, his eye twitching but he didn't say anything back.
"Anyone in my shoes would agree. You annoy me because you're a difficult person to deal with," she paused in quick thought. "No, you're a terrible person actually. But as the only judge here, I will look at you in the unbiased way you don't deserve."
His eyes narrowed and she reciprocated with a furrowed gaze.
"You have your reasons for doing the things you do, I'd like to believe so. I can spend ages, an eternity even trying to figure you out and I'll probably never get to the bottom of why you act the way act." she trained her gaze to the side. "So I'm not going to do that because right now, I've got much bigger fish to fry."
Katsuki considered her for a second with a cocked brow. He shoved his hands into his pockets. "So what now?"
She looked back at him. "If I agreed to sit back and lose, it'd only mean that I let Satori win," she scowled. "And I'm done letting her run my life for so long. She told you all those things because she knew you'd act on them. As much as you try not to show that you care, you're an emotional person but you channel all of that into your anger. She knows that fact all too well and she knows how to hit it where it hurts," she rolled her eyes. "You were just dumb enough to let her do that."
Katsuki's fingers curled into fists in his pockets. A throbbing vein popped in his neck as he ground down on his jaw.
(Y/n) sighed and scratched her head. "I'm...not blameless either. She told me some things too and..." she shook her head. "I'm dumb too, okay? I've been letting her get into my head from the very beginning and I've handled a lot of things opposite of how I should've. I want to make things right, so why not start by doing something once and for all?"
Katsuki remained silent but his features relaxed.
The girl shrugged once more before she looked up at the sky. They were no longer covered with tree canopies, giving her a clear view of the cloudless, blue sky. It was perfect.
She looked back down at him. "I'd hate to ask but how much firepower do you have left?"
"Enough to burn this fucking jungle to the ground."
"That's a lie but okay," ignoring Katsuki's offended glare, she glanced at the timekeeper and grimaced. "We have five minutes left..." she dropped her arm. "We can't make it if we run. So..." she tilted her head. "Fancy a shortcut?"
Katsuki's scowl twisted into a smirk. "You don't have to ask me twice."
He took out a hand from his pocket and extended it out to her. "Here."
(Y/n) looked down at his palm and frowned when she saw a five yen coin in it.
"Why did you have a coin in your pocket?" she shot him a quizzical look. "Were you expecting to find a canteen here?"
"I forgot it in there, okay!" he snarled, turning his head away from her out of embarrassment. "Just shut up and turn!"
The girl silently scoffed before she gingerly placed her hand in his. She stared at their hands, noting the size difference and the fact that it was the first time holding his hand.
His fingers curled around her hand and she nearly forgot to breathe.
"Hey."
"Hm?" her eyes flitted up to his face, a small blush blooming on her cheeks. The boy wasn't looking at her, but instead was frowning at the distance.
"Once you see her, you better fuck her shit up," he said. He gently squeezed her hand to emphasize his point and the red tint on his cheeks darkened. "Y'hear me?"
(Y/n)'s lips quirked up into a small smirk. "How can I say no when you put it like that?"
Katsuki's eyebrows furrowed further, and his heart rate quickened. He felt her hand disappear from his and he turned to where she was earlier standing. She was nowhere to be seen, but on his hand was another coin, similar to the one he had. But unlike the normal coin, her coin had her face on it.
He tossed the normal coin away before pocketing (Y/n). He threw a glance at his timekeeper. Three minutes left.
He got into a crouch and splayed his arms back. He looked up, and sparks detonated from his palm. With one large blast, he took off into the air. Once he was suspended up in their air, he looked towards the direction of the finish line. Right there, at the base of the mountain, he saw it. His eyes zeroed on the pole propped up at the base, with a red flag tied around it. He guessed that he had to grab the flag and out they were.
Smirking, he directed his blasts in the air and shot towards it. His forearms spasmed like crazy and his head was killing him but there was no way in hell he'd let them lose. Not after (Y/n) had given him a chance to get to the finish line. He could feel his palms burn out while in the air but not yet. He was too close. They were too close.
He could practically hear the countdown beeping in his ears as he got closer. With a yell, he detonated a large blast that propelled him further forward. He shot out a hand in front, ready to grasp the flag. His fingers curled around the cloth and the world around him melted in front of his eyes before he could crash into the mountain's base. His vision was blinded, much like it was when they first entered into the room and a large gust of wind blew past his face, pushing his bangs back.
The light got dull and before he knew it, he was back in his world. His detonations died out and he planted his feet on the cemented ground, coming to a stop with a skid. He panted harshly as he lifted his head to scan his surroundings. He stiffened with a gasp. He was currently in a huge, gym-like facility but that wasn't what bothered him.
What bothered him was the fact that he wasn't the first person to arrive!
Dammit!
Hanging his head, he dug his hand into his pocket and took out the coin. He tossed it up into the air and (Y/n) changed back mid-air. She smoothly landed on her feet and looked around. Her reaction was the same as Katsuki's as she took in the sight of several students, both from Isami and U.A scattered around the facility.
Her shoulders drooping with a sigh, she rubbed a hand up and down her arm and bowed her head. We...weren't the first...
"Bakugou and (L/n)," a robotic voice announced out of nowhere.
The students who hadn't noticed their arrival snapped their heads towards them. The duo looked up to try and locate where the voice was coming from.
"Total points 1,428. Bonus points; 200. Total points; 1628."
(Y/n)'s forehead creased when she heard a couple of gasps from the other students.
"Position; first place."
What? (Y/n) blinked, startled and confused. First place? But how-we-
She exchanged looks with Katsuki, who looked similarly confused by the announcement.
She didn't have time to question their placing when a loud squeal came from behind them. She and Katsuki both looked over their shoulders in tandem.
Mina was running towards (Y/n) with a smile and open arms while Kirishima followed behind, his eyes and grin on Katsuki.
"(Y/n)!!" Mina loudly gushed. "You got first place!!"
"Uh..." (Y/n) turned around while rubbing the back of her neck, a confused smile on her face. "Yeah, I guess?"
However, her smile slowly faded into a panicked expression when she realized what was about to happen.
"Wait no- Mina wait!" holding her hands out to stop her, she took a step back but that wasn't enough to stop Mina, who tackled her in a bear hug.
(Y/n) wheezed when Mina's full weight crashed into her and she fell with the girl on top of her battered body. Gasping, Mina scrambled to get off (Y/n). She sat back on her heels before pulling the girl up by her hands to sit.
"Are you okay?" Mina inquired, a sheepish look on her face. "I got too excited, sorry."
"It's...okay," (Y/n) tightly smiled. "No harm done." Yeah, it's not like my spine is not already cracked or something.
"Ah! I'm so happy though!!" Mina squealed again while clapping her hands. "You guys got the most points and put our school back in first place!"
"Really?" (Y/n) wondered while rubbing her back. She really needed to get an ice pack for that.
"Yeah!" Kirishima cheerily replied and clapped Katsuki on his back. "We were totally getting crushed out here! Nearly all top positions were held by Isami pairs! You guys saved our asses last minute!"
Katsuki elbowed Kirishima's side with his nose crinkled. "Get off me Shitty Hair! You smell like smoke!"
"Bro, you smell like that too," Kirishima defensively crossed his arms over his chest. "And you can't blame me for that. My room had a lot of fire in it."
Throwing her head back, Mina whined. "He's right. A lot of us had tough rooms," she lowered her head and gave (Y/n) a concerned look. "We were so worried when the timer was counting down and you guys hadn't showed up. We were wondering-" she turned to Katsuki and her yellow irises did a double-take when she saw his nose. "Eh, Bakugou? Did you get into a fight with a kangaroo?"
"Hah?!" Katsuki whipped his head to snarl at her. "No, I fucking didn't!!"
"Then why is your nose purple?"
"SHUT UP!!"
A distance away, Satori stared at the four lively teenagers with a disgruntled scowl.
She was sitting on the hard ground, her legs crossed with her weight leaning back on her arms. The boy sitting beside her, her partner, ran a hand through his curly hair with a defeated sigh.
"Well, there goes our first place," he said with a sad chuckle. "We were so close too..."
Satori brushed his comment off, her grey eyes not once derailing from Katsuki and (Y/n). She curled her upper lip and turned away from the disgusting sight.
Just how the fuck did they manage first place?! Not only that, how did they manage to get out together?!
She tsked.
Things weren't looking so good. She had to talk to (Y/n).
And put her in her place. Once and for all.
