|Epilogue|

Kim Jongdae couldn't help the delighted laughter to leave his lips as he read through the remaining pages of the booklet he just so happened to fall upon this busy day.

The fresh-faced music producer was supposed to unpack all the last of the boxes he and Min Hae couldn't finish the other day. He didn't mean to open one of her personal boxes on purpose. He was still a walking zombie when his girlfriend of 6 years told him he needed to finish today since she had been called in for work.

And thus, the bothersome boy was able to find something quite private in the midst of the chaos.

He told himself that he shouldn't read it, but, for god sakes, he wants to know if the girl was hiding some dark secrets from him.

No, he didn't mean her cheating on him. Jongdae trusted his girl too much to think in that way.

He meant like... Embarrassing information that he could maybe blackmail her with later... Or some kinks that Min Hae might have hidden away in the vault and never told him.

The idea of knowing this information made him giddy and he had opened the diary to read.

The first few pages consisted mostly of the typical high school drama and he couldn't even believe how much of a drama queen she had been. How amusing, but it didn't make him love her less, if anything, he loved her even more (if that was even possible). It just showed that she was human, and this diary was her outlet.

Continuing his read, he finally made it to the point where her sophomore year of college started, the very year the two have met. He urged himself to stop reading but, why miss out on the chance of her writing about him? What sweet words did she write for her lovable, handsome boyfriend?

But the pages were filled with much more than he expected. Sure, the beginning of their friendship consisted of him always trolling in her presence, always teasing and joking, typical of Kim Jongdae to do. Then, there was a shift in her writing, of when realization had hit her that she had feelings for him and all the drama between the two stirred. The feelings she had poured out onto these pages captivated him. The love, the rage, the sadness of it all, he felt it through her writing.

He read on, heart aching at the pain Min Hae had gone through just by liking him.

If only he had been more confident in his own feelings and did what had to be done earlier, she wouldn't have to go through that unnecessary heartbreak. But he was broken too during that time, so confused, no direction to where to go, only trying to think of others rather than himself.

Then came the pages of the time where they were finally together. Jongdae grinned brightly at the written days of their first kiss, their first date, their first I love yous. Sure, it was a rocky start, but eventually, it worked out. These pages just showed how genuine their feelings for each other were.

And that last page? He'll admit that he was completely moved by the words of encouragement. They were all so true and so raw, as he, she, and everyone else had gone through obstacles in life and conquered them one way or another.

No matter how much things were in their way, they had stuck together through the years. There were days of loneliness, struggling to stay on the path they so desired, late nights of video calls and text messages to keep in tab of their relationship. They managed through so much.

And now they're about to live in the same apartment together... and hopefully more soon.

"Jongdae... What do you have in your hands?"

At the doorway stood the girl he would do absolutely everything and anything for. Instead of the welcoming, warm expression she always held when she sees him, her face held panic and slight anger.

"Min Hae, jagi!" Jongdae chimed, bursting up onto his feet, his arms outstretched for her to run into. The starting psychiatrist didn't bare any happiness, her dark brown eyes focused on the small book in his hand. "Welcome ho--"

"Is that what I think it is?" She asked him frantically, storming over after slamming the door behind her.

With bubbly laughter, Jongdae held the book high above their heads, far too high for Min Hae to reach. In spite of this, the girl did what she had to do. Slender fingers shot out and clutched to the male's sides, commencing the tickle wars. Jongdae winced, his laughing uncontrollable to the point that he was snorting like a pig. He crumpled onto the couch behind him, whimpering out strings of defeat and apologies, as Min Hae snatched her diary back from his hands.

She glared at her breathless boyfriend, because how dare he?

Min Hae had read that diary before she had stuffed it into one of her boxes for the move and, my goodness, it was so cringeworthy to read. A bit melodramatic in her younger years and she couldn't even believe it herself that that was her. And now her boyfriend seen it, she would much rather hide in a hole and never come out.

Once Jongdae had calmed down from his high, he sat up to look at the girl, whose face was etched with concern. "Babe, there's nothing to worry about, you wrote in things that I already know about." His famous Cheshire grin tugged at his lips. "You really liked me, didn't you?"

Min Hae was mortified at this point, her cheeks flushed and her eyes avoiding his. Just the teasing tone in his voice was enough to want to smack him. "Shut up. We're together, after all."

"Babe~" She spared a glance. Jongdae was gesturing for her to come over, to walk into his arms so he could give her a proper greeting. At the sight of her awaiting boyfriend, the poor girl's resolve faltered.

After all, she did try to rush home to squeeze in some alone time with her boyfriend before the housewarming party later.

Min Hae launched herself onto Jongdae, arms wrapping around his neck and bodies cuddled close. Jongdae was quick to press a hundred kisses on her precious, beautiful face, earning small giggles from the very girl. It was just moments like this that the couple craved for the most, just wrapped within each other, the only thing they need was the other's company.

"I may be snuggling up to you right now, but I'm still mad that you read my diary," Min Hae breathed out into the crook of his neck. She pulled away from him, eyes narrowed once again into a glower. "I feel like I need to burn that book now."

"Babe, no," Jongdae replied with a pout. He snaked his arms back around her waist and rested his forehead onto her shoulder. "You should keep it. I love the fact that most of those pages had me in them. Honestly, it made me relive some nice memories. Can you believe how long ago that was now? A shit long time ago."

"Yeah, I know." She untangled herself from his hug, despite how much she wanted to stay in his arms. "Alright, I'm going to change out of my outfit into something more comfortable. Our guests will be here soon." She scanned their living room. Jongdae did a decent job with unpacking, but a few of their belongings still strayed about. "Please, at least, set the boxes to the side? We need some room for everyone."

An agitated sigh left the male's left, but he nodded anyway. "Alright, babe. I got this." With a smile, Min Hae turned her heel and made her way to their shared bedroom, with her diary in her grasp to hide it somewhere no one could never, ever find it.

Jongdae hopped back onto his feet and did as he was told. He pushed the unopened boxes all the way to the walls, some of the smaller ones stacked on top of the bigger ones. He cleaned up the mess he made and fixed the furniture so their quaint apartment looked neat. No way in hell was he going to have Kyungsoo on his ass for living in a "pigsty."

Jongdae rolled his eyes at that recent conversation.

The male straightened up, trying to listen in to what Min Hae might be doing as of now. He could hear her blasting some music in the bedroom, possibly still dressing up for tonight.

Jongdae hurried down the opposite direction of the hallway to the closet where they keep all their spare bedsheets and towels. From the second row at the bottom, he took out a small, black velvet box from the folds of the towels.

The male opened the box really quick just to make sure the ring was still inside.

Knock, knock, knock!

The ring nearly fumbled out of his very hands at the unexpected visitors. A sigh of relief left his lips once he managed to hold onto the important box. "Baby, open the door please!" Min Hae's voice called out from the bedroom. "That must be them."

"I got you, girl!" He shouted back in reply. He snapped the box closed and stuffed it into his jeans pocket. With a sigh, he mentally readied himself for what will come tonight.

Remember what to say.

Don't mess up.

Don't even try to stutter, Jongdae.

Because that girl with the Tokyo Ghoul snapback you finally had the guts to say hello to six years ago is the one.

Min Hae rushed out of the bedroom, hands running down her skirt to smooth out the creases. She gave him an odd look for standing by the door so blankly. With a tilt of her head at the male, she asked with a playful smirk, "Are you seriously going to make me open the door? What are you staring off into space for?"

Jongdae pulled onto her hand and brought his lips to hers in a sweet, chaste kiss.

"Just thinking how lucky I am right now to have a loser like you love a loser like me."

. . . . . . . . . . . .

A/n: Ohsehun, why is Jongdae's new song so perfect for this story?
