We spent a lot of time together today.

We cooked, we played, and I introduced him to my mom.

She got emotional, bursting into waterworks, before repeatedly thanking him for being my friend. 

Too much emotions.

Then the nurse came over to give me my daily dose of chemo and he stayed beside me the whole time.  

It didn't feel as lonely or sad when it was done with him. 

I liked the way he held my hand the entire time, till I fell asleep. I couldn't remember anything after that.

But when I woke  up, he was still there, though his sleeping position was rather uncomfortable. 

I asked one of the male nurses to help him onto my bed.

And we both lie together. 

However, I found myself unable to sleep. I stared into his face, those long eyelashes, monolid eyes and nose with plump lips which were parted, and he took raspy breaths through his mouth.
