Annabella's POV

I woke up the next morning with pain all over my body. Guess I fainted last night.  Standing up was so difficult but I had to if I don't want Mrs Lucy bursting in our room any minute considering that it's quarter past nine in the  morning . 

I saw Mrs Lucy in the kitchen when I got downstairs and I felt bad for waking up late and not helping her. I tried to walk straight but failed miserably.

"Good morning Mrs Lucy" I tried to sound cheerful but my voice came out strained

"Oh dear what happened to you. You look like you didn't get any sleep and you're limping instead of walking." She spoke softly in a concerned tone  and then suddenly as if she remembered something she clapped and winked at me
"Or was Brian a little rough on you last night"

I blushed shyly at her giving her the impression that what she said was true when in actual fact I'm still a virgin. Funny right? But that's right. My husband find me so disgusting that he doesn't even sleep near me talk more of having sex with me.

"I'll get you some pain relief. You'll feel much better after you take it"

"Thanks Mrs Lucy" I hugged her.

After some hours of sleep, I was so bored and I decided to hang out with my best friends Julie and Emma. I missed them so much and I needed to get my mind off Brain  for a while. I called the two girls and we fixed a meeting at Julie's boutique.

I took a quick shower and wore a short blue gown that hung to my body like a second skin and a silver two inch sandal. I carried my silver cutch and applied a little make up. I left my hair flowing down my back. Satisfied with my look, I left the house in my new car that was presented as my wedding gift by my father in law.

I got to Julie's boutique and I felt so happy seeing my best friends again. I had to put a facade as I  didn't want my friends to be worried about me.

"Look who's here. The latest bride in town" I smiled at Emma's word.

I hugged the duo and sat down. I turned to see the two giving me the give- us-the-whole-gist look.

" what?" I shrugged

"Gist us please" Julie rolled her eyes at me

"In full details please" Emma said getting really excited. " How was the first time? Was it painful? Was Brain gentle?" She kept on blabbing

I wish I could talk to them. I just wish I could share my pains with them but no I don't want them to be too worried about me.

I saw a ring on Emma's finger and I decided to use that as a distraction.

" Oh my God ems Is that a ring?"

She smiled happily as I took her hand.

"I'm so happy for you babes" I hugged her. I was indeed happy for her. Her boyfriend finally proposed. She had a rough past with men dumping her. I noticed something was off about Julie. She's been awfully quiet.

I took her hand. " Don't worry jul. The right man will come soon"

"I hope" she said coldly and dropped my hand quickly. What was that for? I shrugged it off as I thought she needed space.

We talked about other things ranging from our past lovely moments, high school boyfriends, latest news on fashion and all and I was somewhat happy that the topic have been switched from me.

I was beginning to enjoy the company of my friends when my phone rang. I checked to see who the called was and Brain's name flashed on the screen.

"Hello" I tried hard not to sound indifferent in the presence of my friends.

"Where the hell are you" came his angry tone. " with one of your fuck buddy you whore" he taunted. I couldn't help the tears that rolled down my cheeks.

I saw concern on Julie's face and was it my imagination or was Julie actually smiling

" I need you back at home right now" I took my bag as I dashed out quickly ignoring Emma's concerned voice calling out to me.

I got into my car and drove as fast as I could.

God what's my offence?
