A lifeline is a thing that binds you to live
So why would you want to loose something as simple as that
Why tell me something to make me be lost, it doesn't matter
You got another lifeline ready to take my place

Do I ever spread rumors, Do I ever lie
Do I ever joke, do I ever cry
With you I do, or used to when I was your lifeline and you were mine
Now you have a different someone with a different shoulder to cry on

I should be able to move past this by next week
But I don't think I will
I think I'll be stuck lying in bed all alone with regret and sorrow and guilt and argh!
Why did it have to be me that you ran to first?! That you gravitated towards?! What makes me so special?!
What makes her so special?

Once upon time there were two girls
Those two girls had each other and they were lifelines together
Until they weren't
They were pulled apart and both the girls lost their lifelines
Forever
