A letter to Darla (4)
Dear Darla,
I am so sorry that I haven't written to you for so long. I have missed our conversations. Many things have happened since we last spoke. Because I primarily only lament to you, I have decided that this letter should be as cheerful as possible.
For instance, I have found out that jumping spiders sometimes wear water droplets as hats. I am sure there is some practical reason behind why, but they look so freaking cute. I don't know, it just made my day so I felt like I should share it with you.
I am also improving my relationship with my fellow soldiers. We are all ready to return home for the week following this one. Even our guardians are ready. We all have a common longing for the break.
This past weekend, I experienced something that words can only touch, not grasp; Unity. Oneness. For once in this war, I looked on either side and saw an army holding my hand, standing with me, as opposed to pulling me down. I charged over the hills, with new friends and old with the wind whistling in my hair. Is that was freedom feels like? Thousands of voices singing verses of a queen's anthem? Is that what community sounds like? I feel so blessed to have sampled such bliss.
I feel peace, and therefore want to share it with you.
Speaking of sharing, my voice was broadcasted to my targeted audience. Those I wanted to reach heard me. They listened and are now processing. I have taken my first step to making a change for the better. I am so glad that Ada is here to guide me.
-Kadoc
