A/N: Hey it's the 50th chapter! Parang kailan lang... I hate me! I think I'm about to start another story lol gonna keep my shit together! And sorry for the lack of updates lately, I'm busy with job and I'm working on something! Yaaay❤️

Pi

"Good morning Daddy!"

Dad peered at me from reading the morning paper. Ilang beses siyang umubo bago gumanti ng bati sa akin.

"Good morning Pi," bumaba ang tingin niya sa tiyan ko. "Hindi ko na mahihintay na makita ang apo ko." He tapped the space beside him kaya agad akong naupo roon, leaning my head on his shoulder. Even if I'm going to be a mother soon, I'm still my father's daughter.

One thing he made me realized is that parenthood never stops.

Antonio Bellomo is one hell of a tough guy. He maybe one of the most dangerous man alive yet it's undeniable that he's one of the sweetest father. Ever.

He's my treasure and so we are to him kaya ayaw ko ang tinatraydor siya. His health is deteriorating lately and it always worry me.

"Dad, nangangayayat ka na."

"Siguro abala lang sa negosyo," sagot niya kasunod ng sunod-sunod na pag-ubo.

"Pero daddy..."

"I've done enough evil deed in this world Pi, paano kung ito na pala ang karma sa mga nagawa ko?" wika niya. "At least I know na magiging maayos ang buhay ninyo ni John. The business is doing great--"

"It doesn't matter dad, ang mahalaga ay maayos ang kalagayan mo."

He caressed my hair and kissed the top of my head. "Kidding... You know karma took almost everything in me in advance kaya ano man ang kalagayan ko ngayon, labas na ang karma rito. But still, I'm old Pi."

"Yes but..." I think I'm about to throw a tantrum. I hate it when dad will start sprouting nonsense like this. Mahinang sinapak ko ang braso niya. "You're going to see my baby Dad. Ikakarga mo pa siya, you'll make him laugh, magpapalit ka ng diaper niya and you two will be best buddies. You will be the best lolo to him ever!"

Maging siya ay tila naexcite sa isiping iyon. "Him?"

I nodded with a smile. "I think he's a him, and I swear he'll look a lot like his father."

He smiled in relief. "Sa tingin ko ay maskwerte ka sa magiging asawa mo Pi. And speaking of him, you're getting married in two weeks."

I pouted at him, "Haller, maswerte rin siya sa akin Dad. Hindi siya lugi!"

He coughed in between his laughter. "Sure he is. I like the guy, may salita at paninindigan."

"Yup, that's Rocket!"

Naging sunod-sunod ang kanyang pag-ubo kaya nag-alala na ako. "Ayos ka lang Dad?" Inalalayan ko siyang tumayo. "Magpahinga na tayo."

"Para naman akong matanda kung makaalalay ka," natatawang sabi niya. His laughter was suddenly cut off by a gun shot on the wall. Sunod-sunod iyon kaya agad ko siyang itinulak upang makadapa.

Damn it! It's weekend so I asked the guards to take an off and this happens?! Mabilis na dumapa rin ako at tinungo ang ilalim ng sofa kung saan may nakatago na mga baril.

"Huwag kang gumalaw diyan Daddy!"

I crawled towards the window to check who if someone's shooting outside ngunit wala kaya malamang ay nasa malayo iyon.

I ducked in surprise nang muntik nang tumama ang bala sa ulo ko.

This guy is seriously getting into my nerves! Duwag naman, nasa malayo! Why not come here for a close combat?!

Sunod-sunod ang naging putok at agad kong napagtanto kung saan galing ang putok. From a car, not that far from us. A guy in black suit hide before driving off.

Shit that fucker! He's not getting away!

I was about to grab some keys but I think I'm forgetting something!

Si Daddy!

Binalikan ko siya sa pwesto niya kanina, and all hell breaks loose when I found him covered in blood as he gripped his side where the blood from.

Sinugod sa ospital si Daddy, although I was dying to go after that motherfuxker who shot him. But I have to postpone that and secure dad's safety first. Tinawagn ko si Zero at hindi naman nagtagal ay dumating siya at sinamahan ako sa ospital.

"Ikaw Pi, okay ka lang?" tanong niya sa akin.

I nodded slowly, looking at the door of the operating room kung nasaan si Dady. Gusto kong sumigaw at magwala ngunit hindi iyon ang emosyong nailalabas ko. It was anger and will to get even.

Lintek lang ang walang ganti.

"Siguraduhin lang niyang mabubuhay si Daddy dahil kung hindi..." I gritted my teeth. "I'll hunt him down even in hell."

Inabot niya ang kamay kong nakapatong sa tuhod ko. "Pi--"

"Pi!"

Sabay kaming napalingon sa kararating na si Rocket. Hinila niya ako patayo, kaya bumitaw na lang din si Zero.

"What happened? Okay ka lang ba? Hindi ka ba nasaktan--"

"I'm fine Rocket but dad's not."

He sighed as he turned to Zero, giving him an obvious hateful look. "May ideya ba kayo kung sino ang may gawa?"

I shook my head. "No, but I'm sure Flavio's the mastermind."

Nagpalipat-lipat ang tingin niya sa amin ni Zero bago siya nagsaluta. “Can I talk to you for a while Pi?”

Mahinang tumango ako at sumunod sa kanya sa sulok, kung saan hindi kami maririnig ni Zero. “What is it?”

His gaze flickered on me. “I know that look on you.”

I blinked, playing dumb to what he said. “What look?”

Huminga siya ng malalim at naging malumanay ang boses. “That you’re not stopping until you kill the guy who shoot your dad... I know how you feel but...” Worried crossed over his face. “You’re pregnant.”

Good to know he’s able to read that look on my face. “No you don’t know what I feel. My dad’s shoot, in my presence. Hindi ko maatim na maupo lamang.”

He brushed his fingers on his hair, sighing. I know he’s trying his best not to make this into a big argument between us but he also knew asking me that matter is impossible. I have to kill that guy on my own and stay safe with my baby. Yes I can.

But the devil’s beginning to get mad too.

“Can’t we just ask a reaper to do so?” Tumingin siya sa direksyon ni Zero na nakatingin rin sa gawi namin. “Or ask your dog to do the job--”

“Hindi mo ako naiintindihan Rocket.”

“No I get it!” his voice somewhat raised. “You’ll go all the way to just have your revenge and putting yourself and my kid in harm. That’s it right?”

Nakipagsukatan ako ng tingin sa kanya. In most times, I would have won this staring contest but not today. I’m mad, sad, worried, angry and all emotions in one. Arguing with him will only worsen the situation.

“Don’t be an ass right now Ryu.”

“You’re the one being an ass right now.”

Arguing with him will be pointless.

I don’t know, I just dont want to argue.

I rolled my eyes at akmang tatalikuran siya ngunit hindi pa man ako nakakaisang hakbang ay hinawakan niya ang braso ko.

“We’ll wait for the doctor’s word and after that, you’re going home with me,” wika niya. His voice was authoritative, the one that sounded final and irrevocable.

Like I said it’s pointless to argue with him right now.

Napabuga ako ng hangin at tumango sa kanya. That somewhat relaxed him.

Fine, I’m coming home with him tonight.

...and slipped out later.

RYU

She’s relieved to know her father was out of danger. Alam kong hindi maganda ang pinagdadaanan niya ngayon but what good will her revenge do? Odds are, she could get herself and our child to danger and that’s not what I wanted to happen.

Gustuhin ko mang magalit sa kanya, pinigilan ko ang sarili ko. At times like this, I have to understand her. She’s going on something heavy to bear and loosing my shit will only make it worse.

Ayaw ko ring bumalik ang kanyang mga masasamang panaginip. Lately, she hasn’t gotten nightmares since she cried that night on the villa. Ayaw kong mangyari ulit iyon, knowing this incident was a repeat of the bad memories she had as a kid.

Nagpresenta ang aso niyang si Zero na magbantay sa ospital, and I went home with her. Sa sasakyan ay tahimik lamang siya at nakatanaw sa malayo. She somewhat looked calm but I know there were million of things running in her mind right now.

She agreed to go home with me, it was a surprise because I expected her to object and insist on doing what she wants. Maybe she’s worried for the baby too that’s why she went home with me.

But still a silent titless is not what I am used to.

Nang makarating kami sa bahay nila ay tahimik doon. The guards scattered around the place, alert in case a similar incident happens. Naroon pa ang mga marka ng bala sa pader kaya inakbayan ko siya paakyat ng hagdan upang huwag na niyang makita ang mga bakas ng mga nangyari.

Her brother is already in his room at kanina ay dumalaw rin ito sa ospital. We went to her room and she’s still silent as she threw away her shoes on the side.

“Pi?”

Napatingin siya sa akin. Her eyes were sad but there’s more to it.

“Are you good?” I know she’s not but I still want to ask.

Tumango siya bilang sagot. “I’m fine now that he’s safe Rocket. Gusto ko nang magpahinga.”

”I’m staying over for the night.”

Normally, she would be happy about it. She loves it when I stay over but tonight, she doesn’t look happy about it. “Wala ka bang trabaho?”

“Canceled all my plans and duties.”

“Hindi ka ba hahanapin ng mommy mo?”

I shook my head. “Informed her already I’m staying over.”

“Or wala ka bang ihahack na kahit ano?”

“I’m not a hacker,” wika ko at binuksan ang closet niya kung saan may mga damit akong naroon. She saved a space for my things and although it’s a small thing, I liked it. It's like she really saved a space in her personal world for me.

“But...”

Hinubad ko ang suot na damit at  kumuha ng pamalit. “Ayaw mo bang nandito ako?”

I felt her walk towards my back and hugged me from behind, pressing her cheek on my scarred back. “Gusto.”

“You don’t sound happy,” wika ko at ibinaba ang isusuot sana na damit at niyakap ang braso niyang nasa baiwang ko.

“I can’t.”

Tinanggal ko ang braso niya at hinarap siya. “Alam kong hindi maganda ang nangyari but please think of yourself too.”

She forced a smile and tiptoed to kiss me on the lips. “Sorry.”

“For what?” tanong ko. “You don’t have to say sorry to me Pi. It’s for yourself at mabuti na rin na napag-isip isip mong mas mabuting umuwi ka na muna, clear your mind and ensure your safety.”

She had that lonely gaze in her eyes, like a lost puppy. She looks so cute and adorable, but her hands were doing different as it roamed around my body.

Maybe she wanted sex to forget about what happened.

Or maybe not.

Her hands caressed my skin, trailing my taut muscles. “...but still sorry.”

“I told you, it’s not something you should be apologizing for---”

She put a finger on my lips to shush me. “I really mean it, sorry.”

I smirked, clueless. “Sorry for?”

I felt something sharp sting on my shoulder.

And something dropped on the floor.

...an empty syringe?

Oh shit!

This woman drugged me again.

Before I totally lose consciousness, she kissed my lips and smiled. “Sorry Rocket, gotta do this. See you in the morning, love.”
