Chapter 2
"You're fucking insane." Severus whispers in a horrified voice as you take a step towards him. "Sev?!" You gasp as you start to storm towards him about to give him a piece of your mind but he quickly turns and disappears around a corner. You sigh and decide to finish the last two hours of your prefect duties alone. You'd make up some lie to McGonagall and Slughorn as to why he wasn't there to report what happened at dawn. They never suspected that you were one of the more devious students. Mostly because even though you liked to party harder than Sirius every weekend you always made sure that your homework was done and turned in on time. Sirius on the other hand relied too much on his charm and good looks which wasn't as infallible as he liked to think.
It was close to the middle of your last round when you turned a corner and your heart sank. Standing there in the middle of the corridor was Snape, all four Marauders plus Lily, Dorcas, Marlene, and for some unexplainable reason Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix's own sister, Narcissa. But it wasn't any of them that your eyes were drawn to. No, it was the taller and thinner of the two Black brothers who was standing about two feet in front of the rest of the crowd. "Regulus." You whisper as your heart shatters and you know damn well where Severus rushed off to when he'd disappeared.
"Are you fucking mad?" He asks voicing the question that was on everyone's minds. "No. Consider it an experiment. Plus if I win I'll be able to say that I beat Bellatrix at her own game." You say with a shrug as you walk past the lot of them. "Holy shit." James, Sirius, Severus, and Lucius all breath as you walk by. The girls don't say anything but just look at one another before following behind you. "Y/N. Listen, I know I'm the last person you want to hear this from but...my sister is insane. Our mother, actually both of our parents if we're being honest, took everything out on her when we were growing up. She has no empathy, she will not listen when you beg for mercy, and she will not stop until she feels that you've had enough and usually that's when you're a babbling lunatic." Narcissa explains as the entire group follows you upstairs to the Great Hall. You hold up a finger to tell them to wait as you go in and hand both yours and Severus's reports to McGonagall.
"Is there a reason why there's a group of students in the hallway?" She asks sternly as she looks over her glasses at you then the group of your friends and enemies all gathered in the hallway. "Oh, um yeah. Peeves got up to some pretty mean hijinks last night and I sent a message with Severus that I needed some emotional support when I got off." You explain as you look over your shoulder at them. You felt bad lying like that to one of your favorite teachers but at the same time you were quite sure that if you told the truth she'd lock you up in some far away castle so that you'd never be able to step foot anywhere near Britain again. "Well, it seems like you have some very dear friends. I'll handle Peeves at once. You may have the rest of the weekend off." McGonagall says softly and you turn back to look at her. You can tell she knows something's up but you know she'd never pry unless it was extremely important. "Thank you, Professor." You mumbled before walking back towards the group.
"Room of Requirement." You mutter as soon as you're within earshot as you continue to walk right past all of them. The shorter ones have to run to catch up but the taller ones have very little trouble keeping pace with you as you lose yourselves in the winding maze of staircases and hallways. Finally you manage to find the blank wall with the weird archway and it takes a few minutes to clear your head enough to think of a simple enough phrase that will allow all of you into the same room. As soon as the door appears, you tear through it like the very demons of hell are on your heels and it doesn't take very long before the ones that you thought were your friends to start screaming like they are demons. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!" Lily screams as she bursts through the door on your heels. "Red, honey, you know I love it when you're fired up but it's 7am maybe we should keep it down." James says as he comes in behind her. "Oh fuck off, Potter! No one can hear us in here...do not get any ideas." Lily growls as she rounds on her boyfriend.
"Hmm. Now I see why he likes her." Lucius says with a smirk before getting elbowed in the ribs by Narcissa. "Ow! What?! I'm not saying that I like her I'm just saying I can understand where he's coming from!" Lucius whines as he rubs his now smarting ribs as Narcissa glares up at him. "Mon amour, s'il te plait reconsidère." Regulus begs in French as he tears through the door next with Sirius, Remus, and Peter right behind him. "Non! Elle a pris mon famille!" You respond back in perfect French. "Uh...can someone translate? Not meaning to be rude but some of us aren't quite as distinguished and don't speak baguette." Peter says just as Severus, Marlene, and Dorcas all walk through the door which locks behind them and Marlene stops dead with the most confused look on her face. "I'm sorry, you don't speak what exactly, Peter?" She asks as she tries not to crack up laughing. "Voulez vous coucher avec moi." Remus mutters from where he's standing beside Sirius. "Ne taquine pas petit loup tu sais que je le fais." Sirius responds as he pulls Remus to him and Remus turns an impressive shade of red.
"Oh my gods are you guys dirty talking in FRENCH?!" Dorcas yells as Marlene loses it next to her. "Oui," You, Regulus, Sirius, and Remus all answer in French and even Lucius can't help but crack up laughing. "I fucking can't with any of you," Dorcas says in a weary tone as she walks over to a chair that had magically appeared and sits down. "Mon amour," Regulus pleads as he pulls you to him and you sigh as you hang your head. "It's too late now. I've already sent her an owl and she's agreed." You whisper and stun the entire room.
