"Ivy, how come we have to sit here and hide out? My Epiphyllum oxypetalum in the greenhouse was supposed to bloom today, I was looking forward to seeing them tonight.. they will wilt when dawn hits." The boy pouted, resting his head on the palm of his hand in waiting. " And when they wilt I need to trim the flowers and collect the stems so the plant stays healthy"
The Redheaded women came into view, gingerly wrapping her arms around the other. " You just want the stems for the little potions you make." She spoke in a smooth velvety tone" Your apothecary has gotten quite the collection, Sprout."
The boy smiled softly " It helps when I have someone with a green thumb." He joked. " We both know I am more about the knowledge then the growing."
" I'm not so sure." Poison Ivy leaned in " My other babies seem to love your eyes, I know I do."
"You just like any young man you can get ensnared in your vines." Another small laugh escaped his lips, his eyes focusing on cracks in the concrete. " I do need some more Taraxacum however.. it's almost strep throat season" he gently stood up, lightly walking over to the yellow flowered weed and crouching down to pull a few leaves. "Thanks little guy."
Ivy's face soured slightly "The ones you took from the garden were not enough?" Ivy was not fond of weeds, especially when they try to take over her "babies'" beds.
"You were not complaining when you drank the tea I made out of them—" he held a finger to his lips, and Ivy froze in compliance. The dark haired boy pulled Ivy into the shadows, keeping out of sight. A few moments passed and a shadow crossed the doorway, stretching across the floor. The young man stayed quiet, silently moving their positions so they remained unseen. Another minute passed and the shadow moved away from the moonlight out out of the room. "Looks like the Batman is gone for now..but we better get moving just in case.."
" Deadly sharp senses for MY Deadly Nightshade." Ivy cooed, hugging the boy close.
"Someone has to keep you safe, as your only HUMAN baby I feel obligated when your sun-loving babies cannot." Nightshade grinned.
"You know very well that you are a son to me, too pure to be corrupted by humans, you might as well be a plant." Ivy countered. " You ask permission to take, and even so take only enough where the plant can be healthy."
" Well I leaned my kindness from the best." Nightshade glanced to Ivy, his blue eyes almost looking violet in the moonlight, just like the petals of Deadly Nightshade. "... it looks like the bat stopped looking for us, we are safe for the night."
" Are you sure of that? Or are you just eager to get back to the greenhouse?" Ivy teased, though she was happy to see that her little sprout had such a fondness and understanding of plants.
" A little bit of both." The boy admitted , giving a small shrug. " I really want you to see the flowers bloom with me.. I have only seen them in the books.. it will be completely different in real life."
Ivy shook her head, giving the raven haired boy a tender and endearing smile. " Sure, little sprout."
The boy let out a small groan in embarrassment " Ivy I am as tall as you, I'm seventeen already. I'm not your 'Little Sprout' anymore. Just the usual sized sprout thank you very much!" Nightshade grinned. It was almost hard to believe that he had been under Ivy's care for almost ten years. Learning as much as he could so he could be helpful to her. He took on the role of finding out which plants held medicinal properties-- just in case Poison Ivy got injured. Though, admittedly he knew most of the items he had were for very unlikely ailments. Nonetheless, Nightshade knew that there were plants that could help heal, just like there were plants that can cause some serious damage. He had a variety of plant based poisons in his apothecary, and that resulted in the name he was given. Deadly Nightshade, Atropa Belladonna a toxic plant that with just a few berries or a sliver of the root, can kill a full grown man. Though Ivy could do that with a single kiss.
"You will always be my Little sprout" Ivy moves to the doorway, looking out to the sky.
"Yeah Yeah." Nightshade ran his hand through his hair to get his bangs out of his face. "I do not think any of the women you let me seduce would say otherwise." Nightshade grinned.
"I taught you pretty well on that, didn't I?" Ivy looked at the other with a bemused look, giving a wink. "Well?" Ivy held out her hand. "Let's head back."
Nightshade grinned and grabbed her hand. "Do you think that your Rubus strigosus will let me have some of its berries when we get back"
Ivy laughed. "Women are not the only thing you can seduce, my babies are always willing to help."

"Mr. Grayson, You are late." A scratchy voice called out as a young man entered the lecture hall.
"My apologies Professor Lee. I had a few problems with my greenhouse irrigation system." The young man eyed a few of students who were smirking due to the fact that their professor's assistant was ALWAYS late. Dick placed a small container of raspberries on the professor's desk. "I did come bearing gifts however."
The middle aged man, Professor Lee, sighed and gave a slight smile. Sure, Dick Grayson was always late when it came to class; but, he never failed to make up for it with samples or treats from his miraculous garden. It was a wonder how he managed to get plants growing even when they were out of season. He asked once if he had gotten help, but the boy would just give his usual smile and brushed off the question. Dick Grayson was a curious young man. He had popped out of nowhere, yet his intelligence on botany and biology were staggering for such one at such a young age. Not to mention, the amount of students Grayson brought into his class every day. If only the female section of his class would pay as much attention to the materials as they did Grayson... perhaps then his class score average would increase exponentially. Professor Lee watched as he gave a few students in the front a charismatic and charming smile--their faces seeming to get redder than the raspberries Grayson left on his desk. "If you are finished flirting with my students, Mr. Grayson, could you return to the paperwork at my desk?"
"Certainly Professor Lee." Dick smirked, winking at the students, who gave a hushed laugh. He walked over to the desk and sat down, grading quizzes as the professor continued his lecture. Soon the lecture was over, and the students cleared out, well most of them, there were still a few lingerers that would just sit there and stare at the assistant--but Dick did not mind. He was a known seducer, it was only natural considering who he was raised by. What Dick DID mind was the loud noise of the lecture hall doors swinging open after everyone but Professor Lee and himself remained in the room. Dick Glanced up, surprised at the figure that was walking towards Professor Lee.
"I am sorry If I am intruding, I just was in need of an opinion on--" The suited man stopped and stared at Dick Grayson for a moment.
Dick blinked again, the pen in his hand fell to the desk. Did Bruce Wayne remember who he was? It has been almost a decade since that performance, there is no possible way.
"I did not realize one of your students were still here." Bruce Wayne rose an eyebrow, giving Dick a confused expression.
"Student? Ha! No. Young Mr. Grayson here is my assistant. But I am still trying to convince him he could do much better than a mere Assistant. He has a good head on his shoulders--"
"Awfully young to be an assistant, he is only--"
"I am flattered you think that, Professor Lee." Dick interrupted, giving the billionaire a slight glare of warning. "What did you need an opinion on Mr. Wayne?" It seemed that Bruce wayne did remember...And if he brought up his real age-- that would be too much trouble to deal with.
"I was wondering.." Bruce pulled out a handkerchief, opening to reveal a green glob at its center. "If you would be able to identify what this is."
Professor Lee moved in to take a closer look, adjusting his glasses as if it was a microscope and adjusting it would aid in him getting a better glimpse. "It looks like a moss... I will not be able to tell you more unless I can look at the sample with a microscope.
"Noctiluca" Dick spoke up, ignoring the adults' expression when he spoke up. "You can tell by the faint light it gives off, commonly found in water....but there is currently no place where such a moss can exist unless transported." Dick gave a small shrug, never missing an opportunity to show off. "Meaning either something or someone who is often in the sea, could have brought it here. So my Wayne, Do you scuba dive as one of your hobbies, or is there a reason you are trying to find out what this was?" Dick glanced at the billionare. There always was something about the playboy that did not sit right with him. The hair on the back of his neck stood up whenever he was mentioned, and now that he was here, warning signs flared up inside his mind; and his deadly acute sense of danger was never wrong. Who exactly was Bruce Wayne?
