1 Day: Canoes and Piano Time
????????'s POV
I swung my legs over the side of the building, kicking them while I watched the entrance to the theatre. My hands were clenched on the rough cement roof edge, anticipation coursing through my veins.
Once again I froze as someone exited the theatre, thinking it was my target. Seeing it wasn't, I relaxed slightly.
The wind buffeted my hair as I thought and rethought over my plan, the seconds ticking by too slowly for my rage as my eyes never left the theatre entrance.
At last I saw my target exit. This was what I had been preparing for; it was time. Lithe and silent, I pushed off the roof and landed with a soft thud on my feet, assuming a safe distance behind and following, waiting for the perfect moment to arrive to strike.
-1 Day Earlier-
(Anyone notice I've been counting down~?)
Eren's POV
Soft, melodic tinkling drifted into my ears, causing me to stir and roll over with a little whine. What was this that was waking me up so gosh darn early??
My eyelids cracked open and I made out the ceiling of Levi and I's bedroom, but not the source of the tune.
With a gigantic yawn, I sat up and stretched, feeling around for Levi's teeny form with one hand, but I couldn't find it.
The symphony increased and I found myself smiling as I heard what I now realized was a piano's song playing from outside.
I got up and slipped on my slippers (Ha!) and padded out, following my ears. I finally determined the source of the noise was coming from the living room, and I pushed open the swinging doors to see a sleek black grand piano sitting in the center.
Quiet as can be, even though I knew he could hear me, I tiptoed up to lean on the top, my head on my hand.
His eyes stayed closed, his fingers rapid but delicate on the keys, crafting an elegant array of notes. It was a song I had only heard a few times before; a song he had written especially for me.
A sweet smile crept onto my face as I listened and watched him. He seemed to move with the beats, feeling the melody flow throughout his entire body. I couldn't believe I was lucky enough to have him...
The last notes rang in the air and he finally let his hands slide off the keys and onto his thighs and opened his eyes, looking up at me with an embarrassed grin and whispering,
"Happy anniversary, Eren."
My smile grew until it ran from one ear to the other and I made my way behind Levi, wrapping my arms around him and kissing his cheek before laying my chin on his shoulder.
"Happy anniversary, Levi~"
Blushing slightly, he patted the bench and I sat next to him, as close as I could possibly get.
"Let's play that one song!!!" I suggested, my fingers flashing to the piano, ready to drop the bass.
"You mean the only one you know?" Levi drawled sarcastically.
"Well, I'm offended. If you're going to complain why don't you teach me a new one?" I retorted, turning my head to face him with a look that dared him to challenge this. This being my unbeatable self.
"It took a month to teach you one!!" My lip pouted and my ears drooped. "Don't give me that- ugh. I have an idea. Why don't you play your... Thingy and I play my piano."
I gasped. That was a FABULOUS idea. In a record 3.62 seconds, I went upstairs, grabbed my case, slid back downstairs, stole a sip of Jack Daniels(that sounds so weird), raced back into the room, and undid the golden clasps.
The lid softly creaked open, revealing my own personal baby- besides the one riding along in Levi's belly. Relishing (and mustarding) in the feel of the metal on my hands again, I pulled my trumpet from the velvet, the light reflecting off it and sending fragments of gold around the room.
"Do I need to give you two some privacy?" Levi's voice interrupted our heartfelt reunion, and I scoffed as I puffed air through, preparing to play.
"Oh, shh. You're just jealous. Now, follow my lead!" I demanded, beginning a piece we both knew very well.
"Don't I usually?" Levi winked at me, causing my cheeks to turn scarlet, and did so.
In my personal opinion, piano and trumpet are one of the best combinations of instrument to hear together. There's something about those deep and fanfare sounds mixing that make it irresistible.
Levi and I made our way through the song, stealing glances at each other every now and then. He was so cute~
As soon as the last note finished ringing, Levi turned around and spat,
"You messed up, idiot."
"What?? You're the one who was rushing me, jerk!" I retorted, putting my trumpet away angrily and turning to face him.
"At least I can play at a tempo faster than 70, dipwad." He flipped his hair, trying to look superior. But you can't be superior to Eren.
"You know what you are, Levi?" I asked, taking a step toward him with an accusatory point.
"What?? What am I?"
"A chicken nugget. You're a freaking chicken nugget."
"Oh yeah? You're a nitwit."
I advanced again.
"Midget!"
"Dumbass!"
"Dork!"
"Twat!"
I was practically on top of him now, getting in his face and glaring, saying, "You're a prat."
"You're perfect."
"So are you." I slammed my lips on his, bracing myself on the piano.
"Mm!" Levi groaned into my mouth, returning the kiss. It started slow and soft, our lips moving against each other in sync, then it grew more heated, our hands grabbing everywhere they could get to.
He pulled me closer by my shirt, not getting enough of me. As I slipped my tongue in to dance with his, I grabbed him and swung him up, causing him to gasp, out of breath.
His legs wrapped around my waist and I wound one hand into his hair, tugging and twirling the way I knew he liked it. Then I moved down to his neck, using my teeth to my advantage and biting down hard.
"E-Eren!" Levi let out a small whine, completely out of character and gripped me tightly. I couldn't get enough of him.
-One Hour Later-
"Eren?" Levi's voice murmured from above me, his hand slow and soft in my brown hair.
"Mm?" I answered from his bare chest, eyes closed in complete peace.
"....Do you think I'll make a good dad?" What! I sat up and looked into his worried eyes, leaning over him with an are-you-freaking-crazy look.
"First off, you're technically the mom. Second, you're going to be an amazing parent. Our baby gets a BA, French, hot, vampire daddy. What kid wouldn't be happy??"
I saw his worry melt away, replaced by a sheepish smile. "You always know just what to say, you brat." He pulled me back in roughly for a hug and a kiss on my head when I resumed my position on his chest, before he said,
"We should proooobably get up now."
"Nuh-uh." Was all I answered before burrowing into his abs.
"We've got things to do, babe."
"I'm tired."
"You just woke up!!" He exclaimed incredulously, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah, and then I had to go through the strain of getting pounded into at top speed by a certain someone."
"You didn't seem to be complaining. Or does 'Ah! Ah! Faster Levi!' Mean stop now?"
My face turned red and I got up and turned away from him, arms crossed. "S-Shut up."
"You're so cute~" Levi reached around me and kissed my scarlet cheeks before getting up and stretching, giving me glorious naked eye candy.
Deciding I should follow suit, I rolled off the couch- where we had somehow ended up, don't ask me- and went upstairs, locking the bedroom door.
What the heck does one wear on an anniversary?? Something hot? Cute? Grungy? What about festive? I have a few Christmas sweaters...
"Eren! It's my room, too, you know!" Levi's voice called from behind the door. "I need to get dressed."
"Me first!!!" I yelled, frantic as I looked at my closet. T-Shirts... Long sleeve.. Jeans... Jumpsuit.. Groundhog costume..
Aha!!!
Levi's POV
My foot tapped and my arms crossed as I waited impatiently for Eren to unlock the door. Finally, the door swung open and he leaned against the side of the doorframe.
He was dressed in dark black jeans and a teal, tight fitting t shirt. I just stared.
"W-What are you staring for? Don't you n-need the room or somethin..." A cherry Eren stuttered, looking to the side and trying to escape down the stairs, but before he could I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back, cupping his cheek and saying,
"You're stunning." I brought our lips together for a proper kiss, unlike what we were doing earlier. Then I let him go and went into the room to actually get some clothes on.
-Two Hours Later-
Eren's POV
"Levi, where the heck are we going?" I asked, walking along with him with my hands in my pockets. We had been strolling through a park just talking, but now we had long since been around people, only surrounded by woods and wildlife.
"Well if I told you, it would ruin the surprise." He had refused to give me any answers. Even though I loved surprises with my life, I wanted to stinking know!!!
"Agh!!" I kicked a rock angrily and it ROCKeted through the trees and out of sight. I eventually heard a big PLOP! And furrowed my eyebrows. Water?
My pace quickened as I went towards the sound curiously, Levi trailing behind. I came out of the trees to see a breathtaking river winding into the forest for what seemed like ever.
No signs of civilization were visible; the only thing you could see was the setting sun reflecting off the slowly coursing water and the surrounding greenery.
"Like it?" Levi asked as he walked up behind me, standing next to me to look out at the scene.
"I love it." I said completely truthfully, glancing over at him with a grin. "I can't wait to get in!!!"
I threw off my shirt and ran towards the bank, yelling, "CANNONBALL!!!!"
"No, Eren!!!" Levi ordered, pinning me back with incredible strength and laughing. "That's not your surprise, baby."
My eyebrows raised and I opened my mouth to ask what the heck it was, but he cut me off with a gesture of his eyes to my left.
I followed his gaze to see a wooden canoe tethered to the shore with water lapping at its dark brown sides.
A gasp left my mouth as Levi let me go and moved to retrieve my shirt. I ran over to the lil boat and carefully stepped into it, a smile growing on my cheeks.
"EEEE!!!! It's so CUTE!" I squealed, rocking it back and forth. "Can we ride it???"
"Of course we can, brat. That's what it's for."
We rode for hours, Levi rowing and facing backwards towards me. All we did was talk and gaze around at the beautiful scenery.
As the canoe floated lazily down the river I trailed my fingers through the water, loving the warmth of the setting sun on my tan skin.
"Levi, how did you know to do this? How did you pick the absolute perfect anniversary date?" I asked awestruck, glancing up at his sitting form.
"Because I know you." He answered simply, pushing us slowly forward towards a bank, the light fading, leaving the sky reddish-purple.
"You really do." I grinned, shaking my head. With a jolt, the canoe skidded onto the wet sand and I hopped up, stretching my legs and reaching my hand to help Levi and his massive stomach up.
"Thanks, babe. Now let's see.... Where did I put it...." Levi tapped his chin, spinning around in a circle and thinking deeply.
"What?? There's another surprise???"
~Time Skip~
I didn't think my heart could take very many more surprises, but seeing this next one proved me wrong.
I was led into a clearing surrounded half by tall evergreen trees and half by a cliff looking out over more forest. The moon was steadily rising in the star studded night sky, illuminating a black and white checkered blanket laying on the grass.
Candles flickered, casting light onto two wine glasses filled with a crimson liquid and mingling their scent with the evening air.
"EEEEE!!!! That is so freaking romantic!!!" I squealed again, ruining the romantic mood completely.
Levi just stood there blushing as I grabbed his hand and pulled him over to the display.
We both fell onto our backs, heads and hands touching as we gazed up at the sky.
Levi sighed, totally content. "I love being able to make you so happy."
"So.... You don't regret asking me to marry you?" I asked, only a little bit nervous.
"Hell no. I made you my bitch." Levi smirked, squeezing my hand.
"Good. I think." I looked over at him, and he returned my stare.
Just thinking back on how my life was before, I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have him. I didn't really see a point to what I was doing, there was nothing exciting to look forward to except a monotone life of school, more school, more school, a dull marriage, equally boring career, then eventual death. The same cycle everyone went through. And then I met Levi in that bar, and my whole world shifted. Actually, became him. Now I was the vampire who had a hot, smexy, very pregnant, also vampire husband. You can't beat that. And that was all thanks to Levi.
Levi's POV
Looking at Eren laying there in the moonlight, I was again shocked at how fortunate I was to be married to such a brat. Being an immortal vampire may sound cool and all, but if you're alone throughout that eternity with nothing you enjoy whatsoever, it's pretty shitty.
But when I went into that damn gay bar I met the love of my life- death?
Now I have someone to share eternity with, and another one on the way. That was all thanks to Eren.
Eren and Levi's POV
I just had one thing I could say, looking at him, and apparently he had the same idea.
"I love you."
A/N- I've been counting down. And now. The last chapter. Next chapter is the last. That's it. Then it's done. Omg.
