chapter six.

neibolt house

Adelaide dropped her bike at Bill's house. The whole losers club was determined to get to the bottom at was going on. They entered his garage, where he started to hangup a poster of Derry's sewer lines. Eddie turned on the projector and Mike shut the garage.

The rest of the losers began to gather around the projector as Bill put the first thing in. It was old Derry and it projected onto the poster.

"Okay..." Bill mumbled to himself as Adelaide sat down beside him. "Look. T-That's where
G-G-Georgie disappeared. There's the ironworks. And the black spot. Everywhere it happens, it's all connected by the sewers. And they all meet up at the-"

"The well house," Ben interrupted. The group stared at the spot marked on the poster that said Well House.

"It's in the house on Neibolt Street," Stanley explained.

"You mean that creepy-ass house where all the junkies and hobos like to sleep?" Richie asked.

"That's exactly what he means," Adelaide said, looking over at Richie, who's eyes had shifted to a gasping Eddie, who was using his inhaler.

"I hate that place," Beverly said. "It always feels like it's watching me."

"That's where I saw it..." Eddie mumbled through his gasps. "That's where I saw the clown."

"T-that's where It lives," Bill said quietly. Eddie again inhaled his inhaler, covering his mouth.

Stanley shook his head. "I can't imagine anything ever wanting to live there," he said.

Eddie stood up quickly. "Can we stop talking about this?" He asked. "I-I-I can barely breathe, this is summer. We're kids. I can barely breath, I'm up here having a fucking asthma attack! And I'm not doing this!" Eddie began to rip the poster off the wall:

"What the hell!" Bill yelled. "Put the map back!"

Eddie shook his head. "No."

The projector began to click and they stared at it. "The hell?" Adelaide mumbled. The projector projected pictures of Bill's family on the wall.

"What happened?" Bill asked.

"What's going on?" Stanley asked.

Mike sighed as Eddie stepped back, closer to the group. "I got it. Hold on." He said. Mike began to try and fix it, but nothing happened. "Guys."

It stopped on one picture and began to zoom into Georgie's face. "Georgie," Bill said.

As the projector kept zooming in, Stanley looked up at Bill. "Bill?"

The clicking noise became more rapid, as the picture began to zoom up to Bill's mom. The hair covering her face until it started to move... to reveal the clown.

The group let out trembling breaths. "What the fuck!" Richie yelled.

"It's It!" Bill yelled.

Adelaide stood up and she felt someone grip her arm... Bill held onto her protectively. "What the fuck is that?" Richie yelled. "What the fuck is that!"

"I don't fucking know!" Eddie yelled as him and Richie grabbed ahold of one another.

"Turn it off!" Beverly yelled suddenly. "Turn it off!"

"Yeah! Yeah. Turn it off," Richie repeated. "Turn it off!"

Mike just quickly kicked the projector down, it slammed against the garage floor. It continued to project on the wall, until it started flashing. They all stared with loud breaths until the clown disappeared. Eddie was wheezing when suddenly the clown popped out, it was laughing hysterically.

"Run!" Richie yelled. "Stanley!" Stanley ran over to them as they all screamed. The huge clown began to crawl towards them.

"What is it?" Eddie yelled as he backed into Bill, knocking both of them down and Adelaide in the process.

"What the fuck!" Richie screamed.

"Shit!" Adelaide gasped, staring at the clown. They all continued to let our horrifying screams, until finally the garage opened, letting light in.

Beverly stood up as she was curled in the corner and walked over to Ben. "Thanks Ben." She said before turning to hug Bill. Mike helped Adelaide off the ground and she just stared at him.

"It saw us," Eddie said. "It saw us and it knows where we are!"

"It always did," Bill said. "So let's go."

Bill began to walk out of the garage before turning to look at them. None of them were moving. "Go?" Ben questioned. "Go where?"

"Neibolt," Bill said. "That's where G-G-Georgie is."

"After that?" Stanley questioned.

"Yeah it's summer. We should be outside," Richie mumbled.

Bill stared at Richie. "If you say it's summer once more f-f-fucking time..." Bill breathed heavily before turning around and getting on his bike.

"Bill!" Adelaide yelled as he began to ride off. "Stop it! Don't leave!"

"Wait!" Beverly yelled.

Bill rode out of sight so the rest of them hopped on there bikes and went in the direction of Neibolt house.

When they arrived Bill was slowly approaching the front door. "Bill!" Beverly yelled, dropping her Bike and walking a few steps towards him. "Bill, you can't go in there! This is crazy!"

The rest of the losers walked towards him, behind Beverly. "Look you don't have to come in with me. But what happens when another Georgie goes missing? Or another Betty? Or another Ed Corcoran? Or one of us?" Bill asked. "Are you just gonna pretend it isn't happening, like everyone else in this town? Because I can't. I go home, and all I see is that Georgie isn't there. His clothes, his toys, his stupid stuffed animals, but he isn't. So walking into this house, for me, it's easier than walking into my own."

Bill turned towards the front door and Richie sighed. "Wow."

"What?" Adelaide asked.

"He didn't stutter once," Richie said. Richie looked at Adelaide and the two of them took a few steps towards the front door, before the rest of them followed.

Stanley sighed. "Wait!" He yelled. They all stopped, including Bill, to turn and look at him. "Um... shouldn't we have some people keep watch? You know, just incase something bad happens?"

Bill kept his hand in the door knob. "W-w-who wants to stay out here?" Bill asked. They all raised their hands besides the two girls who just looked around. Richie turned around.

"Fuck," Richie said. Eddie, Bill, Richie, and Adelaide went inside. Due to drawing the short straws. The door creaked as it opened. "I can't believe I pulled the shirt straw. You guys are lucky you're not measuring dicks."

"Shut up, Richie," Adelaide mumbled quietly. The four of them carefully started looking around, staying near each other.

"I can smell it..." Eddie said.

"Don't breathe through your mouth," Richie said.

"How come?" Eddie asked.

"Because then you're eating it," he said. Eddie gagged and began to unzip his fanny pack, using his inhaler. Richie walked a few steps and pulled a paper down, he stared at it. Eddie, Bill and Adelaide looked up at him, before slowly walking over to him.

"What?" Bill asked.

Richie gulped. "It... It says I'm missing," Richie said.

"You're not missing Richie," Bill told him.

"Yeah, you're right here," Adelaide pointed out.

Richie looked at them. "Police Department City of Derry," he began to read. Eddie covered his mouth. "That's my shirt. That's my hair. That's my face."

"Calm down! This isn't real!" Bill yelled.

"That's my name! That's my age! That's the date!" Richie yelled, panic growing quickly in his voice. "No, it says it! What the fuck? Am I missing? Am I gonna go missing."

Adelaide grabbed ahold of his wrists. "Calm down Richie," she said carefully. "Calm down."

"What the fuck!" Richie yelled.

"Look at me," Adelaide said calmly. "That isn't really, like Bill said."

"It's playing tricks on you," Bill told him.

"Hello?" A random voice said. "Hello? Help me please!"

The four of them slowly walked towards the stairs. "What the hell..." Adelaide mumbled as they began to walk up them.

Gasping noises could be heard, they walked as quiet as they could, rats squeaking in the background. Bill and Richie walked in front as Eddie and Adelaide were behind them. They stopped, seeing a girl choking and gasping. "Betty?" Bill questioned.

"Ripsom?" Richie finished. She was dragged away with a loud scream, the four of them jumped. They were breathing shakily as they began to walk in the direction she was. Eddie stopped which made Adelaide stop as well. Bill and Richie kept walking.

"Guys, can you hear that?" Eddie asked.

"What?" Adelaide asked, seeing in her vision the other boys still walking. Eddie's breathing started to go unsteady and Adelaide met his eyes. "Eddie, what is it?"

He began to unzip his fanny pack and pull his inhaler out as he used it. "Guys..." Eddie said quietly, Adelaide's eyes still on him. "Oh, my god."

Eddie and Adelaide quickly turned around hearing the door creak, it was shutting. "Shit!" Adelaide said.

"Guys. Guys!" Eddie yelled as the two made a run for the door, but it slammed shut.

"What?" Bill questioned. "Eddie! Ads!"

"What the fuck!" Eddie yelled as the two of ran, but stopped as the floor opened up, Eddie was in front of her. Adelaide stared down into the hole.

Eddie was panting heavily when suddenly he fell backwards into Adelaide, the two tumbling down. Eddie slammed through a table and Adelaide fell to the side of him, cutting her left eyebrow in the process. Eddie's alarm for his pills went off, he sat up a bit before passing out.

Adelaide crawled over to Eddie, shaking him gently. His arm was broken, she could tell. "Eddie! Wake up!" She said, quietly. "Eddie!"

It took him a few seconds before he sat up quickly in a pant. "Addie..." he mumbled, looking at her, looking down at his arm, wincing.

"It's broken," Adelaide informed him, looking up at him. Tapping could be heard suddenly and the two looked up. The fridge opened and laughing could be heard. Eddie whimpered in fear as Pennywise climbed out.

Adelaide quickly pushed herself up, staring at the clown. "Time to float," Pennywise said. It made its way towards them and Adelaide stepped backwards as Eddie crawled back. Eddie was still whimpering and Pennywise began to mock him. Adelaide backed herself into a corner but Pennywise kept going after Eddie. Eddie soon backed into a wall and Pennywise grabbed ahold of his wrist.

For a few moments the clown mocked him, pretending he was gonna bite his hand. Eddie just cried loudly and Adelaide watched with fear. Pennywise laughed as he grabbed ahold of Eddie's face.

"Tasty, tasty, beautiful fear," Pennywise said, grinning at Eddie who continues to whimper. Pennywise began to open his mouth and go towards Eddie, until the door could be heard opening upstairs.

"No, no!" Eddie yelled.

"Help!" Eddie yelled loudly.

"Fuck! Please!" Adelaide said, watching the clown.

Richie and Bill burst into the room. "Eddie!" Richie yelled.

"Addie!" Bill yelled.

The clown turned around, one hand on Eddie's face.

"Holy fuck..." Richie mumbled. "Eddie!"

"This isn't real enough for you, Billy?" Pennywise asked. "I'm not real enough for you?"

"Oh shit..." Richie mumbled.

"It was real enough for Georgie," Pennywise said, fake crying, before laughing maniacally.

It stood up and leaped towards the two boys. "Holy shit!" Richie yelled, but before it could to them, Beverly stopped it by inserting a pole into its head. The rest of the losers rushed inside, staring at the clown with fear.

The clown began to wail loudly. "Get Eddie!" Richie yelled as him and Beverly rushed over to him, Richie pushing Beverly out of the way. Bill rushed over and kneeled next to the other side of Richie.

"Oh fuck! We gotta get out of here!" Eddie screamed.

Adelaide carefully walked over by Ben, Mike and Stan, staring at the clown. The boys continued to scream. The clown turned around with a deep growl.

"Get Eddie! Lets go!" Bill yelled.

"Guys, watch out!" Richie yelled.

"No, no, no, no!" Eddie yelled.

"Eddie look at me!" Richie said in a panic.

"He's gonna get us! Guys!" Eddie screamed. "No!"

The clown screamed and they all flinched again, more laughing coming out. The clown whipped around, cutting Ben's stomach open. "Ben!" Bill shouted.

Mike grabbed ahold of Ben. "Ben!" Richie yelled. "Let's get out of here!"

"Don't let him get away," Bill said, standing up and following the clown. They all began to yell at Bill.

"Bill! We have to help Eddie!" Beverly yelled.

Bill returned a few moments later and him, Richie, and Beverly crowded around Eddie. "Im gonna snap your arm into place!" Richie told him.

"Rich, do not fucking touch me!" Eddie yelled.

"Okay, one, two, three," Richie said, ignoring Eddie's screamed and snapped his arm. Which made Eddie scream louder.

The group ran out of the house, some yelling and some panting.

Eddie's mother showed up soon. "You. You did this," she accused, pulling Eddie to her side. "You know how delicate he is."

"We were attacked M-M-Mrs. K," Bill tried to explain, shoving Eddie towards the car.

"No, don't," she said. "Don't try and blame anyone else."

She slammed the door to the passenger side shut, as Eddie was inside now. She fumbled with her keys, which she ended up dropping. "Let me help," Beverly said, bending down to get the keys.

"No! Back!" she snapped, grabbing her keys herself. "Oh, I've heard of you, Miss Marsh. And I don't want a dirty girl like you touching my son."

"Mrs. K I-I-I," Bill stuttered.

"No!" she snapped, turning around and pointing fingers. "You are all monsters. All of you! And Eddie is done with you. Do you hear? Done!" She stomped over and got in the drivers seat as the rest of the losers watched.  They slowly walked out into the road to watch them drive away.

Bill turned around. "I saw the well," he said. "W-W-We know where it is and- and next time we'll be better prepared."

"No!" Stanley snapped. "No next time, Bill! You're insane!"

"Why?" Beverly asked. "We all know no one else is going to do anything."

"Eddie was nearly killed!" Richie yelled. "And look at this motherfucker. He's leaking Hamburger Helper!"

"We can't pretend it's gonna go away!" Beverly defended. Ben you said it yourself, It comes back every 27 years!"

Adelaide wiped the blood off her eyebrow, getting a worrisome glance from Bill. Ben stared at her. "Fine! I'll be 40 and far away from here," Ben said. "I thought you said you wanted to get out of this town, too."

"Because I wanna run towards something," Beverly explained. "Not away."

"I'm sorry," Richie said, "who invited Molly Ringwald into the group?"

Beverly raised a middle finger to show Richie. "Richie..." Adelaide said quietly.

Richie looked at her. "I'm just saying, let's face facts, real world." He said. "Georgie is dead. Stop trying to get us killed, too."

Richie took one step towards Bill and he stepped towards him as wells "Georgie's not dead," he said.

"You couldn't save him but you can still save yourself," Richie told him.

Richie tried to walk away but Bill stepped in front of him. "No! T-T-take it back," he said. "You're scared and we all are, but take it back!" Bill shoved Richie away from him.

Richie shoved Bill back, with force. Bill grabbed ahold of Richie and punched him in the face. "Bill!" Adelaide yelled. Richie fell to the ground.

Mike and Stanley held Richie back as he stood up. "You're just a bunch of losers!" Richie yelled. "Fuck off!"

"Richie! Stop!" Stanley yelled.

Ben grabbed ahold of Bill to stop them from fighting and the two girls just watched. "You're just a bunch of losers and you'll get yourselves killed," Richie told them, "trying to catch a fucking stupid clown."

The boys struggled to keep Bill and Richie away from each other so Beverly shoved them both away from one another. "Stop!"

"Guys cmon!" Adelaide yelled, standing beside Beverly.

They finally calmed down and Richie shoved the two boys off of him. "This is what It wants," Beverly said. "It wants to divide us! We were all together when we hurt It! That's why we're still alive!"

"Yeah?" Richie questioned. "Well, I plan to keep it that way." He said as he walked away, running into Bill's shoulder. Stanley and Ben followed and Bill stared at them all. Mike started to walk away and Beverly sighed.

"Mike," she said.

"Guys... I can't do this," he said. "My granddad was right. I'm an outsider. Gotta stay that way."

Adelaide sighed and looked at Bill. "Addie, please."

Adelaide shook her head. "I'm sorry Bill, but they're right," she said before walking away and picking her bike up.

They were separated for the rest of the summer, until August. They did they're own thing, and for Adelaide this consisted of spending time with her brother, drawing like she usually did. No Losers Club.
