Chapter Twenty-Nine

[Warning- Verbal abuse]

Jimin stares at Jungkook who was currently walking around a zoo with Taehyung. He is following Jungkook as protection on the two's friendly outing. Jimin knows Taehyung likes Jungkook. And he also knows that Jungkook only sees Taehyung as a friend.

And I hope that it stays that way.

Jimin lets out a sigh. He is being selfish again. He keeps forgetting that he is dead. And he can't live with Jungkook. He can't ruin Jungkook's life.

He is pulled out of his thoughts when he hears Jungkook laughing at something Taehyung said about the koala.

Koalas are not funny, Jimin scoffed.

"You can never really stop being jealous, can you?" The voice speaks. Jimin rolls his eyes.

"Yeah. I try though but seeing my J--"

"He is not yours. Jeongguk is yours. Jungkook is not," The voice lied.

[A/N: On a note, Jeongguk is pronounced as Jeon-gguk, and Jungkook is just pronounced as Jungkook. I hope you understood lol]

"Shut up!" Jimin grumbled. "Jungkook loves me!" He exclaimed with a glare.

"And look where your love brought him."

"I-I will protect him!" Jimin argued.

"Have you realized something, Park Jimin?"

"What?"

"You moved on from Jeongguk."

"What the fuck?! What do you mean by that?!" Jimin stares at Jungkook with wide eyes.

"Even if Jeongguk reincarnated as Jungkook, both of them are two different beings. Jungkook can't kill even if a person did harmful things to him. And you know about your dead husband. He is the complete opposite. Both have completely different personalities. And you know what? You fell in love with this college nerd," The voice calmly answered.

"Jungkook is Jeongguk! That's why I like him!" Jimin exclaimed angrily. "I love both of them. I-I mean, they both are the same!"

"Tell that to yourself."

"Look, I haven't moved on. I love Jeongguk still and this Jungkook is that Jeongguk. A-and..."

"You are blabbering, Jiminie."

Jungkook smiles up at Taehyung who is walking over to him with the tray of food in hand. "You know exactly what I like," He said to be polite making Taehyung proudly grin.

"Of course! I gotta be your ideal boyfriend right? So, I do everything I can to impress you," Taehyung replied happily as he settled in front of Jungkook who was surprised by his words.

"Y-you want to be my ideal boyfriend?" Jungkook looks around quickly but he couldn't find Jimin anywhere.

But Jimin was there.

He was watching everything from the ceiling, hanging on the immobile fan. Confused about whether he is spiderman or a ghost?

"Yeah. Why are you asking? You think I won't be able to pass your ideal boyfriend test?" Taehyung did grow confident. After he heard Lucy call him Jungkook's boyfriend and Jungkook not rejecting, he immediately latched onto the idea that Jungkook likes him back. So, why not flirt with someone who obviously likes him?

"I-I t-think y-you got the wrong idea, Taehyung," Jungkook awkwardly expressed.
He scratched the back of his head, smiling a little to not seem rude. He didn't want to hurt Taehyung. He genuinely wanted to be the boy's friend.

"What do you mean, Jungkook? Y-you don't like me?" Taehyung questioned in confusion.

"Of course he doesn't," Jimin muttered.

"I-I like you, Taehyung. But as a friend. I am s-so sorry." Taehyung feels like he was punched in the face. The boy who he openly flirted with, thinking he likes him back just friend-zoned him. Taehyung knows it wasn't Jungkook's fault but his very own. Jungkook never gave him any signal of attraction. He chatted with him as a friend.

Jungkook abruptly stands up, placing a handful of money that he had already picked up from his wallet, and rushes out. He can't believe he hurt his first friend. He believed he lead Taehyung on but that's not the truth. He only saw Taehyung as a friend and talked with him like a friend.

He never did anything flirty.

How can he flirt with Taehyung when he is already in love with Jimin?

Jungkook runs down the busy street, not noticing that he ran in the wrong direction.

Meanwhile, Taehyung quickly pays for the bill and scurries after Jungkook to catch him and apologize. He hopes Jungkook still wants to be his friend.

Taehyung panted as he followed after Jungkook.

"Jungkook!! Please stop!" He called loudly. He was getting weird looks from passing strangers but he could care less about them. After running for a while, he finally caught up with Jungkook near a ice cream shop. He grabbed Jungkook's wrist, the boy yelping as he turned around. "I am sorry, Jungkook. Nothing that happened right now is your fault. I-I just like you but I can forget about my feelings. We can just be friends," Taehyung expressed with a smile.

Before Jungkook could speak, a man stalks forward and strikes a bat atop Taehyung's head. Jungkook's eyes widen in shock, Taehyung's yell echoing in his ears, his head throbbing. He can't run. He can't leave Taehyung right now. He couldn't think at all. He couldn't react at all when the man slams him down on the road, kicking his abdomen.

Jungkook moaned in pain and curls up on the road, hugging his stomach. "Pleas--"

Jin walks out of the ice cream shop with a cone of chocolate ice cream. He smiled. "Want some, Jungkook-ah?"

Jungkook stares at him, vision blurry from the forming tears. "Please leave me alone," He begged.

"Leave you alone?" Jin asked, Jungkook nodding in reply. "But what if you kill yourself when I leave you alone?"

"W-why would I-I do th--"

"Why wouldn't you do that? I mean, there are more chances of Jungkook killing himself than this ice cream melting away. Right guys?" Jin smiled as his men nodded, laughing to mock Jungkook who sobbed.

"I-I won't ki--"

"You won't, Kookie. I'm just saying there are more chances of that happening," Jin reassured with a sinister smirk. "Get him in the car. Kill whoever saw this. And kill his friend t--"

"NO! NOT HIM!" Jungkook crawls towards Taehyung protectively, not wanting Taehyung hurt. Not when the boy just confessed to liking him!

"Oh, I see what's going on. I disturbed your date. I'm sorry, Kookie. I had to do that. If I want to date, then your date must be cancelled." Jin shakes his head in fake worry.

"YOU WANT TO DATE A FUCKING GHOST!!"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Jin yelled, losing his calm and slamming his boot down on Jungkook's hand. The boy's loud screams wasn't the only thing loud there. Jungkook could hear it.

He could hear Jimin's loud screams for help.

Jimin wanted the voice to do something, help him because he couldn't do anything.

He failed to protect Jungkook.

He is the reason Jungkook is in the situation.

Jimin cried out as he laid there next to Jungkook, just like when he cried that day on his wedding day...and also his death anniversary.

Jimin cried.
