The title of the story is aesthetic and unique, I must say; one doesn't get the immediate perception of what the author wants to convey through the story.

At the beginning, the story has a very beautifully written description which is broad and narrative, as if a story teller is reciting it.

The cover is beautiful. The presentation is decent and a thumbs up from me. There is nothing extraordinary, nothing decorative, the author has put forward a very simple and minimalist presentation which is good.

The plot of the story has been nicely portrayed in the description. Gentle Flame is the story of a Princess who goes on to fight wars and finds comfort in serving her motherland. Later she faces several setbacks which further shapes her.

Set in an ancient, fictional era, in a fictional land, the story recounts the journey if the protagonist Xu. The setting matches perfectly with the plot. Every information is detailed which makes one appreciate the endeavor of the writer.

The writer focuses essentially on the princess throughout the story and hence her character has been nicely developed. The assisting character of her father, the Emperor is made very potential and dominant and at the same time, soft for his dear one.

The language is lucid which healps readers to easily connect to the story. I must say that there are fewer grammatical mistakes. The chapters are long and nicely revised, good enough to keep up a reader's interest.

Overall, Gentle Flame is a very nice period drama which is worth a try.
