BLOODY FEAST

CHAPTER 05 ──

───

The swear...

It was Korean...

He was saved.

Seokjin sat on a chair in the open space of the palace's garden. A table rest in front of him as he silently looks down doing nothing but having his palms over his thighs as he rubs them in worry.

This was really ancient Egypt, since there were numerous dancers dancing around him wanting him to look at them. There was a fireplace in an area that lit up the starry night. He could see the moon high above mocking him because of his fate.

The food had just been kept over the tables, when he was told he'll have to be there earlier than the pharaoh. He looked innocent albeit the truth was, he wasn't. His eyes were down trying to avoid all the ladies who wore revealing clothes merely for the night.

This is called feast?

He couldn't digest the fact that there were numerous eyes on him. People that were trying to appear as if they didn't care who he was, when they did. There was no one else except some men that stood on guard over the entrance that he had entered from in the garden and some dancers that were in all of his directions. They did the cultural ancient Egyptian dance while swaying their bodies. They're sexy as heck but he did his best to be respectful and innocent for his non-existent crush. A fact he realized was she didn't exist in this time. He sighs thinking about it.

The man who he had swore on earlier stood beside him with his hands behind his back and chest heaved up.

Seokjin turns to his direction squinting his eyes unconsciously because of the slow winds passing by, "What's your name?" He had his hand over the table as he waited for the guy's reply.

"I am Bes, sire." Okay. That was Bes bowing in front of him while introducing himself near the table.

Seokjin unknowingly points to the entrance's direction as he turns back to the man, "You like her too. Don't you?" His index is still pointed as he bends curling his lips in a mischievous smirk.

The man's lip shakes terribly, "Y-Yes? Who?"

Seokjin pats his back wearing a satisfied smile over his face after seeing his reaction, "The pharaoh~" He says in a singing voice. The man in front of him unwittingly removes his hand from his abdomen that he had kept for bowing in front of Seokjin, "Say it. I'll keep it a secret." He winks waiting for Bes to say it already.

"NO!" Bes shouts catching his off guard. A few men look towards their direction.

Seokjin ignored them leaning in beside him, "They say liars go to hell especially when they lie about their pharaoh." The man is reluctant for sure.

"I-I-" He hesitates and Seokjin's smirk widens as he confirms his thoughts pointing his finger at him and winking as well.

"I was right." He turns to the direction of his food that he hasn't touched waiting for the femme fatale to arrive already.

His hand touches a plate in thought, "Who wouldn't like her?" He mutters to himself. To begun with, Egyptian women were beautiful and she was the most enchanting of them all. Why wouldn't a man fall for her? If every man around him was in love with the enchantress, he wouldn't be surprised by the reality he's known. The aura she gave was everything. He could write a whole hundred pages of how amazing her aura was and how she scares people, but at the same time, makes them fall in love with her.

Seokjin shakes his head. He shouldn't think about her all the time. It isn't good for himself.

"BOW TO OUR PHARAOH!" He inadvertently falls to the ground in a bow than immediately looks up as to what he did. Looking around, he rises pretending as if nothing happened and sits back on his seat. Bes stares at him in shock.

"Act like you didn't see anything." Seokjin arrogantly says and the man rapidly nods bowing and still gawking at his figure.

She hasn't entered the place but she was going to. The men were in a hurry announcing it before she'd enter.

Seokjin looks up seeing her figure currently standing there after some time. There were three men around her for her safety as she walks forward wearing a straight face.

Can she even smile?

He didn't think so. Her smiling would be an attack to humanity but it seemed like even if an earthquake occurs, she wouldn't smile. She walks forward with her hands over her abdomen which was etiquette. Her leg still slips out.

Holy crap.

His gaze lingers on the dress's split part. If he can, he'd tape the dress up so her skin won't be revealed from any direction. He'll just use a large cloth to wrap it around her face, legs, every part of her body. He'll do it in his dreams since she'll kill him if he did that in reality.

A guy hurriedly pulls the chair for her so she sits down. Seokjin could bet three hundred dollars that the man had hearts in his eyes.

She sits down on the chair not even sparing a glance to the guy as she pulls her head high up. Seokjin's gaze was stuck over her crown—or was it just a headpiece? He didn't exactly know how Egyptian crowns looked like. Even if he did, he had forgotten the structure after seeing them in a museum five years ago.

Her short hair that reached till her shoulders was attractive. He didn't know why. The beads hanging at the ends made him smile for an unknown reason.

There were several fresh fruits kept in front of him. Does he have to live on this? He didn't even care. Coz before coming here, he'd been living on food from outside. He'd visit his mother once in a while so she'd make him amazing dishes. Now he missed her. He took it for granted. Other than that, restaurants were the place, he had his breakfast, lunch and dinner.

But fruits? Like really man?

Fine. He can do this.

"So how's the Roman Empire been, Kim?" He looks away trying to not cough since he was choking on air inside. It was deemed disrespectful to do that especially in front of a pharaoh.

Her eyes are down. She picks up different fruits keeping them in her plate silently. She seemed nonchalant.

"G-reat." He stutters.

WHY DID HE FREAKING STUTTER? FOR GOD'S SAKE, KIM SEOKJIN—

She gestures the dancers with her fingers to stop dancing and walk away. Her gaze is still down as she slowly looks up after they were gone.

Why did she tell them to go away? Is it finally the day he dies? God save him.

His heart was beating so loudly in his chest, he could hear his beating in his ears. His wide gaze was stuck on her. He immediately looks down after seeing she was going to look up.

He felt more anxious than ever. Will he die now? His overthinking should be stopped.

"I have heard the Roman Empire has many great dishes in there. Do these not match your taste?" He could feel her gaze on him, observing him openly.

Bes is beside looking down and doing nothing but standing there. He can't do anything too.

"They do." He looks up confidently killing all his anxiety away in his mind. His hand mysteriously grips the edge of the table to keep himself together.

"In fact, I am genuinely curious about what type of dishes they have." She was lying. He knew, she was. How will an Egyptian queen not know what the Roman Empire eats? She's a queen. She'd have once visited there or tried it in her own palace.

Frickity frack.

He's done.

Bloody feast.

"What do you say, Kim?"

[ A/N: seokjin is using the alternative to bloody hell as bloody feast since it matches his situation! ]
