Fred Weasley was gone. Sooner than people expected, sooner than he, himself expected. Or so they thought.

It was a brief second mistake that George was mistaken as Fred and named dead. Fred, meanwhile, was too sad to admit he was not George. They thought Fred was gone anyway...

So the secret was born and it was known only by a couple of people.

However, even if George admired his brother's choice, even as a ghost he wasn't a man that said no to jokes. Even if by then he was supposed to learn that some jokes are taken seriously by people or in his case, ghosts.

"I wonder who I supposed to marry, you know if I was alive."

He did not think that a simple sentence that was said as a joke would cause him to open his eyes in Hogwarts Castle, as a ghost. And he did not expect his supposed-to-be significant other was a Seventh Year Ravenclaw, Joni Morrison, who was devastated in the war and needed a bit of fun in her life.
