003. pork rind-muching freak

pork rind-munching freak / chapter three

IF THERE WAS ONE PERSON in the world that loved pork rinds more than their own family, it was Kai Parker. In the last word he lived in, there was an abundance of pork rinds to choose from, keeping in mind he was the only one there — at least for the most part.

But in this new world he had been living in for almost the same amount as the girl, he soon realized that something wasn't right. Not just because the pork rinds would sell out in every store but for other reasons. Yes, the world was a clone of his past one, but he was living in the present again, and with actual living people he could feed on.

The question was why and how that was possible when the supernatural didn't exist there. At least that's what Kai thought until he came across the girl.

She was the key to all of his questions.

"Pork rinds?" Kai offered the smelly bag to Nabila, whose distasteful head shake was enough for him to pull them away. "Wow, you really are a monster."

"Is this your place?" Nabila asked as she gave herself a tour around. She was thrown off when he took her by a upscale neighborhood, and even more when he opened the door to one of the biggest mansions in Encino Hills. She tried not to be judgy, but he barely looked like he was making a living with the clothes he was wearing, let alone afford a house that big.

"Something like that." He replied with half his mouth full. "Don't ask for the deets."

"Noted."

"So, Nabila," He began once he finished munching on the bag.

"How did you-"

"Let's just say a little birdie told me." He smiled. Something about his smile scared her.

"Let's just say I kill that 'little birdie' if you don't tell me." She returned his vibe, not knowing how he would react.

"Oh, wow. You really are Niklaus' daughter." He chuckled, glancing over at Nabila with an intimidating look.

"What-"

"Don't look so surprised. You're practically his twin." He cut in again, as he got up the fancy couch to grab another bag of pork rinds.

"I have to go back home. They're probably sick worried. Can you take me?"

"Can I take you?" He laughed at her question as if it were a joke. "Haven't you realized there is no home? We're stuck in this lame world, that apparently doesn't have enough pork rinds."

Just hearing him talk made Nabila wonder if he was a runaway mental patient. "What are you talking about?

"I'm talking about you and me. We're in another dimension. How? Don't know."

"How do I know you're telling the truth?"

He sighed before answering. "Think of it like this. You've been missing for what, almost an entire day? And somehow you're still here, in California. You have supernatural friends and family, I'm talking vampires, werewolves, witches, who all care about you. Where are they? Why haven't they found you yet? I'll tell you why, because we're not in their world."

Nabila thought about what he was saying, and she found it easier to believe him than not to. Everything he said made no sense but at the same time it did.

"Are you a..." She began, not wanting to say what she really wanted to.

"Vampire?" He whispered dramatically, like it was a bad word to say.

Nabila tapped her foot impatiently. "Well? Are you?!"

He grabbed his chin and pretended he was thinking hard about his answer. "Hmm, am I a big bad vampire?"

She rolled her eyes before throwing him one of the couch pillows. "I'm being serious."

"Hey! My pork rinds! Those were my last ones." He complained as he saw the bag scatter all over the floor and the couch. "You're cleaning that up missy."

"I'm not cleaning anything up until you tell me who and what you are." She demanded, crossing her arms.

"Ughh!" He threw his head on the back of the couch and kicked his feet like a child. "If I'd known you'd be a pain in my behind, I would have let the driver turn you into my meal."

"Aha!" She pointed the fingers at him. "So you are a vampire."

"That and other... stuff."

"What?"

"I'm a vamp-witch. Keep up." He murmured while he tried to eat up the pieces next to him.

"How-"

"How is that possible?" He finished her question, then answering it. "Because I'm badass? I dunno."

"Then that means-"

"You may or may not become like me." He spoke for her. "If, you choose to feed anyways."

'If you choose to feed'

She thought carefully of those words, and what it meant. She needed to hurt someone, and she didn't want to do that. But if she didn't, then that would mean she would die for real this time. There was no coming back.

"I can't feed on an innocent person." She shook her head repeatedly. "I can't be that selfish."

"Ughh. Here you go again being boring. And here I thought you were a Mikaelson."

"Just because I have Mikaelson as a last name doesn't mean I'm a murderer like them."

"Damn, that's deep kid." He pretended to be touched by her words, only breaking his character a second later. "Anyways, we're running on a clock... so, let's go hunting for your meal."

"Did you not just hear me? I said-"

"Yea, I know what you said. But listen, I tried to be the good guy here and let me just tell ya, clearly not my thing." He chuckled, putting his hands on his face. "So, here's what we're gonna do, I'm gonna go get you some blood while you wait here patiently, and when I come back, you're gonna drink it like the good girl you are, okay? Good."

"Okay." She tried to remain calm even though she was freaking out on the inside. He was clearly out of his mind and playing along his sick game was her easiest way out. "I'm just going to use the restroom."

Without so much as a step she could take, Kai had already taken the liberty to block the girl in front of her with his speed. "Don't think so, sister."

"What?! Do you want me to pee myself?"

"And here I thought you were smarter than that. You're dead, remember? Dead people can't pee or, go number two!" He said, almost sounding disappointed when he grabbed her arm to cuff her to a metal arm.

"What the hell?! You can't force me to stay here. I have free will." She yelled out as he walked out the door.

"Blah, blah, blah. You'll thank me later!"

"HMM... SO MANY to choose from." He furrowed his eyebrows, thinking about the group of teens that were stealing from a convenience store.

"Any of you kids happen to have O negative running in your body?" He asked them, not seeming phased that they were caught.

"What the hell weirdo. Nah we don't. So you can leave us-"

Rather than letting the boy with the idiotic colored mohawk talk, he sewed his mouth with the flick of his hand.

"Wrong answer." He shook his head. "Anyone else?"

An straightaway, they backed away in fright.

We don't want any trouble." A girl with blonde hair spoke out. Kai thought she was the one to pick, not because she was the only girl, but because she was the only one with the guts to speak up.

"You're coming home with me." Kai grinned as he began to pull her towards him with the magic in his hand. "I have a friend that's waiting for you."

"Guys, help!" She screamed, but her so called friends ran the other way as soon as they could. "You can't just leave me here with this freak!"

"What friends you have." He scoffed. "Want me to kill them?" But the blonde girl's only response was looking at him in disturbance.

THE WITCHES OF THE MIKAELSON HOME had to come up with a well thought plan by the end of the night — and it was midnight already.

"There's something wrong." Freya told the others, her heart beating out of her chest . "I can feel it."

"What's wrong?!" Hope asked worriedly.

"Well? Don't just stand there and say nothing, sister. What is it?!" Klaus demanded an answer.

"Is it my daughter?" Hayley questioned.

"She's with Malachai." She finally spoke, her words leaving the rest confused.

"Malachai?" Elijah asked.

"Malachai Parker." Klaus answered, not realizing his eyes were glowing while his veins popped. "I'm going to kill him."

"That's not all." Freya confessed, taking a deep breathe. "She's transitioning."

"No, no, no." Hayley covered her mouth and fell to the ground, being caught by Elijah's arms.

"You're telling me my daughter is dead?"

"Yes. I'm sorry Klaus."

"She can't be a vampire." Hope laughed nervously. "She'll die. We all know she'll die."

"I'm afraid she doesn't have much time left either."

NABILA MIKAELSON WAS TIRED. The cold floor she was laying on was proof of that. Her twenty four hours were nearly over, and she felt weaker every second that passed. She was so desperate, that she swore that if Kai walked in with a human blood bag, she would take it.

"Winner, winner. Chicken dinner!" Kai opened the door holding no other than a human blood bag.

"Oh, no. You're not dying today." Kai spat, only laughing a second later. "Get it, because you're already dead."

"Why can't I move?!" The blonde girl whimpered, her position the same as Kai left her. She looked calm, but her eyes full of fear. "Help!"

"Will you relax, blondie. I compelled you to stand still, so stand still."

"Kai, what the-"

"Shh. You'll feel fine in just a minute." He shushed the brunette, bringing her up high enough so that her head was able to drink, given her weak state. "Blondie, come here." He commanded, and the girl had no other choice but to obey.

Nabila tried to fight the urge to look away, her head facing the opposite direction of the blood resource. "No. Get it away. Please."

Kai rolled his eyes and sighed. "Just drink. You'll thank me later."

And eventually after a few tempting seconds, Nabila gave in an drank from the girl's wrist. She would be lying if she said she didn't like the taste and how it made her feel.

"Okay, that's enough." Kai signaled once he saw the girl loosing conscious. And surprisingly enough, Nabila was able to take her teeth out of her wrist.

"Wow. I gotta say I'm surprised you didn't kill her." Kai commented with a proud look on his face.

"Thanks." She sighed tiredly, quickly knocking out next to the other girl.

"Sweet dreams kid."
