000. far from home
far from home / prologue
NABILA MIKAELSON'S worst fear was dying.
Who could blame her when she lived in a world where the supernatural and the immortals existed. Besides the fact that her entire family were either a supernatural being or a part of it, Nabila herself was born with magic of her own.
Being the creation of a one nightstand between an original vampire —also the only tribrid known to man— Klaus Mikaelson, and a werewolf from one of the most important wolf packs, Hayley Marshall, came Nabila Mikaelson, alongside her twin sister, Hope Mikaelson.
Unlike her sister Hope, Nabila didn't inherit the wolf gene like everyone had anticipated. And unlike Nabila, Hope didn't inherit the vampire gene. It was an inexplicable and mysterious concept that even the witches couldn't comprehend.
All that was really known was that each sister had their own magic within them, Hope more than Nabila since she was the oldest —by a close minute.
Nabila Mikaelson was a witch, a great one too thanks to her aunt Freya's weekly lessons of 'witchy magic fun', as she would call them. And although she dreaded them because her sister would always outshine her as usual, she enjoyed the time she spent with her aunt. She was almost like a second mother to her, just as Freya saw her as the daughter she wished she had.
Speaking of the daughter she wished had, Nabila Mikaelson was the perfect example of that. It was no surprise that she and her mother never got along, and who could blame them when her perfect sister was already, 'the perfect daughter'.
But at least that's exactly what she was in her father's eyes, her perfect little girl. He loved her more than anything in the world, and despite trying to hide his 'obvious' favoritism, everyone knew that Klaus Mikaelson's preferred child was Nabila.
Everyone knew that Klaus would die before anything happened to either of his children, or if anyone caused them any harm.
So when the news broke out that one of her daughters had mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the day, leaving no trace but dry stains of blood, Klaus Mikaelson lost it.
"I don't give a damn if we have to search the seven seas for her, but you find her you hear me?!"
How could he keep calm when even the most powerful with alive, Freya, couldn't locate her. It was almost like Nabila never existed.
"What's the point of being a witch if you can't even do a bloody easy locator spell!?"
Despite their efforts to look for the girl, every end would lead to to another dead end, ironically enough just like her.
Nabila was dead, her worst fear had become a reality and it was all her father's fault. After all it was one of his immortal enemies that had killed her, in the most brutal way anyone could ever be killed — at least in the supernatural world.
A snapped neck.
At least that was how she died after being viciously tortured by Aurora De Martel, also known as her father's 'one true love' and crazy ex lover.
Nabila remembered both the woman's last words and hers. It began with, 'please, i'm only 16!', and 'this is your dad's fault sweetie, not mine.'
And those words would replay in her head until she would wake up again. Only this time, she wasn't were she was supposed to be, and she felt changed,
She felt like a completely different person, like someone who hadn't been tortured and whose neck hadn't been snapped a few hours earlier.
The second she woke up in an unknown park with strangers surrounding her, she knew that there was something completely wrong.
"Where am I?" She thought to herself, touching the back of her neck as she recalled her last moments alive.
"Hey are you okay, kid?" A semi-old man with blonde hair knelt down beside the girl.
Anyone with eyes could see that she was definitely not okay, the dried blood in her skirt being proof of that. And it wasn't just physically, she was mentally not fine. Who in their right minds would after being murdered? No one.
"Sensei, I think we should take her to a hospital. She's bleeding." A guy wearing a funny looking red shirt spoke out.
Sensei? What kind of hell was she sent to?
"Or, we can just call the ambulance and leave her here." Another guy added, making the rest nod their heads — including the old man.
All she could manage to do was look at the in confusion, as the words in the back of her head weren't forming. Had she lost her voice? Was she dead and in t he afterlife? Or was it all in her head?
"We're definitely taking her to a hospital."
"Right! What Miguel said." The blonde man concluded, grabbing the girl by the shoulders while the others carried her legs.
"Oh, no. I think we're loosing her again."
Again?
Nabila was too exhausted to listen to another word coming from their mouths, and she felt herself loose conscious of her surroundings by the next second.
Everything went black again, only this time she was sent into another spiral. Where the wailing of her mother and the screams of her father was all she could her, alongside their torn faces when Freya told them she was gone.
"What do you mean she's gone, sister?"
"I- I don't know Klaus. It's like she's not even in this world anymore. I don't understand-"
"Well try again!" Hayley yelled in desperation.
"I've tried multiple times and I still keep getting dead ends!"
"But she's alive." Freya added, bringing the little hope they had lost back. "I know she is."
She was only lost and far from home.
