1. The Earthquake

##???'s Point of View##
Another day at school, I didn't see the point of coming here anymore. Each day passed routinely, I would listen to teachers constantly lecture us about bullying, although, I find it hard to believe anyone would actually listen. For most of my classes, I stare out the window and hope for the school day to be over. I hadn't a lot of friends, the only true friend I had was a boy that was in my class. After he transferred out, I was back to square one. I had learned how to fit in with the other girls and soon made other friends, but they were nothing like my best friend.

The bell rang, lunch. I watched as all my classmates run out into the hall to meet up with their friends, most of them just sprinted to the cafeteria. I was always the last one to leave the classroom, everything happened the way I planned it to.

But things turned out differently today.

An earthquake. An earthquake happened unreasonably. It started with some shaking and me feeling nauseous, I thought it was just me until someone yelled the word 'earthquake'. Come to think of it, I was the only calm one there. Our teacher directed us on leaving the classroom and getting outside. We lined up.

As we were walking down the stairs, I spotted a blond-haired boy leaning against the wall. What is he doing? Why isn't he running? I thought to myself. He had his hands in the pocket of his green jacket. His amber eyes met my light violet ones, they were lovely, beautiful amber eyes.

I saw that a piece of the roof came lose and he was standing right underneath it! Without thinking, I ran towards him and pushed him out of the way. It was like my body was leading and my brain was following. I definitely wasn't thinking the slightest bit. The earthquake shattered the glass windows beside me causing the shards to fly in my direction, it felt like a million little needles were sticking themselves in me, and if that wasn't bad enough, the roof fell on top of me. Everything went pitch black, all I heard were distant sounds of people calling my name.

##Yukine's Point of View##
I remember watching the kids my age evacuate the building. A girl with light brown hair and lively violet eyes looked straight at me. Of course, she could be looking elsewhere, I wasn't sure.

She suddenly ran toward me and pushed me to the ground. She is really strong for someone her age. I heard a loud band and some shouting, once I was on my feet again, I saw that the girl was on the floor. Unconscious. Blood was pouring out of her and a piece of the roof landed on her. She saved me.

I was terrified. I had never seen someone be so injured before. I watched as an adult called the ambulance. A group of teachers removed the roof from her back and shook her. Nothing. The other teachers were directing the other students out of the school. I heard the siren on an ambulance outside and in an instant, three doctors rushed up to the floor we were on.

"She is hurt badly." One of the emergency crew reported. "Try not to move her too much, we don't want the glass shards getting any deeper."

I watched as they carefully lay her on a white bed and carried her downstairs. I stood there, I couldn't move. It was like I was paralysed. Scared. Afraid. This was even more frightening than phantoms.

##???'s Point of View##
What was I thinking? Oh, right, I guess I wasn't. I stayed in the silence for a long time. A loud beeping noise broke the silence. As I slowly opened my eyes, I found that my vision was blurry, as it slowly cleared up, I found that my aunt was sitting beside me.

"Miya, thank goodness you're awake, we didn't think you'd make it. You've made an incredibly fast recovery." Aunt Sayuri hugged me.

"Where is m-my brother and my m-mother?" I whispered weakly. That was all I could think of. I felt as if I couldn't move, everything hurt.

"Your mother... she didn't make it... and your brother... is in a coma..." My uncle said while checking my statistics.

Tears uncontrollably flowed down my cheeks. "Since Hiyori has gone off to college, you can stay with us." My aunt changed the subject and smiled, but I knew deep down, she was just as heartbroken as I was.

I struggled to get up but my body wasn't cooperating. "Can I see him?" I knew that he was lying on the bed in the opposite direction as mine, but I still wanted to see him.

"Maybe tomorrow, dear, you are still healing. Try not to move too much. Your brother told us to give you that white book before he fainted." I nodded. And looked over to a small table my aunt pointed to. My sketchbook. "We'll leave you to rest." And with that, I was left in an empty hospital room.

I looked at my hands. Bandages. Many other people lost their family and homes today. I sighed. Sooner or later, I heard voices call for help, faint voices. They didn't sound humanlike, I was afraid. Once the voices quieted down, I couldn't help but fall asleep.

I wonder if Hiyori went through this.

##Third Person Point of View##
Normally, all the pain that Yato felt came from him, but this time, some came from his blessed vessel. They had cut their ties with Hiyori ever since she went to college, they were heartbroken, especially Yato, but knew that it was for the best. Yato finally completed Hiyori's wish, for her body to go back to normal, and that was all that mattered.

"Yukine, what happened? I've been having this painful sting ever since you said you were going to visit other kids your age." Yato put his arm around Yukine. Yukine stayed silent. "What happened during the earthquake?" Yato's voice grew serious.

"Nothing, it's none of your business." Yukine put his hands in his pocket. "I got to go." He was going to pay a visit to the girl who saved his life.
