~T H R E E~
There was a throbbing pain in my head and my entire body felt like it got hit by a truck. Which I guess technically did happen.
My eyelids still felt swollen and heavy, but I managed to slowly open them to view my surroundings.
I tried to get up but I still felt too groggy to move. That and my entire body was strapped down to what I presumed was a hospital bed.
Well I guess this means I'm definitely not dead for the moment.
I then noticed how I was in new white clothes. There were bandages on me, my hair was a mess, sweat was dripping from my face and IVs were connecting me to machines.
While it may have seemed like I was in a hospital, the room I was in was dark with metal walls, and I could faintly make out that there were cameras at each corner of the room.
This was definitely not good.
I have to get out of here before any more bad shit happens. The people who took me might be trying to harvest my organs for the black market or something. Or maybe put me into a human trafficking ring, or I could've been kidnapped by a cult of serial killers.
Regardless, I knew being in this situation could not possibly end well for me so I had to think and plan to somehow escape from wherever I was being held.
I tried to calm myself down and think of the last things that happened before I blacked out.
There was a car accident. I was with my mom, and the EMT guy brought me into the ambulance. His name was Edward? No, it was...Eric? Yeah Eric, and he must have drugged me or something and brought me here.
I couldn't just run out of here even if I wanted to, not just because I was tied down but I had no idea where I was or even how far away from Lakeville I could be. Heck, I may not even be in the same country, let alone the same town.
If these people wanted my organs, they would have taken them by now and have my body thrown in some ditch.
Then again I had no idea how long I was unconscious for, it could have been an hour or even days, I had no way of telling.
So in terms of escape I would just have to see who comes through that door and somehow get out of these restraints in order to figure out my next plan of action.
And if I see that douchebag Eric, I'm gonna punch the living shit out of him whenever I have the chance.
Thoughts of revenge faded as my mind wandered to my mom. If she was even alive or captured as well. My friends must be so worried, and we never gave Gladys her soup!
Why did this have to happen?!
I was so close to being free to live my life. This kind of stuff doesn't happen in Lakeville, nothing drastic or interesting EVER happens in Lakeville. We don't even have a Starbucks for crying out loud!
So who would want to do this to me and my mom?
My thoughts were interrupted by loud footsteps approaching the door.
I didn't know if I should stay awake or pretend to still be unconscious. But before I could gain the courage to face my captor in the eye.
I instead closed my eyes and hoped that I looked believably still unconscious.
With my eyes closed I tried to steady my breathing and not try to give myself away. Heavy footfalls came closer and closer to me until they halted by the side of my bed. I could feel their presence next to me.
If I wasn't tied down I would try to fight my way out of this but I had to be smart.
I could feel them lean over me and feel their breath close to my face.
I wanted to shudder but that would give me away, so instead I tried my hardest to keep my body from cringing away.
"Why isn't she up by now?! You said she would be awake!" A gruff voice barked.
"Well it's different for every person, give her time she should be up soon," Another voice replied.
I couldn't quite place my finger on the second voice but it somehow sounded familiar.
"If you killed her, your ass is going to be next in joining her!" The first voice screamed.
"Relax, her vitals are stable now. She's going to be fine, so stop worrying." The second voice seemed more calm and collected given the situation he was in.
"Fine, but she looks terrible! Give her a bath and change her bandages again before she wakes up!" The first voiced yelled again.
The thoughts that ran through my mind at that moment was first "Fuck you, mister for judging my looks given my current situation!", second was that there would be no way in hell I would let these psychos touch me let alone bathe me! And third, was that this was finally my chance to escape!
I'm assuming the angry one left because I heard a door open and shut with footsteps walking away.
With only one of them there and the element of surprise on my side, I felt I could take him and potentially escape. This might be the only chance I get, even if I didn't know where I was.
While I was waiting for something to happen, I could then feel hands grab and undo the restraints at my ankles and I waited until my entire body was free.
As soon as the last wrist restraint was free, my eyes shot open and there in front of me with wide eyes of surprise was the EMT dude Eric.
Before I had a chance to hesitate I kicked him hard on the side of the head and hit him once more with a metal tray by the side of the bed.
"That's what you get for drugging me jackass."
I must have put more power than I thought into my attacks because he was knocked unconscious.
I figured I should quickly check if he had any weapon or ID on him to help me get through this place.
I was able to find an ID and gun attached to his belt.
The ID had a picture of his face and the name 'ERIC MARSHALL' in bold lettering. I grabbed the scalpel that was on one of the metal trays in the corner and ran as fast as I could out of the door. I put the scalpel in my pocket and turned the gun safety off.
I never thought I would be grateful for my older brother convincing my mom to let me take karate classes when I was younger. Even though I was relatively young I surprisingly enjoyed it. When my brother passed, I later joined a MMA class and learned how to shoot various weapons, because I vowed to not let my mom have to go through the loss of another family member if I could help it. I would not feel helpless.
Unfortunately, given my current situation while I may have gotten taken, I was still alive, and I intended to stay that way and get back to my mom and friends.
I kept running against the cold tile floor, since I was barefoot at the moment I tired to stay cautious of running into anyone. I could see cameras in every halfway, but if there were only two of them I should still be able to escape even if the other happened to spot me. I would've taken the cameras out but I only had a few bullets and I wasn't willing to waste those not knowing the potential obstacles I may have yet to encounter.
This place was like a maze and I tried to keep myself from getting frustrated. All the hallways looked the same with no clear exit to be found, but I kept moving.
All of a sudden I heard an alarm going off with red flashing lights.
Shit.
I started out into a full on sprint rounding every corner for what seemed like forever. Until I finally found a door that looked like an exit. Instead I was met with about five people that looked to be dressed in a camo stormtrooper uniform. Maybe they were a rescue team that was sent for me?
"That's her! Grab the girl!" one of them yelled to the others
Yeah I don't think they were here to rescue me.
But I knew I would have to get past them in order to try to escape, I couldn't turn back.
I stood my ground and held the gun pointed at the first camo stormtrooper, I decided to stand my ground against them. I first aimed for the area near the femoral artery since they were all wearing helmets and bulletproof vests.
The bullet made contact and the first one went down. Only four more to go, I thought.
The remaining four pulled out batons and tazers.
"We have to make sure she stays alive! No kill shots!" another one of them yelled.
I didn't quite understand what was going on but apparently they had to hold back for some reason, but that didn't mean I had to.
I quickly maneuvered my way around them trying not to get hit or tackled by any of them placing perfectly aimed shots at any vulnerable areas I could spot.
I was able to take three more down and only had to injure the last one.
I ran out of bullets so I grabbed the scalpel from my pocket and sliced by his ankle and then up to his knee causing the person to buckle and fall. In which I then stabbed them in the shoulder and began running again.
I was almost out of here. I just had to keep moving. Keep running and then as I rounded another corner. I felt a bolt of electricity run up my spine.
I fell to the ground in a spasm. I tried crawling across the ground only to be met with another electric shock.
And standing above me was a man that had to be at least 6'0 feet tall with graying hair and a hard faced demeanor.
"I guess it is always the quiet ones that surprise us the most eh girl?" The man spoke to me.
I was still weak from the electric shocks and the slowed down effects from the adrenaline pumping through me previously.
Instead of answering I attempted a weak punch to his ankle and of course this didn't faze him in the slightest.
Instead he chuckled a bit and instructed more storm trooper looking guys to get me off the floor.
"Get her up and back into her room! If this happens again it's going to be your asses that will be fried with bolts of electricity!" He shouted.
Right as two of the guards I'm assuming, picked me up the man directed his attention to me once more.
"You must be tired after that stunt you pulled, so we will give you more time to rest before beginning Orientation. We will be talking again very soon."
And with that he turned and walked away out another door that rounded a corner.
And I was dragged back to the room I originally escaped.
