~F O U R~
I was still weak as the camo henchmen handcuffed me while dragging me back to my room.
There was nothing I could do now, I was so close to finding an exit. I will just have to plan better next time.
As one of the guards opened the door that led to the room I originally escaped, I saw that Eric dude holding his head as a noticeable bruise started forming near his temple.
He noticed me glaring at him as he steadied himself into a standing position.
"You pack quite the punch for a girl," he chuckled.
"Tell these guards to release me and I'll show you again how well I can punch, asshole." I retorted.
The guard to my right holding me used his taser to stun me on my side, as I let out a shriek of pain.
"Alright enough of that, get her back on the bed and tie her down before Hammond comes back and chews out all our asses" Eric commanded.
The guards led my weak body to the bed and tied me down as they then all left the room.
In all the commotion I noticed I forgot to ask one of the most important questions hanging out in the back of my mind.
"Hey you," I mentioned to Eric, "where am I, where is my mom? What do you want with us?!"
Eric stopped as he was walking toward the door, and turned back slightly to me.
"Hammond will explain when he comes back." Was all he said as he swiftly left the room and slammed the door shut.
"Bastard, can't even answer my questions after all the shit he put me through," I mumbled.
I leaned my head back into the pillow, since my head was the only thing I could freely move at the moment, and stared up at the bare white ceiling.
In the silence of the room, a small tear managed to escape my eyes and slid down my cheek.
All I could think about now was that I was trapped in this place and my mom could've been left for dead for all I knew. But one thing is for sure, I'm getting out of here one way or another. But this time I will carefully plan and gain their trust because now I know I only have one more real shot at this....

Without realizing it I must have drifted off to sleep, when the sound of the door swinging open woke me.
Stepping inside the room was the man that foiled my attempt at escaping.
He looked to be about at least 6 feet tall with broad shoulders and a stern face. His salt and pepper hair was in a neat side slicked fashion and he wore black cargo pants with tight laced black combat boots and a matching black jacket. He also had a noticeable crescent shaped scar on the right side of his face extending from the corner of his eye to the bottom of his ear.
He stepped forward closer to my bed, his boots made thuds against the tile floor, growing louder as he approached.
He towered over my bed and looked down at me as if examining a specimen under a microscope.
I tried to fidget away from his gaze but the multiple straps attached to me did no help for me.
"You are tougher than you look, you know that," he spoke gruffly to me as he walked to the opposite side of the bed and pulled a chair from the corner to sit down next to me.
"So I've been told," I replied without meeting his gaze.
I didn't want to talk to this man, or anyone for that matter but I knew I had to in order to get some answers and find out what the heck was going on.
"Where am I and where is my mom," I spoke plainly.
"Do you not want to know my name first girl, before you start asking me questions?"
"Doesn't really matter to me." I retorted.
"Well, I can see you can use a brushing up on your manners then."
"Maybe I would be more polite if you hadn't tied me to a bed like an animal, had me shocked multiple times and told me some answers as to why the hell I'm here. Then maybe I could consider being more polite." I argued.
He stared at me for a moment, a look of slight shock on his face. Probably because he isn't used to being talked back to by anyone. But after that brief moment he regained his composure.
"Listen, I'm going to tell you some things. Things you might not like hearing but regardless of that I'm going to let you out of these straps but only under some conditions." He stated calmly.
My head turned toward him, indicating I was ready to listen to what he had to say. He now had my full attention.
"One, any order from me should be taken like an order from God. Whether that order is directly from me or through another person you comply because what I say goes. You disobey or retaliate well, you will just make your situation worse for yourself and some bad things will happen to you besides just a little shock from a taser. To put it lightly that is," he looked at me sternly and I nodded my head in understanding.
"Two, you will save all your questions until after I finish talking. But even then, I owe you nothing girl, and my willing to answer your questions depends entirely on you. So you must obey my orders and there will be no more disrespect towards me. If I sense even the slightest bit of sass coming from you, you'll end up back to this strapped bed." He motioned to the current position I was in.
"And finally, if you try to kill anyone here or try to use them for the purpose of helping you to escape. If I get so much as the slightest hint or rumor of you trying to escape, your memories will be wiped and any fragment of the person you were before will be gone and everyone you care about will be dead." He said with finality.
Follow these conditions and we won't have a problem, refuse and we will just leave you in this room to die a slow painful death.
Are we clear?
I couldn't refuse even if I wanted too, my escape will just have to be delayed. For now I had to play his game only then will I have any real chance of surviving.
I looked him in the face, "I understand, and I accept."
He smirked and stood up, "Good. Now let's get you out of these straps and I'll explain what I can to you."
He undid all of the straps and waited until I was able to fully sit up on my own. He then handed me a pair of white socks and laceless white shoes to put on that matched the white-ish looking scrubs I had on at the moment.
Once I had them on, he stood up and motioned me to do the same.
"My name is General Matthew Hammond. We are glad to have you join us Miss Arya Grace." He put on a slight smile and extended his hand out for me to shake.
I hesitantly took it and gave him a slightly skeptical look and he squeezed my hand with a firm grip and then released.
"Let's get started shall we?" He then started walking toward the door and motioned me to follow.
I was still slightly confused as to what just happened in the last 10 minutes considering this man just basically threatened my life and now he's acting as if he's a tour guide about to show me Disney world. I guess that's why so many people are a little intimidated by him, I mean his appearance alone could scare small children, but the way his mood changes is slightly even more frightening.
We continued walking down the hallways up to where I was captured. Past the door I almost went through was what looked like to be laboratories and people in either hazmat suits or labcoats. To the right and left were further corridors which I couldn't see past since the doors didn't have any glass to peer through but I saw these people only able to access entry through these doors with cards.
I was able to catch a brief glimpse of what was on the other side of these doors but I saw people carted away on gurneys leading to different rooms before the general noticed me lagging and motioned me to keep up.
I wasn't sure what these labs were for and why they had so many areas closed off with huge thick doors but I'm sure they weren't being used for good.
Maybe my theory about a drug operation was somewhat right?
Beyond the labs we approached an elevator which had and up arrow only so this must mean we were on the lowest floor. Before entering the elevator there were stairs far off to the right leading up.
The general then pushed the button and we both walked inside the elevator. Inside there were up to six floors, to which Hammond only pushed the top one.
The ride up was in silence and when the elevator dinged to a stop Hammond stepped out while I followed behind.
On the 6th floor there wasn't much but a long hallway with a few doors on the side. Some of the signs above these doors read, CONTROL ROOM, or CAMERA ROOM or SECURITY and another with OPERATIONS/INTELLIGENCE.
When we reached the end of the hallway the sign next to this door read "GENERAL M. HAMMOND" in black lettering.
He opened the door and told me to have a seat in front of his desk. Once inside, he closed the door behind him and walked over to sit behind his desk.
I was looking around the room noticing maps of various different parts of the world on the wall. Bookshelves filled to the brim and even a fireplace off to the far left side of the room. If I wasn't fearing for my life a bit right now, I would be completely impressed with the general's taste in office decor. His desk was a magnificent mahogany and his chair made him seem bigger than he actually was which I didn't know was possible. There was so much to take in I didn't notice him start to speak.
"I'm sorry what?" I asked.
He chuckled slightly, "I said it's pretty nice isn't it."
"Oh yes sir." I responded sheepishly.
"Yep, definitely one of the perks of being in charge I guess." He leaned back in his chair a bit before speaking again.
"I'm going to explain some things to you Arya, since I know you have been in a somewhat confused and frightened state since you woke up." He started.
I nodded my head, "Okay, thank you sir."
"Well let's start off with one important thing you should know."
I nodded my head for him to continue since I was waiting in anticipation.
"Well, you are dead my dear." He stated nonchalantly.
